Well obviously if they'd carried on into a 6th year then sure they'd probably have reopened that storyline, but since there was no 6th year the scene in which Angel signs away the prophecy becomes an even more powerful statement, and can certainly be considered a conclusion to that plot thread.

*sigh*
Why oh why did they cancel the series??? Things were getting interesting too...

I'm too easily swayed by others arguments. And I don't have the attention span to stay in the argument long enough to make an impact.
Still...

To Psandusky,
Although my understanding of languages in practically nil I suspect that the spout of (German?) was not a compliment.
According to my translator you have a problem with broadband???

P.S: I know this has nothing to do with anything Angel/Buffy but I was wondering what on earth you were talking about. =)

I believe the German part is the signature...

IMO, season 3 was really rather good. It introduced Holtz (AKA the biggest baddest VanHelsing style vampire hunter in the world! [by the way i don't mean the Hugh Jackman Van J
Helsing, since that incarnation just wasn't cerebral enough for my tastes])as the main villain and also set the scene for Wesley's transformation from wimpy watcher wannabe into a tormneted badass demon slayer.
Also, the character of Connor was so wasted. I mean he had such potential but then they went and reuined it in season 4 with that massively overly complicated Jasmine plotline and having him shack up with Jasmine/Cordy (which always confuses me). And while we are on the subject how come as soon as he looses his virginity Connor becomes the most gullible little sack of crap on this fair and fluffy world of ours?
If you ask me season 4 had a lot of potential but the plot became overly complicated and self absorbed. Why couldn't they just have had a nice little angst ridden season filled with Connor and Angel coming to terms with each other and kept the beast (and maybe Angelus) as the 'bigbad' without all of that 'evil Cordy' stuff?
Ah to heck with it, season 5 kicks both of their wimpy asses anyway...

For both 3&4 it would have to be the fact that Connor couldn't accept Angel as a good guy. I mean come one Cordy "healed" him and he saw how everyone followed Angel and all the good to the world Angel did. Connor was a great character to add but nobody hates a good guy for that long.
