Excluding the obvious Once More With Feeling (I was talkin' score, not song), what ep's music dazzled you? For me, no question; the battle in Chosen absolutly BLOWS ME AWAY!!!!
Sure, the Buffy/Angel theme is great, but really, after Chosen, nothing comes close for me.

What's your fave?

High note Chrisisall

The one that springs to mind right now is 'Conversations with Dead People' - I loved how the episode opened and closed with the song. It was a really haunting melody.

Drusilla dancing to 'Transylavian Concubine' at her party in 'Innocence' was so far beyond awesome I have no words to describe it. Utterly perfect for that scene.

There's a season six expisode during all the heavy Buffy/Spike stuff where Buffy walks past Spike's crypt and pauses. He can hear or smell her, and he leans against the door, but she walks away before he opens it. There's an absolutely beautiful song playing at that moment. I used to know the song, the singer and the name of the episode and now they've all deserted me! I know it had the lyrics "When we die we go into the arms of the people we love" which again was perfect for that scene.

Out of context, I adore Bif Naked's 'Lucky', but in the show it's ruined because it's the song they play when Buffy sleeps with that rat basta Parker.

*EDIT* GORRAMMIT I'VE LOST THE ABILITY TO READ!!! Forgive me, it's late here.

Score? There is absolutely no contest. Just about every scene of 'Hush'.

Okay, the score during the Buffy/First Slayer confrontation in 'Restless' is awesome too.

And the score when Faith crawls out of her grave in the dream sequence in 'This Year's Girl'

Dopplegangland is one that comes to mind. "Virgin State Of Mind" by K's Choice was playing when VampWillow walked into The Bronze. Cool song, if you get the chance to listen to it.

I think the standout score in a Buffy episode is 'Amends'. The violin at the start in the Dublin scene is great, but its really the 'magic snow music' (as Beck titled it!) at the end. I loved how it echoed the Buffy/Angel theme from season 2 (most notably at the very end of 'Becoming'), and was heard again in elements of the music at the end of 'I will remember you'.
Also the music playing at the end of 'The Wish' as Buffy, Willow and Xander die/get dusted. I was really pleased when I found a site with these up for free download.
In terms of the best song, I'm a sucker for the classics. 'Full of Grace' at the end of 'Becoming' and 'A Place called Home' at the end of 'Shells'.

PS. Frickin' comic store doesn't have Buffy #3 in yet. Next week the guy said. So I'm staying clear of the discussion until then! And I shouldn't be on the net at all, I have exams next week!

Best Music in a Buffy ep.?

- All of the wierd, eerie sounding stuff from "Restless" (not to mention Giles' concert in his dream) [season 4]

or

- Cibo Mato, from the season 2 opener

or

- Michell Branch at the end of that season 6 ep. (Tabula Rasa?)

Every time I see that "this is the world we made" scene at the end of 'The Wish' I get chills down my spine. It really is an excellent episode, not to mention a great What If!

Good luck in your exams! What are you studying? As for the Buffy comic, I'm learning that waiting for the trades was a bad, bad idea. *needs Buffy fix now* I wasn't sure comic shops would have it here. Turns out I was wrong.

Yep, it was T'abula Rasa'. 'Goodbye To You' *sniff*

The score to 'Restless' was awesome. Start to finish it was amazing, although I adored the music playing during Willow's dream, and the haunting, wordless song when Buffy faces off against the First Slayer.

I'm studying ecology, in my 3rd year of university. I've reached the point where my exam results start to determine the level of degree I leave with, so the stakes have been upped a bit!

I never liked the scene at the end of 'Tabula Rasa' - I thought it was too much of a repeat from the scene at the end of 'Lover's Walk', which was a great episode. Nasty little trick with the burial though - Cordelia's dead?!

I KNOW!!! That totally fooled me the first time! It still makes me smile when I see it.

It also drives me a little crazy. The guy who wrote 'Lovers Walk' also wrote 'The Zeppo' - another abolutely perfect Buffy episode. He'd never written for Buffy before season 3 and after season 3 he left and never came back!!!
