"I'm thinkin... 'we'll rise again'."
Wash fires up the engines and lifts the wounded Firefly into the black, guiding the wounded ship away from potential danger.
As Tranquility clears the asteroid that was almost her graveyard, a glint of sunlight catches her logo as she peels away, into space.
He puts Tranquility on auto pilot, then walks to the galley where the rest of the crew are meeting.
Wash thinks:
= I wonder what the new guy is like.
I hope he's like Oreo - without the killing and the stealing. =

As Wisp moved the last load of his things into the cargo bay he watched as the man who had been unconscious then stolen a shuttle proceeded to open up a cryo pod. Not wanting to get involved Wisp quickly got out of his space suit, grabbed a few items and headed up to mess. He was so glad to be out of that Gorram suit. Military issue may have been functional but it sure as hell wasn’t comfortable. And was there no way to cover up that damn smell?
Before Wisp headed to the mess he knew there should be some sort of bathroom in the passenger quarters where he could freshen up. Upon finding an empty cabin he quickly shed his sweat soaked t-shirt and proceeded to try and bathe best he could in the small sink. Unfortunately his toiletries were buried somewhere in his boxes of items in the hold and he didn’t fancy digging through it all so water would have to suffice. He threw on a fresh shirt and a battered brown flying jacket. He wore a pair of dark combat fatigues on his lower half with all the pockets stuffed with random pieces of technology and wiring. The outfit was completed by a much worn brown leather utility belt. This was again full of various items including a hyper spanner, sonic screwdriver, and many other small devices some of which Wisp had invented himself. A conspicuous space on the right hand side revealed where a weapon holster should have lain but Wisp decided to leave that out for now.
Upon reaching the galley he found he was the first one there and proceeded to pick a squat in the middle of the table. He really a beer. He could raid the cupboards but thats a little forward for a new crewmember. He had some down with his stuff along with other rations and stuff but didn’t wanna go all the way down there. In fact after the day he’d had as soon as he sat down his energy sapped pretty quickly. He was pretty ready to just fall into some sort of coma. As soon as he had some kind of bed set aside for him he was gonna take full advantage of it, Unpacking be damned. First thing in the morning he’d set up his things. Job one was getting his bioreactor set up, then he could use that to power his other technological gizmos that he had brought with him. Then he could set himself to the task of overhauling the sensor package.
But he wished he had a beer...

Shiny walks away annoyed with Oreo. She senses Storm and summer following her as she walks to the Gally
she thinking.. He had to go and open the cryo pod, He just had to do it!
Then she thinks about the Capt telling her to watch them. Shiny says aloud to herself, "what is wrong with the man folk on this ship?!
She not happy that the responsibility always land on her to watch the twins. Shiny talks to her self. If I wanted kids, I would have them.well first i would get married. Married! she snickers to herself no thanks men are like big kids. And I don't want kids. Shiny didn't realize she said that aloud
She turns her head to see if the twins are still
behind her. She see's they are.
She walks into the Gally and see's wisp. the twins sit down at the table.
Shiny feeling guilty towards the twins, She starts making them each a sandwich.
She Turns around and looks at the twins,
"you guys must be hungry."
The twins nod.
As she turns to finish making their sandwiches she notices wisp looking at the food on the counter.
knowing he must be hungry makes him two.
Without saying a word she gives the twins their food, Thes grabs wisps off the counter and slides
it over to him. She cracks a small smile. then turns to the ice box grabs two beers opens them
and slides one to wisp.
Wisp thanks her between gulps.
Shiny, sits opposite to wisp.."you get to meet
the rest of the crew....lucky you. She say's jokingly but with a hint of sarcasm.
...Also, I can kill you with my brain.

Oreo and Wash get to the galley and sit down at the table.
Shadow walks in last and sits at the head of the table.
"Ok all, 1st, let me say thanks to Wisp for saving our bacon back on that rock and for all the help with patching us up."
He looks at Wisp.
"Don't have much to offer you in the way of reward, but we can take you any which way you want.
You're welcome to stay aboard 'long as you want.
We'll be needin' parts and repairs so we'll be lookin' for a place that can accommodate us."
"First we all got some story tellin' to do. I've already told Wisp about our 2 Twins that we saved from the black market dealers.
He knows that they are... were... part of the Alliance project called
The Gemini Project.
What I didn't tell him is that they can read minds as a by-product of the DNA hybridization to try to make a 'mental super-soldier'.
"I also told him about Oreo and how the Alliance experimented with his DNA in the Operation Reaver Echo One project.
But I think Oreo should be the one to tell his story."

We have some time before we get to the next planet and we'll be spendin' some time together so let's air it out.

