Darren runs his hands trough his shaggy hair. He hopes noone gets seriously hurt, well except for maybe Gail. Darren takes out his .45 pistol, ejects the magazine, checks to make sure it's loaded, carefully slides the magazine back in, and says to himself while staring at the gun in his hands "I hope I don't have ta use this on anyone."

Captain looked over at her. "So was I right about you and Darren." She didn't answer.
"The Doctor seems odd" she finally said.

I'll keep the good Doctor live and rolling for a bit, because Shanti needs him to further her exposition.
Where are our other authors?
Shanti follows the Captain out into the bustling street. She's been to core planets before, but never as a free woman. Suddenly, everything seems very bright and shiny. Women walking by catch her attention, and she finds herself studying their styles; what they wear, how their hair looks, how they stand, and how they speak to each other as they peer into shop windows.
She sees one stand straight and scan the busy street, preparing to hail a hover-cab, and tries to emulate her stance and demeanor.
The reinforced concrete structure rises up before them and she reaches out and takes the Captain's arm, ready to play the happy bride. Not so far from her usual role when visiting the core, she thinks bitterly, but manages to plaster a happy smile on her face as they pass the first guard.
The Captain punches Dr. Luap's access code into the keypad and the door opens for them.
So far, so good.

Darren clicks the com button and says "Yes sir Captain."
He turns to Mononoke and says "Let's get ta work on those cameras. Shall we?"

where the heck is everybody?
Shanti pulls the gun and points it at the bank manager as Captain Faolin grabs her from behind. "Now, just stay nice and calm, and nobody comes to trouble, dong ma?"
The woman nods frantically, and Shanti grabs her hands pulling them from her sides and checking for emergency beacon devices. "All right, now just open the inner vault, nice and calm like."
"You won't get away with this." The woman hisses, and Shanti can't help but grin.
"I've heard those words before, and guess what?" Shanti leans close, feeling reckless, "I got away with it."
"Lovely chat, ladies." The Captain glances at the cameras, hoping Mononoke got them taken care of, "Now open the VAULT!"
Inside, they turn and seal it behind them, the woman's eyes growing wide, "NO! That autolocks! Nobody else is on shift who can open it! We'll be trapped!"
Shanti smiles politely as the Captain, as gently as possible, hits the woman in the back of the head, knocking her out cold.
"We're in." He transmits to the crew, and Shanti pulls out the laser cutter and finds the spot where the diagram showed the maintenance shaft.

Darren was glad that Mononoke was successful with the cameras. When he heard the Captain over the com say "We're in." Darren got up from his seat and said to everyone
"Alright it's show time. Let's get ta the maintenance shaft."
Darren tucked his pistol back into his waistband and pulled his shirt over it, as everyone who had a job to do went to do it.

Shanti cuts through the floor, hissing at the sparks from the hot metal. "Captain, there's a grate down there, out of reach. Are your arms longer than mine?"
From below, she hears Banner's voice, "We can get it from here, darlin'! Stand back!"
The captain is already ripping open drawers, stacking cash and coin and Shanti moves to help him, her eyes widening as one drawer reveals a case filled with black diamonds. "Jackpot!"
