Do we know how many episodes she would be back for? I miss Dru. She's a wonderful character. I love those random things she says.

Gawd yes. A lot of people complain that her rants are repetitive, but I don't see that.

I do believe it is probably easier to write interesting stories for Angel, Spike, and Darla. However, I don't think anyone can invent a vampire who is more purely fun to watch than Dru. I always welcome any appearance she makes on either show.

More than that, Dru's rants get creepier on second viewings. Perfect example: "Crush" In the big, climatic scene Harm and Spike are duking it out. Meanwhile Dru is fighting a chained-up Buffy. Dru gains the upper hand, saying something to the effect of: "I hear a funeral dirge for you... [suddenly distracted] ... but it's not here." At this point, Spike rescues Buffy.

In retrospect, we can look at this line and interprate it this way: Dru could sense that Buffy was going to die soon, but not by Drusilla's hand. A clear foreshadowing of "The Gift," the line is cryptic to the point that it only makes sense after the fact.

Which brings me to my next point. So far, Drusilla has never been a stand alone villian. That is to say, the writers always pair her up with someone else (Spike, Angelus, Darla, combo) to act as interperator. But since Darla's dead at the moment, and the boys are all soul-having, it makes me wonder. Who will ME pair Dru up with this time (Fungus demon?), or will Dru finally be a solo act? Tune in next time to find out!

I would love to see Dru as a stand alone villainness. I disagree that the pairings were to act as an interpreter. It seems to me that everyone else has been there more to keep her in check. She's so crazy that she does all this really bad stuff that could get her caught or killed, but that is also some of the darkest vampire stuff that gets attempted (the Judge, going after the little boy at the park, trying to poke out the eyes of her lackeys, pouring holy water on Angel). Someone's always there to protect her. I would love to see how wild and crazy she could get with no one around to keep her in check.

That and Dru has wacky magic telepathic powers that other vampires don't have. Interesting.

I heard one theory that she was a woman blessed with the visions like Cordy was from the Powers that Be.

Interesting that Cordy recently flipped out over Angel. Wonder if Dru had anything to do with it.
