Good to hear from you again. I was just about to send you e-mail to see where you'd gone.
Congrats on the Smithsonian gig!

On his way to the kitchen, Safe is distracted by Amy and trips over a mysterious object.
'Was that a leg?' Safe thinks as he tumbles to the floor. 'Flechettes leg tripping me?'
He rolls along the corridor and through the ship, like a human tumbleweed on an errant breeze.
"Help! Jane! How do you stop this crazy thing? I wanna get off!!"

Hmm, original post reply to Safe apparently never showed up. Interesting. Let's try something similar:
Hi Dale! (Safe!)
I hope you're doing well! Thanks, it's good to be back :) Also, do I get to read the other chapters of Boros? Pretty please? I think where I left off the gang had escaped the Blue Hands into a sewer system... very suspensful. I'd love to read the rest!
Serenity--I would love to meet you and Flechette this fall! I've always thought that was the one sad thing about this forum, we never get to meet in person. Well, we can have a nice knitting party this autumn. I'll keep in touch as my plans progress, we probably won't be able to schedule anything until September. But I'm looking forward to it!
And a big hello and round of hugs to the rest of our fine crew!
Cheers, Amy

Amy, I thought I had sent them. I will send them again tonight.
That would explain why you didn't respond... You have to remember, I'm a nice guy, just not a very bright guy

A get together sounds like fun! Yep I'm in Greensboro NC and regretfully there no way I can make DragonCon - started out as going, Tim gets deployed; cancel - start to go w/ friends anyway- immed supervisor asks favor as she has a once in a lifetime travel opportunity - plans canceled again :(
So unless a really fabulous airfare comes up - leaving Sat and returning Mon) I'll simply have to ask you all to have a drink or 2 for me
Tim has left for mobilization training - I've been to my eldest niece's wedding in AZ - have vague plans to visit Tim at Ft Dix NJ before he leaves the country when he gets his 4 day "you aint seeing your family for a long while" pass
Have I mentioned I'm really sick of traveling?
I hope all is well with everyone and we get to talk both In Character and out soon!

Flechette!! Good to hear from you again!
I think summer has indeed slowed the posting down.
I've been meaning to PM you. I'm expanding on the character I created for you in the Boros story and I wanted your opinion.
"Flechette DeBeaucamp: Tough, no nonsense. Cajun ancestry. Uses a restaurant as her cover. Became part of the underground because her sister was used as an experiment, similar to River’s, only it left her sister as nothing more than a drooling husk when the Blue Sun Corp. discarded her; Her sister resides with her parents."
I've got a story bubbling around in my head and I needed the characters fully fleshed out.

Hi Safe, Flechette!
Everyone must be on planet leave time...
Not that I've been any less AWOL myself. I did take a fantastic canoe/backpacking trip in Algonquin Park, Ontario with my family that lasted for more than a week (few extra days in Toronto Airport because they confused our camping equipment with "dangerous goods" and we got accused of being terrorists and it took a while to convince them to stop treating us that way...still working on getting our money back, but anyway....) so that partly explains my absence. The fiasco with the airlines has been dragging on, not to mention dealing with the insurance company responsible for paying us back from a rear-ender we were in last year... And work has been crazy busy. So it's basically been the stressful time of dealing with annoying corporations and paperwork... Oh yeah, and when we emerged from a week of hard physical labor in the backcountry filled with lakes, lilipads, and loons, we were greeted with newspapers documenting that Hezbollah was shelling Israel... rude welcoming back to the real world!
Fun things lately include packaging up lots of boxes for soldiers overseas. I just sent another 7 boxes today! I've been doing a drive at my gym which has worked really well. Flechette, I really was serious about sending stuff to your hubby if you'll give me his address and suggestions of what he and his crew might like.
Rewatched a couple Firefly episodes last week which did much to calm my nerves after the airline debacle. I was surprised to notice details I hadn't seen before--such as at the beginning of "Shindig" Wash is concerned that they're coming up fast on Persephone and Mal leaves the bridge saying "Let me know if we all die" and Wash says "Ok, will do" or something like that--don't think I'd quite caught that before.
Anyway, hope you're all well and surviving the heat ok. It's been so nice here today we were able to have the windows open during the day for the first time since our trip (we don't have AC). Really nice!
Hugs all round,
Amy
