I saw where Eric Cantor CLAIMED that "a bullet" (not a "spray of bullets") was fired through a window of his office. As Rappy pointed out, there's zero evidence of any truth in that allegation, though, unless someone comes up with video showing them doing it. $10,000 - come and get it!

There was another thread where a man who was known to stand outside of a high school with gruesome photos of aborted embryos was shot and killed. It was played up HERE as an example of the left-wing women-rights nut jobs who are JUST AS BAD as the anti-choice snipers and bombers. And it turned out the shooter was a non-partisan nutjob with a grudge who had shot two other people - for purely personal reasons - as well.

You seemed to be taking the same approach. Look - republicans are targeting democrats but a republican has been shot at ! Implication: it was a democrat so they must be just as bad. That is the ONLY reason to bring it up in this context. Otherwise, it's just irrelevant.

Rue, You're just being silly now. I and no one else here accused Dems of inspiring the Cantor shooting. If you don't want to engage me in an adult and respectful way I'm afraid I will not be able to do the same with you.

"... vile villification and personal attacks on Conservative women ..."

In Canada ? Is that what you are referring to ? Is that the democratic party's fault in any way ? Just wondering.

Suddenly, that little memo that Napolitano released about "right-wing extremists" being a danger to the country starts to seem so quaint in its underestimation of the real danger of the nutback whackjob fascists on the right.

You're on shaky ground when you point to Napolitano as a source for anything intelligent. Let's not forget her infamous humiliation over her comments on the Undie Bomber. As for the rest....People are angry and they get carried away sometimes. It's absurd to try to deny that some vile things were said and even possibly done to these Congressmen, but HEY ....stop trying to link the nut jobs to Republicans or even Tea Party people. Every political group has extremists...even the lofty Democrats. Seems I recall some pretty nasty and disgusting stuff being hurled at Bush, Cheney and Republicans by protesters in the past, but fair-minded people never accused the Dem Party of complicity for certain individuals' actions. Just like those same fair-minded people don't link aggressive and violent G8 protesting anarchists to the Dem Party either. Just be fair, that's all.

Jongsie, are you dismissing the message because you don't like the messenger? It kinda feels that way. And to shrug off such hatred, violence and vitriol as "people getting carried away sometimes" feels disingenuous of you, if not downright dangerous for the country. After all, did Lee Harvey Oswald just get carried away? John Wilkes Booth? John Hinckley? Squeaky Fromme? Sirhan Sirhan? James Earl Ray? People "just getting carried away" can have very disastrous results.

As for absurd links, anyone remember Rod Paige, Bush's education secretary, labeling public school teachers as terrorists and claiming that the NEA was a "terrorist organization"? He never backed off that assertion, either. It seems conservatives only get upset about ugly rhetoric when someone beats them to the punch with it.

By the way, where are the protests about McCain uttering the dreaded "lipstick on a pig" reference? Clearly he must have been calling Sarah Palin a pig, right? Isn't that what the right claimed when Obama said it?

Just be fair, indeed.

Yes I am dismissing. I've got a lot of other things to worry about in my life than worrying about a handful of inbred trogladytes holstering their weapon. Most of these people haven't even been out of their house in 20 years. They just want some sunshine.

So your point in posting that was WHAT again ?

People get (allegedly) shot at all the time so it's nobody's fault ? All those things REPUBLICANS are saying, all the insults REPUBLICANS hurl, all the vague and not so vague threats REPUBLICANS make are nothing ? If you don't want to engage me in an adult and respectful way I'm afraid I will not be able to do the same with you.

There is no "villification" of Bachman and Palin. There is reaction to their well documented insanity. Their own words and actions have made them villans.

As for support from Women's groups - what are you talking about? Insanity does not deserve to be excused simply because the nutjob is a woman.

I'll note for the record that when a couple of Republican politicians were actually shot, there was a HUGE outcry, and some Republicans started calling for outright bans on all guns, especially handguns. Hell, the wife of one of those who was shot actually started a political action committee dedicated to banning guns.

Those two politicians were Ronald Reagan and James Brady.

So when Republicans are targeted, there ARE Republicans who "whine like little bitches" - to the press, to the party, to the world, to everybody and anybody.

Hell, sometimes they even invade sovereign nations when they're threatened! Anyone remember the alleged plot by Saddam to assassinate Bush Sr.?

Of course, as Rappy points out, without video evidence of Saddam actually plotting, Bush must come out and admit that he was lying about it all...

No evidence whatsoever, which is the same amount of evidence that Republicans are responsible for the threats against Democrats.

By the standards of most folks here...it must be true, in fact, it was probably Obama shooting from a car driven by Pelosi (a hybrid).
