SHADOW runs up the ramp and signals WASH to take off.
the ALLIANCE soldiers begin to fire at SHADOW, but the rising ramp blocks the bullets - save 1.
TRANQUILITY takes off and leaves atmo'
SHADOW slumps against the wall of the air lock and slowly slides down until he's sitting with his back against the wall - leaving a red trail on the wall behind him.

(as the captain begins to lose conscienceness, a sudden wieghtless overtakes him. he opens his eyes only to stares at a blurred image.)
Captain- Am i dead? Are you the devil?
Blurred image- Close...
(another voice fills the air around the captain)
Voice- quickly! get him in here!
Blurred image- Im coming, im coming. the captain ain't exactly light you know.
(suddenly the cqptain snaps to and his focus regains)
Captain- Oreo!?
Oreo- oh now you know me? a minute ago i was the devil.
voice- hurry up will ya, he's losing alot of blood.
(The captain turns his head in the direction of the voice.)
Captain- Shiny?
Shiny- try not talk captain. you took a bullet or three...again.I think i can get the fragments out.
(The Captain rolls in eyes in disbelief)
Captain- shes thinks...SHE THINKS.
(Oreo lowers the captain onto the gernery as shiny tosses a morphine shot to him.)
shiny- dope him...
(Before oreo sticks the needle in the captain suddenly grabs his arm and gives shiny a look of sarcastic concern)
Captain- If i don't make it...I...I...
(The captain fades out from the effects of tye shot.Oreo tosses the needle aways and then grabs the captains hand and removes it from his arm)
Oreo- she'll take care of you and you know it.
(shiny flashes a tiny smile at oreo. Oreo, stone faced only stares at her.)
Oreo- if you need me, i'll be on the bridge with that chump pilot. com me.
(oreo leaves the room and shiny begins her work while muttering to herself)
Shiny- i was trying to say thank you...asshole.

Wash- ok. ok. but the captain is ok right? ok, ill com you back when i get a course plotted.
(wash ends the com)
Wash(talking to himself)- ok, now i need to figure out where we're going...
(voice from behind)
voice- how about Nilo?
(Wash jumps in his seat startled at the voice behind him.
Wash- Holy...Jesus and mary...god...Oreo! Gorram ...
Oreo- really? i don't they heard you.
Wash- qwhen did you...where? don't you ever make noise when you walk?
Oreo- i try not to.
(wash recollects himself)
Wash- ok. ok what is Nilo?
Oreo just a place i know. safe, outta the way. gotta town there too. restock and fuel. doctors too.
Wash-i gotta run it by the captain
Oreo- figure the captains gonna out for a few hours. still he's gonna need a proper doc, shiny can only do so much.
Wash- alright! i'll run it past shiny and see what she...annnnnnd he's gone. seriously that guy creeps me out. (nervous chuckle) doesnt make noise when he walks...i wonder if he holds his breathe too.

he sees a bright light, but before he reaches it a dark figure appears in front of him - blocking his path to the light.

(oreo re-enters the med bay)
Shiny- captains talkin in his sleep.
Oreo- most of these meds are so out dated, be thankful thats all he's doin.
(even though the words coming from oreo were seroius,shiny finds a little bit of humor in and tries to keep from smiling)
Shiny- So, where have you been?
Oreo- just having a chat with that dwarf pilot.
Shiny- don't tell me you was bein mean to him. oreo, i swear, i will shoot you if...
Oreo- calm down, the guy is still breathin. i suggested a plot course to him. somewhere outta the way that has doctors for the cap. he's supposed to com you. see what you think.
(a surprised look overtakes shiny)
Shiny- you're actually doing something useful...other then killing and throwing psychotic fits.
(shiny instantly catches herself on her words)
shiny- oreo, im sorry. i didn't...
(oreo turns and begins to leave)
Oreo- its okay. i guess i must be slipping. com me in my bunk once you talk to the dwarf.
Shiny- Oreo.
(oreo stops)
Oreo- What?
Shiny- Where?
Oreo- from where we are now. 4 days ride...Nilo.

Oreo was up here alittle while ago. he gave me a suggestion for a new place to head to.

Okay, i hope the captain will be ok with this. I've looked up the coordinates on the cortex. from what it looks like, its gonna take about 4 days. i can go hard burn and maybe cut that to three, maybe two and a half days.

