I think I got hooked on Angel and his "fighting style" in the first episode, when he goes to visit the bad guy in his office. Lindsey has already told Angel that he "can't lay a finger" on his client, so he doesn't. The guy tells Angel "I can do anything I want," to which Angel asks him, "Really? Can you fly?" - and then kicks him, smug face, leather office chair and all, right out the high-rise window! Great camera work following him on the way down, too, as the sunlight bursts him into flames and he turns to dust before he can hit the ground. Only the chair makes it to the ground.

At that point, I realized this was going to be a very different kind of show. Cool stunts, great writing, and not a hell of a lot of mercy for the bad guys.

Ooooh Mike, that's a good one! I can't believe I forgot that. That's one of my favorite scenes of the whole show.

Yeah, it was a great introduction to the series!

That was the stunt coordinator Jeff Cadiente following him down while filming at the same time. Shame he couldn't stay and work on the rest of the series, he's an excellent stunt coordinator and stunt performer, just look at his work on The Crow with Brandon Lee! He did return to do the first half of season 5, but then Mike Massa came back.

Does anyone know if Jeff is on the stunt featurette on the season 5 box set?

Good question! I always liked in Not Fade Away when Hamilton throws Angel into the Wolfram and Hart sign. That was pretty cool. It was neat because if I remember correctly, you can see Angel get thrown by Hamilton from a standing position up into the air. Also, later in that fight when Angel drinks Hamilton's blood and does the double flip in the air and lands on his feet right before they start pummeling each other. Cool.

Yeah that so ruled!!! And it was just what we wanted as viewers too!

I miss those days when Wolfram and hart were the clear bad guys - call me simple but I understood things better that way around.

I don't think he is on there :( Sadly. I Love the Crow, one of my all time favourite love stories (that's the way I read it anyway) I had no idea Jeff had done the work on the Crow! I'm impressed

Do you know why he left mid-way through the show?

Jeff only coordinated the first episode of season 1 because he went back to work on a TV show called Martial Law, but I'm not sure why he left during season 5. He was probably just filling in for Mike while he was working on something else, or maybe Jeff had commitments on another show or movie. They both work for the same stunt team so they're probably friends helping each other out.

Good to see another Crow fan. It's my all time favourite movie, second of course to a certain 'space western'. You're right, it is an excellent love story, amongst all the violence and strong language.
Jeff actually did a lot of the stunts for Brandon and he also had to body double for him after he sadly passed away.

That was such a funky show. Like getting a weekly dose of Hong Kong Kung-fu. I remember one fight scene where the bad guy tried to run the hero through with a pole but rather ran it up his sleeve and out the other sleeve. The good guy cop then proceeded to beat the living heck out of everyone while having his arms sticking straight out looking like a scarecrow. Great stuff!

While not my favorite movie of all time, I think it is vastly underrated and gets a bad rap for being violent (though it is not so bad compared to things these days). I enjoyed it when I first saw it. Kind of hard to watch knowing what happened during the filming, though. Great soundtrack too.

Thank you so much for that. It's good to know they
are buds - I love that about stunt people, they have this fraternity amoungst themselves which I really admire. It's good to hear given the competitiveness of Hollywood that there are folks out there who regard each other with mutual respect for their craft.

I remember Martial Law - I like Samo Hung. I still have somewhere on VHS 'Encounters of the Spooky Kind' :D Great matial arts film. Samo is a good buddy of Jackie Chan, and often can be seen making an appearance in the background, aswell as co-ordinating stunts too. Nice to see that Jeff has worked with some truely great people....

I'm still hit with terrible sadness over what happened to Brandon Lee. I usually find watching films where someone has died during the making very difficult to watch or even consider, but there is something quite unique about The Crow and in particular the obvious passion Brandon had for the project. I watch that film out of respect for him really as much as the story. It's a haunting piece of work that stirs something in me I've never really been able to quantify into anything that makes sense. It's one of those films I love but refuse to watch with anyone else. It's a kind of a 'my time' film...

I always remember a quote by Lee before he died, where he said:
The key to immortality is living a life worth remembering.

Always strikes me as incredibly poignant.
