I threw my hands up in despair and stormed out- movie and/or show moments with which we just couldn't deal...

But I disagree with REQUIEM FOR A DREAM. If you see it in the theater, it's an amazing movie that really hits you and makes you want to swear off aspirin, let alone drugs legal or illegal. You want to scare teens off of drugs, show them that.
Oh please no Reginaroadie... I'm so glad I didn't have the misfortune of being dragged to the cinema to watch this. (As I was with the 1st Harry Potter film!)
I don't much think it would work to deter kids or anyone off drugs. It's a self indulgent trip of simplistic righteousness and it is relentless. It slams it at you right from the beginning and doesn't let go. Melodrama follows melodrama with absolutely no narrative flow. It just didn't earn its right to be so preachy.
Anyway - ignore me... I must admit over the years my distaste for this film has maybe grown disproportionately so. I would therefore never want to put people off from watching it. I'm sure if you enjoy a little social commentary/human melodrama with your films you may enjoy this....
It just wasn't for me.
Napoleon Dynamite though I did like.

Quote:Ghost Rider sucked, which is surprising seeing as the Director's cut of Daredevil was so cool...

Was he even in that get-up? I thought it looked totally CG? I only saw it once so I can't be sure.

End of story.
A gorefest for the simple minded.
Sorry if you like it, but I cringed as my IQ dropped several points from the unadelterated ass-raping of History and Culture- Greek and Iranian both.

and my voice cracks when I sing from my heart
guess that's the price I've got to pay to know that I'm alive

Yes, Hayden was in the costume, though, he had to look out of the mouth piece, because he was a little shorter than the original Darth Vader actor. Even if it was CG, that still does not excuse the worst body language acting in history!

Meet the Hollowheads. This made no sense, had no plot, and not even anything to distract from the drug-induced ideas. "In the future, we will eat the tenticles of space creatures" Ugh. My sister has a talent for finding these movies. She has been forbidden from doing that anymore.
After the World Ended - watched this last night. At home. Considered walking out to the trash can with the dvd. But it was Netflix's so I just returned it. The premise was neat, a documentary of the last 180 people in San Fran, 12 years after a plague decimated the world. But I couldn't get into it. Everyone was too pretty, neatly washed/groomed/clothes in great shape. People still did their previous occupations, instead of working to get food. The only highlight was Adam Savage as an engineer that keeps electricity going.
Most 80's horror movies - why bother with a plot? Just throw blood around, and make sure there's lots of T and A. Ugh.
Facts of Life reunion - avoided like the plague bearing brain destroying waste it was. My mom and sisters watched it. I left and went to the opposite side of the house.
Anything with Ben Affleck. Pretty boy can't act.
Agree with Titanic, and Highlander after #1. Although, if you are a sexually repressed teenager, the sex scenes in Highlander 2 and 3 are enough to send you to your bunk.

The 'plot' of Napoleon Dynamite:
Nothing happens.
Nothing continues to happen.
Something random and unrelated to anything happens.
Ear-grating dialogue backed up with flat acting.
Cute girl number one.
Nothing happens.
Gosh!
Something kind of starts happening, but we're not sure which part of the 'story' matters in any way, shape, or form.
Cute girl number two. This one can act. She is the only one in the movie who can, and she has maybe three lines.
A few things happen that are vaguely related to things that sort of happened before.
Best moment in the movie. It involves gang bangers and no dialogue. At all.
Some sort of conclusion is reached and there is dancing.
Worst. Movie. Ever.![]()
