So what'd the Browncoats think of this one?

I absolutely loved it. If BSG doesn't sweep the emmy's I'll cease caring about all award shows.
The character development, flash backs, story, ending, Roslin/Adama relationship. In my opinion this show is at its peak and gets better every single episode. Amazing.

It was a stunner, wasn't it? But then, so many BSG episodes are. It's because Ron Moore values character first, second, and last, so he writes (or produces) stories that advance character. This one did that in spades, didn't it? The stuff with Lee and Kara. . . . And even Adama and Laura, although I'm not entirely sure what to make of it. . .

I'm not sure what else there is to make of it other than that they care about each other. I've heard that Ronnie explained in the podcast that they didn't do it even though they left that up to the audience, although I haven't personally gotten to listen to it yet.

I was just really glad to see them revisit New Caprica and tie up some loose ends while still moving the story forward. Thats the difference between BSG and Heroes. I like Heroes as well but the entire last episode was a flash back and ended where the last one had. No forward progress.

I am so glad SOMEONE brought it up, because I was VERY impressed with last night's episode!

Great character developement; cannot wait to see how this effects all those around Starbuck & Apollo, but it definately will be interesting...was equally impressed with the Adama & Roslin storyline, which had always been more a subtle thing than an out in the open story. All around one of the best episodes so far...

THANKYOU!!! See, I hit up the BSG boards after the show and was surprised at the number of idiots crying, "we want more action" "we want more cylons" "whine whine whine."
Glad to see some intelligence from the Browncoats. I mean seriously, that ep was beyond amazing.

Yeah, I agree, it was really good. Of course I will have to watch it again because I was kinda drunk but if I thought it was good despite missing certain nuances, it has to be great. I heard that BSG might be moved from Friday nights, has anyone heard anything to that? I think I'd support such a decision because I try not to drink Friday night until after the show, but it just doesn't always pan out like that.

You would probably have to count me as one of those idiots even though I don't post on any other boards. I'm all for good character developement but enough is enough. For a show with the word "battle" in the title way too much time is spent with the characters getting in touch with their emotions. I'm not saying there should a massive free for all in each episode but there ought to be a better ratio of action vs. drama. Right now it is probably on the order of 80/20 in favor of drama. Other than the big rescue episode(one of the best single episodes of any show I have ever seen) there haven't been any stand out action sequences this season.

I didn't like it. Important storyline stuff took place, yes, so it was unmissable, but I am so infuriated with Lee and Kara right now I want to take them BOTH down with a left hook. If they manage to break up two marriages I will do it, I will jump into the screen and do it, I swear! I've seen this sort of thing happen too often in real life and it's so horribly painful, so life-destroying, that I really don't see anything exciting or fun or interesting about it. Just sickening.

I enjoyed watching Col. Tigh throughout in his role as referee. He didn't say much, but watch the ep again and you'll see Michael Hogan did a great job. As per usual.

I think it's pretty clear that Apollo and Starbuck aren't going to run away together. When they were in their final clinch of the night, they didn't say "I love you" to each other. They said, "I miss you" and "I miss you, too."

I think it was more of a renewal of friendship and a healing between them, than a desire to drop their respective spouses and be a couple.

Could be wrong, a'course. Happens more often than not lately. *grins*
