I know you heard it before but the man is HOT!! It's the whole dirty, RAW, bad guy package. I know if we were getting it on ,the man would protect me with his big muscles and Vera. And he also kinda has a gentle side... like when he was brushing the whore's hair in "Heart of Gold". Plus he says things that people think of but are afraid to say all the time. It also helps that he has the big gruff voice thats dead sexy.

Jaylee is...EWWW. 
SO wrong on SO many levels. True, opposites attract, but their core values and beliefs are way too different, for starters.
That said, why do I love Jayne? Same reason I love Simon, Mal, and Wash.
Just LOOK at the man! 
He needs a girl who's a bit like him, an ass-kicking, name-taking 
who can keep up with him.

Jayne is totally straight forward. He says exactly what he means. He is genuinly sorry when he hurts someone unintentionally. He is uniquely considerate ( brushing the girls hair in heart of gold). Sure he's flawed, but not beyond the allowable limit. He obviously cares for and takes care of his family and despite grumbling as a general rule takes care of his Serenity family. He seems to have been raised without any boundaries or understanding of empathy, but he develops it well with help. He's just a fairly decent, honest, kind, and manly guy...what's not to like

Can't think of anything much new to add to this thread, to be honest. It's more a 'stand up and be counted' post.
Jayne Cobb. Muscles. Blue eyes. That grin. And then watch him playing the guitar on Haven in the BDM. Big, sexy bad-boy musician. Watch the way he sharpen knives, too. Care, consideration and very big hands.
Er...basically I wrote 40,000 words as to why a woman would love Jayne, so I'm biased.
So far, I haven't read a Jaylee or a Rayne to convert me. And any of the Brokeback Spaceship stuff out there scares me...

I read a slash story about Wash giving Mal a hummer in the Mess with Zoe watching. It made my skin crawl. I now avoid non canon pairings. Can't fathom Rayne/Jaylee either. Somewhat unsettlin'.
