Ernest Hancock will be broadcasting a discussion on Serenity on Monday from 6:00-8:00pm Arizona time (MST, GMT -7) on KFNX AM 1100. He encourages us to join the live Webcast or download the archive from his archive page at http://www.ernesthancock.com/archive/index.shtml.

I got it right away (a freedom lover can spot another very easily). I asked for some fans to come forward and found that the libertarian movement was full of them. So I have one from Tucson driving up to Phoenix to be in studio and another from Phoenix. One is a computer engineer I think and the other is a biogenetics lab scientist. My listeners let me know that the movie was coming so I wanted to start getting Phoenix ready for the "Serenity Party" we'll be having on opening day :)
My show is very political and often serious but this series was really making a statement and ready to go places so I know I can use its message in a way that will get my audience interested in it. I understand why the suits either didn't have a clue or were not supportive of the message.
It'll be a lot of fun. I hope a lot of fans tune in to hear how much impact the series is having long after its cancellation (also wouldn't be bad for the suits to hear - the archive will be there forever for them to check it out)
Let me know if you need me to do anything to help you promote it. The Internet streaming is available as well as the archive that will have the show up within 3-24 hours.

Wow, this is great. A whole two hour radio show just on Firefly. Is it me or is Firefly still doing the impossible?
I am definitely going to listen to those two hours but I have to figure out what time it is on since I live on the East Coast. So I think it is 7:00pm EST is when it will start here. Thanks for the heads up!
And as I said, "Serenity" is getting more media exposure very early on. This is usually a good sign for a movie.

Anyway, sounds great - I'll tune in! I don't think I'll enjoy the political part of it, but I must admit that the Firefly fan I work with IS a libertarian...

Hate to say it, but ya got it backwards. Any time in Mountain Standard Time is 2Hrs BEHIND Eastern Standard Time..making it 8-10 EST. That'll work out just fine.. comes on right after the Simpsons.

I view myself as a fiscal conservative / social liberal with libertarian leanings.
What disturbs me about this is the potential politicization of Firefly.
I'm all for getting the word out about Cap'n Tight Pants, all the gang and the genius of Joss ... but, I don't want it all wrapped up in anyone's political agenda.
