Buffy season 7 vs. Angel season 5: which do you like better?

I was completely drawn into Firefly through a commercial, how sad is that? By the time I finished with the first episode I was a stone cold junkie. With Buffy I took a not so straight path. I was hooked while watching a marathon then went and bought the first three seasons on DVD. If I had watched from the beginning don't know if I would have lasted. The first season has never really impressed me. Season three will always be my gold standard. The entire cast still together with Faith and the Mayor thown in to sweeten the pot.
BTW Chris, did you ever get that boxset of Supernatural? If so I'd like to get your take on that show.

Yep, Whedon and Co. had the benefit of two shows worth of experience before starting Firefly and it managed to get off to a smoother start because of it. Same thing can be seen in the differences between Buffy's and Angel's first seasons. Buffy takes the longest to work out the kinks and find its footing, whereas Angel has less stumbling blocks, and Firefly's are fewer still. The payoff of sticking with Buffy and Angel is well worth weathering the rough patches for.

Angel Season 5. I dunno. I thought it was a great ending. Buffy wrapped things up more nicely, but... I like how Angel's ending, in just the last five seconds, pretty much summarizes the whole series' point. :)
I wasn't as crazy for Smile Time as everyone else, but the Illyria stuff, hoooooly crap. Amazing in the wanna-kill-myself way. The good way Joss gives you that feeling, I mean. Hehehe.

With less focus on the potentials and more of Willow standing up to Kennedy and her bratty behavior, I'd choose BUFFY.
With more discussion or acknowledgement (however big or small) about Cordy, both before and after her death, I'd choose ANGEL.
As they were, I liked them both, but admit both had problems I could've lived without.
