That whole scene is non-stop action. It's choreographed very well, he just flows from one bad guy to the next. And Brandon was able to do all his own fighting, I think there were only 2 shots that he didn't do. They were very lucky to get such a talented young star on this movie.

You can see why they chose to tone down the violence for the finished film. The slow motion part where Brandon's being shot on the table was probably a little too close to home to be used at the time. My brother and I were watching the work print version the other day and they removed images like this from the characters death scene at the beginning of the movie as well.

And where he chops the guys hand off. I'm glad they didn't use that, it looked pretty crappy.

Have you seen the 2 hour work print version? There's a lot of good footage taken out that they should have left in.

Chrisisall, the work print is quite difficult to get hold of as far as I know. My brother got his from someone who contacted him through Ebay, I'm not sure where else it would be available.

Me too. Thankfully not so long ago I read that the camera and the film stock that was used for that scene was destroyed immediately.

It is a difficult film to watch knowing what occured and the narrative is all the more poignant as a consequence. However I feel compelled to love this film because; as has been so frequently stated, Brandon Lee did some great great work and it would be a greater crime if his brilliance were never to be seen.
