Portland, OR area drops from 21 screens to 14 screens and from 68 showtimes to 45 showtimes today.

I'll be going for showing five with my brother (he's never seen the series) on a visit to central Oregon. It's playing on one screen, twice daily so it will be a bit different than my city slicker experiences.

A friend and I have been trying to locate a theatre nearby that is still showing the BDM, and so far, the closest is about 60mins away, assuming decent traffic flow. :(

The movie's been pulled from 4 out of the 5 theaters within a 10 mile radius of my zip code. I checked it at movies.go.com.

So I guess it's just a wait until the DVD comes out now.

well, if you wanna watch the movie again (i assume you already have), you could make it a worthwhile road trip. just a suggestion. an hour ain't too bad. me--i drive a lot for my work (a lawyer who goes to various counties)--and sometimes, an hour drive goes--blink--just like that.

I'll be driving an hour and a half to Cedar Rapids (each way..83 miles away!), to meet up with some Browncoats from the Universal Serenity board...

might was well enjoy the BDM while it is still in theaters...and getting together w/other fans is ALWAYS fun!

i'm thinking that most of these theaters were the smaller ones who had to choose between the newer releases with the more guaranteed profits than the older movies. plus, there probably were venues in which serenity just wasn't drawing a crowd. anyway (i'm ramblin' here), i wonder if this means that the box office returns will take a big hit as well. hope not. it would be cool to see serenity, which only has 878 theaters, bring in more money than films with higher theater counts.

We're considering it, though we've each seen it twice. Looks like we either have to head into Toronto, or cross the border and hit a theatre in the Niagara Falls N.Y. area.

First post, long time lurker.

Its down to just three show times at one theatre on this side of pittsburgh, pa. I was hoping to go see it again in the afternoon while the wife was at work but I'm guessing I'm going to have to wait for DVD as well as we just can't go see movies together.

I thought it was an excellent movie, and I'm glad to see it brought in as much money as History of Violence in one less week of show time. I can't believe Flight Plan is still in the theatres and family movies like Dreamer, Corpse Bride, and Wallace & Grommit shouldn't count cos they get at least one extra parent/guardian per child ticket. But almost $30m in the theatres on a production budget of $39m isn't bad with the box office just getting off of an 18 month loosing streak.

I'm really hoping Serenity makes it back to the TV as I don't think it has the steam to keep coming back to the theatres only just yet. The movie will definitely make money after US box office + internation box office + DVD sales are all tallied up. Definitely worth bringing it back to TV and getting more supporters for future movie releases. I was not a fan of Joss's before Firefly. Hated Buffy... hated Angel even more and just wrote off Firefly when it came on tv. Since I have bought the DVD series (thanks to my Uncle Frank) the last week of september I have watched through them all atleast twice. So I wonder if the cancellation was all my fault?

Anyway, I think in a month or two we will know Serenity/Firefly's fate. Lets hope it comes back to TV!!!
