"Artist" does not automatically mean "celebrity". When I think of artists I think of people like Leonardo DaVinci, who was brilliant, not just as an artist but an inventor. And without the inventors, the world grinds to a halt.

An insincere and evil friend is more to be feared than a wild beast; a wild beast may wound your body, but an evil friend will wound your mind. - Gautama Siddharta

If you genuinely think he was talking about Leonardo DaVinci (or a modern day version), you are deluding yourself. He was talking about Grammy winners, Academy Award Winners, Tony Award Winners, Emmy Award winners, etc. Hollywood is a self applauding entity and they were taking another chance to self applaud.

Offensive to the intellect. They did not try to make one single thing scientifically correct.

You´re right, HR. However, Armageddon was a masterpiece compared to one of the worst movies of all time "The Core". Remember? The earths rotation had stopped and a bunch of weirdos are drilling their way towards the earths core to nuke it and SUCCEED?! I mean, how much worse can a script get?

Pick any scene from that piece of s*** if you like, from Magmawave-Surfing to the attack of the giant crystal-things. This is clearly below zero.

A.

Ted Striker: My orders came through. My squadron ships out tomorrow. We're bombing the storage depots at Daiquiri at 1800 hours. We're coming in from the north, below their radar.

Elaine Dickinson: When will you be back?

Ted Striker: I can't tell you that. It's classified.

Someone mentioned Episode I! I must agree. The whole thing but if you really want a single scene then I have to go with the "whoopee" scene...no wait, I think there are actually two of them. Jake Lloyd wasn't a grood actor but he wasn't horrible as kids go. I believe the blame for those totally inapropriate and out of character exclamations goes to our good friend, Mr. Lucas and whoever in the editing room thought they were good things to leave in.
And the podracing scene. Did it really have to be that long. And didn't Sebulba yank something off of the kid's racer? How does fiddling with a couple of switches fix that?

Since I mentioned overly long racing and/or chase scene...how about the one in MI2 (I was young and stupid when I watched it) or all of them in the Matrix sequels? Why is it so gorram facinating to watch cars and/or motorcyles chase each other around at high speeds for 20 minutes? Ok, slight exageration but if I wanted to see that I'd go to a ruttin' Nascar race. Movies are supposed to have a story in there somewhere.

And to everyone who mentioned Event horizon...Thank you! I hated that whole movie. It was basically just a bloodbath (litterally at some points) with no point or purpose.

Op: You're fighting a war you've already lost.
Mal: Yeah, well I'm known for that.

I had almost forgotten.
The only movie I ever rented that no amount of beer or pizza could make me sit all the way through.

That's (offensive) entertainment Chrisisall

Jar Jar Binks. What the hell was Lucas thinking?

But the all time worst has to be Ultraviolet. I've never walked out of the theater while viewing a Sci-Fi film, until I started watching this one.

Morbid and creepifying I got no problem with, so long as you do it quiet like.

I'm going to have to go old school, all the way back to the 80's and say Cherry 2000. Yes that's Cherry 2000 with Melanie Griffith. Plot: Guy accidentally breaks his love bot and then travels hundreds of miles across a Mad Maxesqu wasteland led by, Melanie Griffith, to get a new model. Offensive to women, robots, and anyone with half a brain. Even Jayne would have been appalled.

Phaedra (a bad luck name)

Help me Phaedra, I think I lost the left frontals or something.
I own the DVD, and like the Heck out of it.
The final message is to trust another person with your feelings...that ain't so bad, is it?
(Plus: Basil Poledouris did the music...)

I think it's a hoot and a half.

Don't hate me Chrisisall

*is keeping very quiet because she loves Armageddon*

Sometimes it's nice to just switch the brain off and enjoy some big special effects... Heck, it makes you appreciate the great movies like Serenity all the more!

While I haven't seen the movie (it's yet to be released) and I don't know the genre, I did read that in Dakota Fanning's next movie she does partial nudity and is raped.

A 12 year old girl nude and raped on film? I suspect that's gonna' be pretty G.D. offensive...
