do you suppose Inara should try to take up some of the infirmary duties? I'm sure everyone will realize Simon's a bit "missing" when people start getting boxed around--perhaps she should resign herself to the inevitable :)

Sounds good to me, Ciara. One of the thoughts I had while posting Damon's collision with the computer was that it might give the characters who aren't shooting cannons, piloting ships or giving orders an opportunity to do something.
So take Damon wherever you want, he's not in much of a position to argue about it 
Boomer- I was wondering where you see this Kaylee/Damon tension going. I don't mind if it smooths over or if they continue sparking at each other but I just wanted to make sure that if they do keep arguing that it's intentional and not too much spur of the moment stuff.

Speaking of range, I just thought of something. With the cannon located under the bridge, the lower decks limit how far back it could shoot- and how high. so a ship behind or above them would be out of range.
My thought is that it could give Wash and Kaylee an opportunity to pull a Crazy Ivan at some point in order to quickly turn around and shoot someone behind them. 
What ya guys think?

OH,by the way Rowen, Kaylee and Damon.
I have been doing som re-reading, and if I have everything down correctly, the correction to the wires Kaylee made, were to what Merz ran after the tea party and no part of what Damon did.
Merz does not know this particular ship type and could have made an error, especially with a vessel that is already upgraded beyond spec. So someone should set someone straight and give Damon a break.
If you yell at Merz she is only going to insist you pry up the decking again and show her how to do it right so she remembers the next time.

Why thank you, Debs, that's very considerate of you. I did notice that actually, but I didn't want to point fingers at anyone over a minor inconsistency. But now that we are on the subject, Channain stated in her two part post that Damon had replaced the deck plating when it was actually Merz.
