So it begins. I've mentioned before that I'm not so well caught up w/ the Buffy 'verse. I'd watch an episode here, there...and a couple of friends who were crazy for the show would fill me in on some of the thigns I missed, but I've never really sat down and watched the series, start to finish, every episode.

That's about to change, starting today.

If nothing else, I'm sure several questions I've had ( and many I've not had ) will be answered.

This should be fun.

People love a happy ending. So every episode, I will explain once again that I don't like people. And then Mal will shoot someone. Someone we like. And their puppy. - Joss

Holy cow! I had no idea I didn't know what I didn't know! I know, giving updates on what most here see as ancient history gets old REAL quick, but what a show!

For all this time, I had no idea exactly what was meant by the Hellmouth Oh, I had a general idea, but didn't know it was all Episode 1 and everything.

i like to go back to the beginning and compare the young, fresh faced Buffy with the older, wiser and hardened Buf of the last series...

if you really want to get crazy.. rent the original movie - Kristy Swanson plays Buffy - Paul Reubens, Donald Sutherland, Rutger Hauer and Luke Perry also in the cast

I've got the flick, Chosen Collection, Angel 1-5, Firefly and Serenity, Titan A.E, Toy Story, Alien Resurrection, Speed, and occasionally wath Roseanne. I've got a Whedon thing.

Anyway, I did the same thing. Now on Season 5.

I've gone on three Fireflyathons, one Angelathon, and an all-night Serenity screening.

It all started with Irwin Allen raping my mind when I was a child with Voyage to the bottom of the Sea and Time Tunnel, and then Gene Rodenberry took over and mauled my thoughts with Star Trek. Then, Robert A. Heinlein. Took the reins along with his pals Harlan Ellison, Ray Bradbury and Isaac Asimov and immersed my mind in space and politics. Just when I was catching my breath, whoever the writers were, I got sucked into Space 1999, and then, just when I thought it couldn’t get any worse, some guy called George Lucas, created THX-1138, and Star Wars.

After stumbling about and shaking Star Wars off, I was hit by Glen Larson’s Battlestar Galactica. Thank god it only lasted one season. By then I had mastered control over sci-fi, and it couldn’t suck me in so completely anymore until October of 2005, I made the mistake of seeing a movie called Serenity, and then learned about Firefly, which in turn lead me to Buffy and Angel...all created by some master story writer called Joss Whedon, who has, in my book, out done everyone in creating stories that drags a person’s soul into it so completely.

I'm just starting Buffy too! I'm working on downloading season one right now. I've already watched what claims to be the "unaired pilot", which was unfortunately pretty awful, but I'm hopeful for the rest of the series. Other than that, I've never seen a single episode.

I've heard the movie is pretty bad, so I think I'll pass on that.

I'm not sure what you just watched, but when you finally get to watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer 1st season, you are going to be surprised and then sucked into the drama. I wasn’t too crazy about the 1st episode, but later I went back to it and found it quite charming. Buffy is a true hero. You are going to like this too much, and I suggest you put the box of tissues near your computer…you are gonna need it to soak up those tears, especially the episodes with Buffy and Angel. A total soap opera this is.
