Just realized that my Copper Cobra, made of a piece of stripped coax cable, has gone missing from behind my monitor here at work. Oh, the humanities.

All I have left now is the vend-pack of "NEW! Bacon Curls Microwave Pork Rinds (Original Flavor). Hot! Fresh! & Crispy!" that's been pushpinned to my various cube walls for the last 15 years. It bears a small sign (printed with a dot-matrix printer, as verification of its age) saying "WARNING For Emergency Use Only"

Fortunately, that emergency has never come, although I've been on the brink a few times.

I second Merz's assertion that everybody has a Soul-Mate ...

Even then it isn't easy.

Here is my addition - just to keep the male poetry flow going!
{even though mine is old and really rough and unpolished}

This is for you Merz ... my t'hyla, it always was.

BINARY

As I dance my way through the darkling quietus of the Void

My movements shaken by trembling heart and weary soul

Forms drift into view, some to fade - others twirl away in fright

Suddenly I am caught by one who is at once both shrouded and revealed

My heart tremors harder, insistent on retreat

Yet, we are drawn closer ...

We spin in orbit of each other, only to fly away wrapped in fear

The connection stretches and strains, attempting to tear and shatter

To no avail, fear cannot destroy the intertwining gravity of our souls brief touch

Again we are drawn together as two stars locked in an eternal embrace

Forever connected, but never to touch.

My t'hyla, My Capn! I am, as always, utterly overwhelmed.

And too true to boot. As once I promised, a part of you has remained mine for all the years between, and ever shall.

Happy Valentines Day All!

What a perfect time of year for the poetry fest.

Gentlemen, keep it coming

Geezer, hubby has tried microwave pork rinds before. Pray that the emergency NEVER comes up. They taste alright when they're done, but man alive do they stink like nobody's business while they're cooking! Like to run us all outta the house...

Oh, and I don't have anything on my monitor anymore. I used to have a big "A" that my son made me in 5th grade (for my name), and a stuffed Blastoise from Pokemon (don't ask). Now my HUGE monitor (which hubby liberated from a storage room at work) is empty. Truly sad.

Happy Valentine's Day. Mine was made better by chocolate.

And to all.

Way OT, but "Sonnet for Madame Geezer" was a great Valentine's success, with much quivering of chin and "Oh, sweetheart". And I owe it all to FFF.net and the Gunrunners for jumpstarting my muse. Thanks one and all.
