evenin' Imponderables.

I hope you are all having a good night/morning/whatever. I didn't really see anything for the pondering, so I thought I would add something:

Do your kitties live in your house, or are you on the staff in theirs?

Hello All!! ShinyKitten - thanks for the emails - I will reply when I have more time online! I was so glad that I didn't have to keep getting up and hand out lollies and treats last night!! Still - it does sound like fun... *looks a little whistful* I will have to make sure I am in the USA one year to experience it! When I was living in the UK it was all about the kids sitting near the corner shop with a very dodgy looking dummy/doll and muttering 'can-you-spare-a-penny-for-the-Guy' which sounded more like 'an'u'pare'apenny'fot'h'gay' which threw me the first time - especially as it was still 3 weeks til Guy Fawkes Day - hey we'll have to have a new pyre for that one with the forsaken!

I have had no end of trouble getting on line today - I have attempted to trouble shoot 2.. yes two!! computers and failed so I will be hosting a tech at my folk's place from 7.30am tomorrow and hoping I can play more then... til then I am at the local library and keep having to stiffle my giggles so that I don't 'get my ass shushed!' *giggles for the benefit of ShinyKitten!*

'Til I can come and play tomorrow here's my most good thing to happen today - I was pulled up at traffic lights and the car in the next lane in front of me had 'Serenity' in Chinese characters on her back windscreen!!! I was so excited I started waving madly at her ...but she obviously thought I was some psychotic 'Creative Memories consultant' or whacko Christian as the only stickers I have on my car reflect those aspects of my life! I will so have to get a Browncoat/Serenity/Firefly thingy now!!!

Tristan - missed you Honey! Thanks for the kisses/hugs & everything! Right back at you!

MsG, Mei Mei & NVG!! Hugs and kisses to you all too! I am so excited that we're going to meet at D*C NVG!!

RIMG, over the years I have had 3 cats that I have lived with at different times. I must admit that I was a staff member in their house. It's probably why I don't have another right now. I'm tired of living with opinionated cats that make their wants known on a daily basis.

Magda, sorry to hear that you are having technical problems. I hope you get it fixed tomorrow.

Hope everyone had a fun time trick or treating.

oooh, i am totally a member of the cat's household! my baby girl Jo pretty much rules my life. but i don't mind cause i LOVE cats, always have. i think i put a pic of her up in the Pub thread(?)uummmmm...could have been the forsaken thread...oh well here it is anyway she's so pretty! one half of her face is a dark brown and the other is really light.

Heya Magda! you are the bestest!
thanks for the giggles earlier...the librarian really comes out in me sometimes...there were noisy undergrads in the computer lab today at uni and a bunch of my classmates and i (also questing to be librarians) were in there too. you could totally see all of us get really on edge at the same time, and all consider if we would go over and 'talk' to them about it- these kids were being SO loud and inconsiderate in a shared space...Bah!

I'm a Librarian...don't make me shush your ass!!

ShinyKitten, you should have sent your ambitious kitty over to straighten out those unruly undergrads. Your kitty would have scratched them until they ran in fear. Did you see the vids that JonnyQuest had on one of the threads? It had a cat chasing a bear. Some felines are totally fearless.

mornin' Imponderables.

To answer my own question, as much as I try to maintain that it is my own house, I tend to feel more like a staff member to them as well. We have three cats, and while I am not overly fond of them, I still do a lot to make them comfortable (read: spoiled).

Hope you all had a good Halloween/Samhein yesterday. I took my boys out to get candy and play a little at a church we had never been to (and may not ever go back to) and was actually able to be polite and converse with them, though I am sure if they knew my true nature they would either shun me completely or spend the whole night in an attempt to 'save' me.

Dogs have owners. Cats have staff. Or 'minions'. You do not own a cat, you merely minister to it's every need and desire.

I mean - cats. Decorative, not functional. You make them happy, and all they have to do in return is to make a pleased noise. If they feel like it. What a cool life.

Picture this - four grown adults sitting on the floor, rather than turf the sleeping cat off the sofa. None of these adults own the cat (mine) which has wandered into their house and glared at them until they got up and let it have the warm spot. True story.

Uh Oh - was it 'one of those churches' RIMG? I would have to say that we don't try to 'save' people at our church - just try to be there for those who want to know more about our faith - it's a really nice community actually... and we have a almost-Goth and an 'alternative-type' (sorry I don't like labelling folk and don't know how else to describe this gorgeous girl) there most Sunday mornings! We generally just have a fun, supportive, caring and sometimes reflective community!

Ah... where was I? Oh yeah - forsaken I think...? Might go dance by the pyre...

Hey Kaylee Clone! I have missed being in touch with you! I have managed to get the dial up working now - but I had some fun doing it!!

Is it just me or is it quiet in here today - are we all hung over from the lollies and other junk food festival??
