I've actually been compared to freckin Nick Cage on more occasions than I'd like to remember. Anyways, the picture's not very accurate. My hairline's off, I got crooked teeth, and the scar... it's not a pretty sight. I've suffered too much trauma to the head to come out looking pretty. It's not upsetting or anything, just the way things turned out.
Tristan - Mmm, wasn't meaning that to be funny, but you're not the first one to laugh at that analogy. I don't take offense to it or nothing, I guess it is ridiculous to compare everything in life to war. But really, war is just an extension of politics, and politics are (in theory) the process of solving conflicts and problems. The Kanji for "Bu" translates to "War" or "Martial", but it is made up of two separate kanji, "Tomeru" which can mean "Prevent" or "Solve", and "Hoko" which means "Conflict". I suppose I'm getting a little too philosophical and moving away from logic... but that's my opinion of warfare. It is a means to solving problems, and can be applied to any problem you have.
EDIT: Eh, and now I'm realizing you were referring to the post in it's entirety, and not just the opening line. Yeah, I threw some jokes in there. I still take the overall strategic approach seriously, though. Anyone who's actually read the kama-sutra outside of sexual positions should recognize the things I highlighted from it.

! Hello Li'l sis! My book collection includes childhood favourites - like Laura Ingalls Wilder & A.A. Milne, Crime novels - Patricia Cornwell & Peter Corris, biographies of movie stars, teachers, politicians, noted historic and public figures, monarchs, authors... Lots of fiction in cluding Dickens, Austen, the 3 Bronte sisters, plays from Shakespeare to Pinter to Chekov, poetry & prose and lots of text books, mainly on history, theology, spiritual and drama/acting or photography... I keep all my theatre programs, travel books/guides... and some sci-fi novels and collectors books... but they are all in storage at the moment...
I think trust and love have an element of risk to them - when you really love someone you don't expect them to hurt you, but you usually invest so much of yourself in them that you are unintentionally hurt from time to time... it is how you deal with these situations and whether you grow from them and therefor have a stronger relationship or just keep muddling through with a few more 'weak points' in there, that makes or breaks a relationship IMO... But there are people who know what will ultimately happen to them as they repeat behaviour or put up with repeated behaviour - I think whey you are emotionally involved with someone you rarely use your head alone to make decisions so you are at risk of loving someone who will ultimately hurt you... I'd like to think I wouldn't - but I honestly don't know - I have ended relationships for lack of trust or inappropriate behaviour, but I'm not certain that I was ever really in love with those particular men... so... I'm not sure...

I would go on a whole ramble about Tantra, but I think I explained some of the basics as well as I could last time I talked about spirit and sex, so I just won't.
I have kind of a ponderable; is there anything someone can do, in your first interaction with them, that just triggers a bit of a "You're dead to me" response? I've had it happen a few times, just wondered who here had a similar thing, and whether it depended on gender at all.
