Buffy season 7 vs. Angel season 5: which do you like better?

Out of the more serious episodes that season, I'd have to say "You're Welcome" is my favorite. Cordy had such a profound effect on the show, and I think it was a wonderful send-off for such a great character.*************************************************

I am with you all on the season 5 Buffy thing. I call that the season of Scrappy Doo. That is the one thing I have never fully forgiven Joss for. I would have loved Buffy much more without the annoying whining twit named Dawn. Notice how her name is a 4 letter word? Okay...I'll get off my rant now..

Angel as a muppet was great for comic value, but for storyline I just wasn't impressed. You have to remember for me though I was still wanting the "happily ever after" for Angel. I loved him and Buffy together and the intro of Spike, well, that was just grand...I never got to see it happen and never believed that Buffy would turn her back on Angel. She would never believe, regardless of his headquarters being at Wolfram and Hart that he had gone in league with them.

Well, gee, five was my favorite season of Buffy.
I know Dawn was annoying at first, but I really liked her character after awhile.

Personally, I'm not a Buffy shipper. For any of her relationships (and yes, that includes Riley). By the end of the series, I was so disgusted with her and the choices she'd made that I felt all of her former boyfriends could have done better. But then, that's just me.

DG I did not mean to offend and certainly hope I did not. I learned to tolerate Dawn even if I never liked her.

As for the Buffyships well...Angel and Spike were the only ones I did like. I liked the whole dark humor of it. I did get tired of her complaining about being with Spike and the fact that she was sooo ashamed.
All the more reason I do not believe that Buffy judged Angel poorly for working at Wolfram and Hart.

I like S5 of Angel better than S7 of Buffy.
I also like S3 of Angel better than S7 of Buffy. And S2 of Angel. And S1 of Angel. And S6 of Buffy. And S5 of Buffy...
See where I'm going with this? 
The last season of Buffy might be better than the first season, or S4 of Angel, but for me, it ranks (far) behind all the rest...

And keep in mind that you also phrased the question as "Which do you like better?" So I answered by saying that I like S5 of Angel better. Not even talking about the quality or any of that right now--just what I get the most enjoyment out of watching.
Between the two shows, there were 12 seasons, and season 1 and 7 of Buffy, and 4 of Angel, without a doubt fill spots 10-12 on my list when ranking my favorites. After thinking about it a little more today after my last post, I'd probably have to say I like S1 better than S7, if only because Buffy herself was still a likeable character back then, not the uber-annoying, speechifying cardboard cutout she turned into in S7. (Oh, and there's no question as to when SMG looked hotter, S1 or 7--1, hands down.)
And since you brought it up, Chris (not sure why, but you did, so I'll respond to it
), I tried 2 or 3 eps of Dark Angel back in the day, was singularly un-impressed, and stopped bothering to tune in.But hey, that's me. Go figure, indeed.