**In the shuttle**
(El does a head count and tells the cap that there are 12 people in the shuttle. It is so cramped in the shuttle that El feels his nerves on edge. He has to move.)
El: O2! Have you fixed the CO leak yet?
O2: Almost.....There! That should do it.
El: OK! I can't stand another second in here!
(El breaches the airlock and steps into Tranquility for the first time in what seems like a long time.)
El: Kat, Why don't you guys get everyone settled into the cargo bay. I'm heading to the galley.
(El heads to the galley to find the rest of the crew, not to mention a new face, sitting around the dining table.)
Captain: El, I quarantined your shuttle. What are you doing here.
El: It's good to see you to. We fixed the leak. YOU try being in a shuttle with eleven other people. Everyone else is getting settled in the cargo bay. I say we stop by and see Master Ojin. He can find these people new homes.
Cap: As long as you fixed the leak. Good to have you back El. Your unique talents are always needed on this ship.
El: It's good to be useful again. I have to talk to you about something later. Something from my past. I'm going to need your help.
(El sits down next to the twins and feels at home for the first time in a while)
When you can't run you crawl. When you can't do that...well...you know the rest.

(El settles in and suddenly oreo speaks up)
Oreo- my sister?
(El turns in his chair to face oreo)
El- well, well, well, i see the family cat is still alive and kicking. how many lives do you have let anyways?
Oreo- gorramit! what did you say to me?!
(Before oreo could react, the captain steps between them.)
Captain- knock it off you two. not on my ship. you two got something to settle, then take it outside.
Oreo- outside, but we're in space.
(the captain flashes a look of astonishment)
Captain- I know that dumbass.
(Oreo suddenly feeling very stupid, withdraws. satified with oreo choice, he turns to El)
Captain- its hard enough to keep the big lug under control enough, don't need you stirring him up.
El- you got it cap.
Captain- So, what about kat?
El- she's here and in good health.
(Oreo cracks a small smile of relief.)
Captain- well, the gang is all here then.

Whilst Wisp is sat finally relaxing Shiny comes in accompanied by two young children. ‘I bet they're the two Shadow was on about.’ Project Gemini was it? The Alliance were always busy messing with the natural order of things. They wouldn’t be happy until they’d shifted the whole human race into a great super soldier species. As he’s pondering his thoughts Shiny slides over a sandwich and cold beer to him.
“You my Darling” He says diving into both of them with abandon “Are a Goddess”. He listens as she sarcastically references the rest of the crew. “How many people are aboard nowadays? They all a nice bunch?”
Before she has a chance to answer Shadow comes in with Oreo in tow. He stands up and gives Wisp and introduction but before Wisp can get up and introduce himself a man who was referred to as Elbarto enters and receives a thorough dressing down from the captain. When this is finished he sees his opportunity and takes to the floor.
"Im Wisp. Got a real name but it sort of has a warrant (or six) to go with it" Wisp took a hefty swig of his beer.
"Born on Ariel to a middle class family went to a good school had a great career as a technical whiz-kid to go into. But, My parents were terrified of the Alliance, during the war they attended every unification march, meeting, protest you name it. I got dragged into their little 'don’t arrest me I’m a zombie' plan.
From age ten onwards I was sent to the military Youth Academy. Rarely saw my parents. The military were training kids to be officers and soldiers at young ages so they’d be dangerous weapons by the time they reached adulthood. I wasn’t easily brainwashed"
Wisp looked into the bottle like a dying man looking at his wife. Then he shook his head and returned his gaze to the people before him.
"I stuck it out till i was 15. Then I ran away. Lived on the streets of Capital City. Learned a lot more things, Got in a lot more scrapes, met a LOT of women. I ended up providing technical expertise for a shady business venture run by a mob and earned myself a warrant or two so I left my name behind and started using my call sign from my youth"
Wisp looked around at the motley crew and smirked inwardly.
"I ended up on commerce after another unfortunate incident, and joined a ship named the Sereni-tree. Then it gets weird.” Wisp paused at this point to make sure everyone was keeping up with him. “There was some intergalactic hiccup, I call it an Unexplainable Quantum Interaction Event I’ve been studying them since, anyway me and a few others appeared in orbit around Boros with no idea how we got there. This got us the unwanted attentions of a group known as Crimson Squad who I’ve since found out are the Alliance Military wet work team. And this in turn got us the attention of the resistance.”
“We ended up helping a resistance movement survive assassination as they were exposing the President for some very illegal dealings. This lead us to Santos” This was where everything fell apart. Keep it together Wisp “Whilst we were regrouping we were attacked. Don’t know by who but I've got some ideas. We got hit hard and we started a very rapid evacuation and got separated. That was two years ago and I've been trying to find them ever since”
“I was on my way to follow a lead on Silverhold when I saw your ship and repaired your hull whilst you were all unconscious. Unfortunately I've had to cannibalise my ship to save yours and that leads me here. If any of you have questions feel free to ask away.”

"Ok, looks like we can get you to Silverhold to search for your old mates, just as soon as we unload our 'new cargo' on Aquila."

As Shadow leaves for the bridge,
he takes out a knife, walk over to the message board,
holds a message up on it with his left hand and
stabs it with the knife.
