I'd like to echo Squee's "ooh! ooh!"
Rowan has some systems expertise that would lend itself well to the guns project. Otherwise, I found myself wondering the other day what the other console on the bridge is for. I thought, what if it's an operations console, where a second person can keep tabs on the rest of Serenity so the pilot can focus on his piloting? I figure with just Wash up there, he and Kaylee figured ways to patch the systems from the second console over to Wash's. But with Rowan on board, they could at least have someone to keep tabs on things, give Wash and/or Mal a chance to catch some shut-eye or move on to captainy things.

Also looks like they are planning on easing ROWAN and DAMON into the regular crew.
That's the kind of initiative I like to see.

Hey SSon - thanks and I'm happy you approve. You can ask Astriana - I was nervous about assuming Jayne voce without discussing it with you. Bugs me a lot, actually. But the encounter I wrote won't be the last, so if you don't mind me utilizing Jayne, I may "make use" of him later 
I'll be e-mailing, let you know what I have in mind. I don't recall what it was we discussed before.
Hope some manner of sanity finds its way to you soon so you can come back and play with the rest of the kids.

And yes, I can vouch for Channain's nerves regarding Jayne voce. And I think she did a fantabulous job - managed to stay right within Jayne's proper voice...

I'd like to have that chat with Simon sometime later, and maybe have a little awkward time with Jayne about Inara's earlier stint of unconciousness in his quarters--plus the Inara/Mal/Thorne arc
