MET A NEW FAN

Monday, December 5, 2005 4:56:48 PM

I find it slightly annoying when people are reading a book in public, especially a quiet place, and they can't stop laughing to themselves about what they're reading. This happened today when I was trying to sleep outside of my American Literature class(I get there early). I finally opened my eyes to see what the girl was reading that she just couldn't stop laughing at and to my great jubilation it was the Serenity novelization. I asked her if she was a firefly fan and she responded yes very enthusiastically. Apparently she was converted from the reruns on SciFi(most new fans I've met have been, I think it has done a world of good) and like the rest of us, now can't get enough of our BDH. :-) After our brief conversation she went back to her book and I went back to my nap. Yet whenever I heard her laughing again I couldn't help but smile to myself just thinking at whatever joke she might have just read.

I stumbled upon Firefly during its original run on Fox. My mom and I were looking for something to watch in the TV guide and thought it sounded interesting. The first episode we saw was bushwacked and I was hooked instantly. My mom thought it was to scary and didn't watch them anymore even though I got her to watch the whole series when I bought the beautiful DVD set and she loves them now, as well as my brother....and my girlfriend...and her mom, and my sister and her husband and the list goes on....
My favorite episode is without a doubt "Out of Gas."
I'm presently attending Florida State University majoring in creative writing.
I can also be found from time to time playing Starcraft on Battle.net under the alias JayneCobb.
