If insulting my intelligence counts, can I nominate Revenge of the Sith?

From the buzz-droids crawling around on a starfighter and falling off, to the Invisible Hand's deck turning 90 degrees when the ship turned, to Anakin's suddenly turning Evil, to Palpatine's out-of-character over-the-top acting, to Grievous' death, to the "let's give away the only remaining secret of the original trilogy" ending, to Vader's Frankenstein impression. . .

Oh, just one scene? Anakin's snap-decision to turn Evil(tm) then. 'Cause apparently falling to the Dark Side isn't a "process" so much as a sudden and deliberate decision. Oh, and it confirms that Anakin Skywalker will now be called "Darth Vader," so the entire original trilogy just loses all of its emotional and dramatic value.

I must say, the entire prequel trilogy was pretty bad in my opinion. I figured, "WHY do I need to see what I already knew happened!" I'll have to agree with you about Palps over the top acting.

Select to view spoiler:

particularly in his Mangulation scene, Mangulation's a word...now.

But Manakin's Frankenstein impression was the thing that COMPLETELY ruined the prequel trilogy for me.

Armagedon with Bruce Willis, Liv Tyler and Ben Affleck.

Offensive to the intellect. They did not try to make one single thing scientifically correct.

Getting back to the theme of the thread, put me down for the scene in Dune where the villain spits in the face of whats-his-face's mother. I really liked Francesca Annis, too. Yuck!

For me, the most offensive scene that I can think of off the top of my head was in Deep Impact. Morgan Freeman, the president in the movie, had a plan to put the important people in a cave so the nation can live on, and he said something to the effect of "People will be chosen at random to enter the cave and live on, but first, we will preselect the nation's best doctors, scientists, teachers, and artists to survive" I was so offended that they lumped in artists as it was such a self applauding, out-of-touch thing to say. That one line completely took me out of the movie, and I hated it ever since.

I often felt that movies with Keanu Reeves should have some kind of warning label or something.

I'm confused as to why it would offend you to mention artists as great thinkers that would help preserve the human race.
What I remember thinking was the stupidest bit about "Deep Impact" was the scene where the kid who found the commet (this was years ago that I saw it, so bear with me) is talking to his girlfriend, and she basically says "No I'd rather stay here with people I love and die than go with you and live" and then as he's leaving she runs after the bus sobbing like a loon. WTF? I am remembering that right, aren't I? What a stupid little girl.
However, the most offended I've ever been was watching Episode One. Thanks for ruining Star Wars!

It offends me that an "artist" portrays the President and says that artists are more important than everybody else and deserve special considerations.

What the hell do Bruce Springstein and U2 do to deserve to live automatically while you and I just have to hope to win a lottery? That idea is so offensive to me, it makes me mad again just thinking about.

It also raises the question of what he means by "best" artists. Most popular? Make room in the vault for Brangelina and their spawn!
