I'm gunna get the special addition... I had all the episodes that were aired on VHS, then my parents got me the boxed series for christmas when it came out... went and saw the movie 2 times with my pa, the first of which was the day it came out, then another 5 or so times (in theaters) with friends and such, got my dad into the series after the movie, got the movie the day it came out on DVD and planning on getting the special edition, but I am rather clingy, I will probably use the BDM original dvd to give out to friends and such, get 'em into the 'verse =) Still need to get a copy of the "Those Left Behind" comics, if I can find 'em anywere *shrugs*

im thinking of donating a firefly set to the library and hospital.
as for the dvd, its not mine alone so...

i may, however, throw it at zombies in self defense. (i do in fact collect vinyls, too.)

If you are interested in donating dvds to military personnel, two good places to work with can be found at www.dvds4troops.org or www.operationdvd.us

I've got 3 copies of the BDM now, one for me, one going to the library, and 1 I got from the netflix previously-viewed sale that will get sent overseas soon.

Donating DVD's whether new or old is a wonderful thing to do.
I had a nice experience today and it shows how this whole sharing FF/S works.

We have a customer who is a trucker and he takes many DVD's out on the road with him for layovers and downtime. He's been trading and sharing DVD's with me for some time...and recently I slipped a copy of the Serenity DVD in my returns to him with a note that it was a gift and for him to let me know what he thought. He called me today, raving about River and Mal and where the hell did I find this!

So I told him about Firefly and now he's stopping in the next big town and buying Firefly! Convert made. And he'll share with others, I'm sure of that.

I've heard first hand from military folks who've had Firefly shared with them that Mal on his little ship, fighting for his family ( crew ) was an inspiration to them. I cannot think of a better gift to share with folks so far away from home... who are out in the black themselves so to speak.

Every summer we go to a resort that shows movies every night on their closed circuit set-up. I'm going to leave them a copy to show in their rotation.
