i like stargate and the new sanctuary. are there any pa. browncoats in the harrisburg area, i would like to here from you. my email is marthasandusky@gmail.com i am looking for friends i can meet at a shindig. i like going to cons and going to concerts. im in my 50s but think young.

can't say I live near you, being in Australia...but I too enjoy Sanctuary, although I never got into the original Stargate. I loved the film with Kurt Russell, and I enjoy Atlantis, although I'm yet to see all of it.

Other shows I watch at the moment include Chuck, Eli Stone, How I Met Your Mother, Scrubs and Psych, among others. But then of past shows, I'd heartily recommend Carnivale (also cancelled before it could finish, although there are 2 seasons of it), Spaced, Black Books, The Office (UK)and possibly some others which I've now forgotten. But that'll do.

Anyone have any recommendations?

I'm nowhere near you either seeing as I'm in England (the original one, not the 'New' one).

As for other shows, currently it would be:
BSG, Lost, Supernatural, My Name Is Earl, TSCC, Burn Notice, Doctor Who.

Shows from yesteryear? Too many to type.

Lost! Of course! How could I forget that.
Lost is brilliant, can't wait for that to return.
I do also watch Supernatural, although I'm about 2 seasons behind. I just have way too much to watch. I also have the 2 seasons of TSCC to watch, along with the 2nd season of Burn Notice. *sigh*

Good luck on getting together with other PA Browncoats. I'm in Texas myself.

Current shows I am watching include Chuck, Life, Friday Night Lights, Battlestar Galactica, and Lost begins again this Wednesday. I also like Bones and Supernatural, but am not current with them and trying to catch up through Netflix. The Sarah Connor Chronicles returns Feb. 13 and that's when Dollhouse begins too, and I'm anxiously awaiting Eureka's return to Sci-Fi, but they haven't announced when that will be.

I had been watching Pushing Daisies and Eli Stone, although both have been canceled and we're not sure if ABC will air the final eps or put them online, or whether we'll have to wait for dvds.

ATL here, and I find myself watching Scrubs, How I met your Mother, Bones, Chuck, and now BSG. Burn Notice returns too! There are a few others, but I have the worst time keeping up with what show is on which day. Even for the shows I really like, I can't seem to recall what show comes on which day. Could be the age thing, or it could be that networks are routinely changing the nights they air their shows, plus the fact that sometimes they're re-aired during the week.

And Atlanta has a thing called DragonCon. Might be you've heard of it ? If not, give it a look see, Labor day.

Galactica is shaping up to be quite a ride in ints final 10 episodes

looking forward to LOST-but preparing for not many real answers

meanwhile I am enjoying watching some older shows

The Star Wars Clone Wars turned out to be better than expected. The 90 minute movie contained a fair amount of suckage, but the half hour shows appearing since then have been pretty good. Maybe because Lucas was involved with the movie, and not with the episodes.

The last season of The Shield was very good. Check it out on DVD.

Dexter, Burn Notice, BSG, Terminator, Chuck, Fringe. All good stuff. Certainly better than what was showing up in the 90s (with the exception of Twin Peaks, and a few other shows.)Some say its because TV shows are being shot like movies. Aiming higher. And those that are on cable can ditch a lot of the "program practices" restrictions. "The Wire", Deadwood and The Sopranos (which still seemed like a TV show) made great use of that. The Shield also had a better finale than The Sopranos, and I expct BSG will do equally well.

Otherwise -

Bones - If I can ever figure out in which order to watch them!

LOST - Superb. Watching it, is like playing a giant game! If only they could come up with more humour.

Supernatural - Great characters with brilliant special effects (anybody see that episode with the boatman who turns to a splash of water!!! Those were some very impressive special/visual effects -done in super slo-mo too!!! and it's as funny as any humour heavy episode of Buffy or Angel. Also it looks fantastic!

Burn Notice - Bruce Campbell and all that Cheese!! Plus interesting story. Again funny!

Smallville - The Superman arc (against my better judgement) is proving very enaging. Clark Kent is still a good character and the dynamic
between he and Lois is strangely compelling. Also to my mind has the best stunts on TV at the moment.