(shiny ends her conversation with wash and slowly turns her head staring into a dark corner of the med bay.)
Shiny- whats in Nilo? you've never mentioned it before.
(oreo steps from the darkness)
Oreo- you're assuming something?
Shiny- NO. well, yes...i don't know. but the last few times you suggest an out of the way place something has happened. you remember slias 5 right. i watched, oreo as the whole place went up, i watched you...
(shiny stops as a tear rolls down her cheek)
Shiny- I....I just can't...
Oreo- it is a place i know. thats all. i have no enemies there.
Shiny- then how do you know of it?
Oreo- Its not important.
Shiny- And this...always this. this, this mysteriousness. talk to me. I am trying very hard to hold on to my feelings but you're making it hard. i don't need you to protect me you know. btu damnit oreo,i have feeling for you and if you're going to return them...
Oreo- ...When i escaped from silas 5. i hitched a ride on this old trans u transport. there was this old guy onboard. always gave this curious eye, like he knew i was different and in trouble. after about a week in the black he comes over to and says "son, i dont know you or anything about your past. but i can see your heart and though it is filled with hate and revenge i know there is some good left. You run from something. and as long as you stay on this ship, the thing you run from will never be far behind. Nilo." and then the old coot walked away. thought the guy to be crazy, but something inside of me believed him. i got off a the first avaiable port, high jacked a long range skiff and made my way to Nilo.
Shiny-So why did you leave? obvisouly, the alliance didn't know where you were.
Oreo-...revenge. i wanted blood. i wanted to hear the ones who turned me into the freak i am, scream.
(Shiny stares at oreo)
Shiny- Oreo...do you promise there is nothing but a reglar town, with regular people.
(oreo glares at shiny. shiny instantly draws her gun and aims it oreo)
Shiny- you promise! or i'll shoot you!
(oreo walks over to shiny and stops. the barrel of the gun pressing against oreo chest right over his heart.)
Oreo- I...promise
(shiny slowly lowers her gun. oreo turns and leaves. shiny holsters her gun and look down at the captain)
Shiny- we are messed up. arent we?

SHADOW mumbles:

then he thinks:

(Shiny rushes after oreo)
Shiny- Hey, not that i have anything to be sorry about...but,i'm sorry. We've been through alot. You. Me. this whole crew. you know that. and you know Niska gonna be comin down on us soon enough.
Oreo- We'll deal with Niska when the time comes. So enough, the captain will come up with something.
(Shiny tilts her head slightly and cracks a grin)
Shiny- so, whats Nilo like?
Oreo- It's probably the closet thing to paradise you can get that is alliance controlled. Trees, fields. The folks there are welcoming to strangers.
Shiny- You know we're low on supplies. actually, i'm hoping wash'll cut the trip down to about 2 days seein as thats about the extent of our food supplies.
(A realization suddenly hits Oreo)
Oreo- what ever happened to that weasel Terry?
(Shiny gives oreo a face of confusion)
Shiny- I don't know and who cares? But we are running short on hands around here. Maybe we can finds some new crew on Nilo.
Oreo- Doubt it. People there are pretty content with the way things are around.
Shiny- That's right, it's a paradise
(Oreo smiles)
Oreo- Only if you let be. If you need me i'll be in my bunk.
(In the brigde wash suddnely recieves a hail from inbound alliance cruiser)
Cruiser- Transport vessel Firefly. This Alliance ship "Monger". Do you recieve?
(Wash listens in)
Wash- Monger...as in "War Monger".
(Instantly he grabs for the com)
***Wash***
Shiny, Oreo! We've just been buzzed by an inbound alliance cruiser. we've been hailed.
***end***
Oreo- That ain't good.

We copy. hold on.

Oreo- think we should high tail it.
Shiny- we can't. we go for a hard burn now we wont have enough to make it to nilo. we'll be dead in the water even if we do manage to out run them.
(Back on the bridge)
Cruiser Monger- Again, transport vessel Firefly. This is Alliance ship "Monger". Power down and prepare to be board. Any attempt of hostile acts will result in your immediate termination. Do you copy?
(Wash switchs frequenices)
Wash- Oh, copy that monger, we are powering down now. may i ask for the nature of your visit?
Cruiser Monger- Just power down and prepare to be boarded. I want all crew visible and in the cargo hold. Is that clear?
Wash- Copy that.
