Static walks to the bar and grabs a bottle of Jameson. He pulls the cork with his teeth as he walks out of the room and down the corridor to Medbay.
"Excuse me. I need to have a drink with a friend."
In the cryo-storage room of the Medical section, he closes the door and leans against the wall directly across from Soul's cryo-tube. He takes a long pull from the bottle, then pours a few mouthfuls onto the floor in front of his friend. His grim expression holds fast for a moment, then quickly crumbles, as does the Gunslinger. He kneels, pressing his hand against the cold coffin and weeps. His weeping grows in to a low, wailing sob that goes on until he has no more tears left and the sobs are dry and silent.
Finally, he drags himself to his feet, still leaning heavily against Soul's cryo-tube. He presses his forehead against it, letting the cool sensation soothe him a bit, letting the soft hums lull him into...
waitaminnit...
HUMS? Plural?
The Gunslinger looks around. There is a second tube active, in the back. He walks to it and checks the panel. Whoever is in there, the vitals are good...no injuries...no real reason they should be in suspended animation. Cautiously, Static wipes the frost from the viewplate in front. He gasps in shock at the sight of...

But TheRealMe who lives in the Sereni-Tree doesn’t understand that the person who writes for SoulofSerenity IRL has some responsibilites that will take him away. TheRealMe waits outside the cryochamber, so as not to intrude on Static’s private time. When he judges the time appropriate, he enters. He is somewhat surprised.
“Static, be careful. I believe that you have discovered the remains of ThatDarkGirl… ThatEvilGirl… ThatToughGirl…. Whatever we called her. It is that being that split off from ThatWeirdGirl during the events surrounding the Dark Soul and our own dark selves. ThatWeirdGirl is actually off with one of the Rats in the Admiral Nelson, looking for Emma. I plan to contact her regarding Soul’s wake. I’m certain that she would like to attend.”
TheRealMe sighs.
“Static, nothing that happened on the Arkham was your failure. It was mine. I took us over there looking for that ghost beacon from Emma. I’m the one who wasn’t careful enough. I didn’t look far enough ahead. I certainly never foresaw THIS outcome!”
TheRealMe gestures at Soul’s frozen form.
“My fault. It’s my fault and I will have to find some way to fix it.”

TheRealMe sits on the Sereni-Tree’s bridge and fiddles a bit more with the communicator before giving up.
“Why don’t they answer? Well, I suppose I’ll just ask them.”
TheRealMe concentrates to open a dimensional portal to ThatWeirdGirl and Rat on the Admiral Nelson. A spot of light appears which starts to expand into a circle of fire. But soon, the portal takes on the appearance of a warped tunnel, twisting before him like a corkscrew. Suddenly, the portal is torn from TheRealMe’s control; he loses it completely.
“Huh! They must still be in hyperspace! Why would they still be in hyperspace?”
