Kitty Pryde also timetravelled in Days of Future Past. Here's the wiki article:

In the Days of Future Past timeline (Earth-811), Shadowcat goes by the name Kate Pryde. Kate attempts to go back in time to prevent the slaughter of all superhumans. Although she succeeds in preventing the cause (the assassination of Senator Robert Kelly by Mystique and the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants), she only creates a separate timeline where anti-mutant sentiment is still strong and their eventual persecution seems inevitable. Back in her own time, she helps Rachel Summers escape back to the timeline she just created. Captured by sentinels, Kate manages to escape by accidentally phasing which merges her with a time warp that sends her to the timeline Rachel is inhabiting. Kate’s mind settles in a small, metal, off-spherical body and becomes known as Widget. After a few adventures in that timeline, Widget / Kate regains her memory and returns to her original timeline where she is able to reprogram the ruling sentinels to protect life, ending their tyranny.

Did any of you guys check out the second ep? Oh man, I was so psyched by the end, when Hiro realized that not only had he jumped across an entire ocean and continent in the blink of an eye, but managed to travel five weeks into the future, just in time to find out that a month from now, all of New York will be nuked. And then to jump back.

So not only do we have a superhero series, but also a quasi-time travel series, and on network TV no less.

And with Buffy 2.0, that bit where she was knocked down by the football player and got her head twisted around, God that creeped me out when she went all Linda Blair.

And the intro to Greg Grunberg's character was played really well, especially since it kind of introduced I guess the super-villain of the show. Although I don't get why he freezes his characters and then eats their brains. Oh well.

I'm definitly going to be checking this one out week after week next to STUDIO 60.

Thanks to patsrule, I was able to catch the pilot on the web just in time to quick make supper and then watch the second episode. I'm loving this show so far.

1. I think the Cheerleader and Hiro oughta get together. Their lives would never be boring, that's for sure.

2. The villain freezes people and eats their brains because he is one of these mutants too, he can freeze stuff, but he's gone bad and hates everybody. Especially other mutants. He wants to track them all down and do the same to them. In fact, I think he thinks he takes their power when he does that.

3. The skeleton in the desert?--I bet it's Stripper Girl's ex. (Though the premise of a body buried 2 inches in desert dirt staying put long enough to skeletonize is a big stretch.)

****SPOILERS AHEAD!****

Caught it and liked it. The story is moving along a little better.

The end made me go WTF?!? The artist is dead with the top of his head sawed off and his brain removed. WTF?!? Then we see that not only did Hiro teleport he went forward in time to the day of the nuclear explosion. At least it appears to be a nuclear detonation.

What's up with the killer pinning the mother to the staircase with utensils? The dad is frozen solid at the dinner table? WTF?!? The top of his head cut off and his brain removed? What is with all the brain removing. Is this the cheerleader's dad doing this stuff? Is he a metahuman too?

I didn't agree with the FBI spook arresting the cop, but I guess it will play out in plot development and getting all the heroes together.

What is up with the stripper mom? She blacks out on the road and winds up in the parking lot of the airport in different clothes? I guess that is when her other self (for lack of a better explaination) cleaned up the garage, found the '59 Caddy, put the bodies in the trunk with the map, and left the shovel in the desert. That is one creepy power.

What did everyone else think?

I'm loving this.

Okay, now Hiro knows what the stakes are (I loved that the date Hiro gave was the actual date: October 2). He just has to get in touch with the others to avert the disaster.

I'm getting the impression that "freezing-guy" and "brain-extracting guy" are two different people --the Prophet's body wasn't frozen. (I'm just gonna go ahead and give these guys codenames until I get their real names straight. ) Whoever pinned the woman to the wall was obviously a telekinetic (only other way involves super strength, but why go to the trouble of pinning her up there?), so that's who we're looking for.

And I don't think the brains are being eaten, just extracted. Possibly someone trying to analyze the mutation --they're obviously tied into the central nervous system (we know 'cause most of them either seem controllable or have some affect on consciousness/perception), which means that the brain plays a critical role.

Claire ("Cheerverine") seems to think that the mutations are genetic, which makes sense (especially in light of the flying brothers). I have a hunch her birth-parents are going to play a critical role (whether or not her dad was telling the truth about contacting the adoption agency).

That girl Mohinder met in the building --there's more to her than we've seen. The way she grabbed the gun and immediately sized up the situation is suspicious. Normal people aren't that cool under pressure. Also, that guy planting the bug --did anyone else get the impression he had higher-than-normal strength? Something about the way Mohinder went flying when they guy kicked him suggests that either Mohinder's deceptively lightweight or the guy was kicking him much harder than he seemed to.

I'm totally with you there. That girl was pretty little, like me, and if I saw a guy with a gun, I would probably just faint or something. The kick also stood out to me. As soon as I saw Mohinder go flying I thought, "that's a Buffy kick!" I've missed having people with super strength on TV

Was anybody else really bothered by how they shot the two brothers flying? The swirling cameras just made it look...cheap and fake.

Well, flying is hard on a live-action TV budget --the best I've ever seen was Lois & Clark, and even it was mostly what we saw in Superman II (blue-screen, composited into long shots, often wildly out-of-scale with backgrounds and seeming to fly sideways). Granted, that was a while ago, so I'm hoping that future flight scenes will be better-done, as the VFX departments (and the brothers) hone their skills.

Besides, they needed to keep it obscure as to exactly what happened, to make the last scene's big revelation work.

That's a good point...and now that I think about it, I can't remember seeing any good flying...anywhere. OK, I'll forgive them!
