I like Chuck, House, The Mentalist, Leverage, Bones, Burn Notice, Monk, Pysch, Numb3rs, Ghost Whisperer (just got into this one), and Kyle XY.

When it comes back in the summer, I'll be watching In Plain Sight again.

When I get the opportunity, I watch Dr. Who (don't have SciFi or BBCA channels).

I was watching Eli Stone until they canceled it!

Hotel Babylon (just light-hearted drama, it makes me giggle),
Book Quiz (Sky Arts, I like it),
QI,
Have I Got News For You (A little bit of satire is always good for the soul),
Mock the Week,
&& I tend to get into Strictly Come Dancing about half way through the series,
&& I do like How I Met Your Mother, but I tend to watch it online: its easier than trying to find it over here.

Thats all I can think of at the moment.

I'm in the middle, seeing that I'll turn 30 in a month. Yay!

I have stubbornly refused to watch TV series since I broke my heart on Firefly. I will occasionally catch an episode here and there of shows that look neat, but I don't bother obsessing over them until I can get the box set in my little paws.

I've enjoyed :
*BSG (the husband's fav show, he says that Firefly is a close second.)This is the only show I watch with any regularity, but that is due to the husband watching it weekly.
*Heroes
*the first part of the first season of Veronica Mars
Can I put anime on here? Like Rurouni Kenshin, Witch Hunter Robin and so on? Nom!

the random episodes I've caught of :
*Bones
*NCIS
*CSI etc
*Stargate
*Angel (yes, I admit that I haven't managed to see it in it's entirety just yet... *hide*)
*Alton Brown and Paula Dean off Food network.
*I'm a geek on History Channel and it's spin offs, as well as geeking on the other Discovery-esque channels.

There are probably more that I can't think of.

I'm also in the N Virginia area. Anyone else?

No, seriously - it was a 70s TV puppet show for young kids which was brilliantly recreated/spoofed in a dream sequence for "Life on Mars" (UK).

Don't count on it, we're mostly Americans. We don't grow up real fast. I don't know if you notice that from watching us

Actually for some reason, a subject that gets debated over here, in the UK it seems sci fi and fantasy are considered "kids stuff" and in the US they're taken more seriously. Older Brits it seems are supposed to switch over to watching the English patient, and movies about dead queens, which are sometimes fun, but are lacking in the girls throwing cops through walls dept.

Dr. Who we get here, sometimes. I don't have a TV, a friend of my sister's burns DVDs though.

I'm 24. And I don't actually watch that much TV any more. That probably because most of the shows I fall in love with get canceled in two seasons or less.

At the moment the only shows I'm really following are Burn Notice and Doctor Who. Occaisonaly I catch an episode of Chuck or Supernatural.
Sometimes I watch 11th Hour because I like seeing Rufus Sewel play the good guy for once. And I've also seen and enjoyed an episode of The Metalist, which, along with the upcoming Lie to Me (which I will give a shot as it stars Tim Roth), is essentially the same show as 11th Hour. While I enjoy an episode of these shows here or there, I would quickly get bored of if I watched them regularly.

Except, I think we take kids stuff quite seriously.
We did go through some very lean years in the 80s and 90s when the Establishment equated "SF/Fantasy" with "Kids". Even US imports like the various Trek spin-offs, Buffy and Angel were shown in kids' slots (and often cut - the version of Angel shown on terrestrial TV was barely comprehensible). It wasn't just SF: any sort of escapist action/adventure was looked down on.

Fortunately, the worst of that now seems to be over - possibly correlated with people who grew up with Doctor Who and Thunderbirds now being in their 40s and 50s and starting to reach positions of influence, aided by the success of things like the 'Who relaunch and "Life On Mars".

Of course, one factor is that many of the best UK SF/Fantasy shows past and present were aimed at kids. "Doctor Who" was originally conceived as a way to get kids interested in history and science; Thunderbirds/Captain Scarlet etc. were puppet shows.

On the other hand, I think we Brits have higher expectations of what counts as "grown up". In the 70s-80s (edit) we had shows like Blake's 7, Star Cops, Quatermass, Survivors (old style), Doomwatch, The Prisoner, UFO, Space 1999 (season 1) which (if you forgive them the effects and props) I'd say are far more intelligent and sophisticated than anything the US produced until the X-Files/Babylon 5/Buffy era.

In contrast, I've been watching re-runs of "Voyager" recently - not particularly ancient, but compared with current shows its pretty childish and patronizing, with its endless lectures about friendship and teamwork and subtle-as-a-brick moral allegories...
