I actually thought there was rather a lot of sexual content in Firefly , myself. Then I thought, well, sexuality is a pretty big driving force in the 'Verse, so why not?
But I'll tell ya, those heels on 7 of 9, however nice they mighta looked, always seemed pretty stupid to me. Goin' to a dinner party? Okay. Normal functional wear on a ship? No way.
Spandex? That's another story.

Yes, chrisisall, Firefly has plenty of sex, but it was part of the story and it wasn't contrived like Enterprise was. That was my point when I said that the scene wasn't even about Trip goggling at her, it was for the audience alone. And not to sound wierd, but as she was a Vulcan, and by definition could not appreciate the gaze of a healthy male human upon her, it struck me as something of a peeping-tom.
I just watched the Firefly pilot over again today, and they did a bit on Inari bathing, but it was tastefully done to show her beauty and didn't just focus on her tits.

Okay, Bugboy, point taken.
And probably the the most aluring moment in any film, for me, was Jayne Seymour's back in Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger.
It was just her back!

Jolene Blalock is great to look at, but it got to the point where it felt so staged. Almost farcical. How must that have been on the set?

It must have been either terribly funny or just terrible.
And to throw in my 2 cents, the Terra Prime 2-parter was the end for me as well. The last episode was without creative effort, concept-wise.

Well it seems most of us agree with the final episode was not well done at all. The show was just getting its legs under it. Both TNG and DS9 were really getting good in their 3rd and 4th years. As I believe Enterprise was getting better. This year for me had some of the best story lines to date. Bad management and bad writing in the begining. If they had started the series with these stories, I believe they would still be around. As since Voyager, the people behind the cameras were saying instead of developing characters make the aliens stand out. WTF were they thinking. I was really upset when they ran the Ferengi and Borg stories. This was supposed to be the Beginning why not have stories about the begining. Well since people love the borg and Ferengi in TNG universe lets through them in here. The first meeting with the Ferengi Was Picard on the Stargazer. The Borg when Q sent 1701d to the Delta Quadrent. I will not say anything bad about the cast. They did very well with what they were given. Most of which was crap. In the (Hopefully near) future I hope Paramont Hires someone well smart, but also a fan of the franchise and will be true to it.

I thought it would have been better if they had focused on long story arcs dealing with some of the familier aliens. Like maybe the Earth-Klingon war. I would have also liked to have seen more episodes dealing with interactions with early federation species. More than just Vulcan, Andorian, and Tellerite. You know actually explore new worlds and seek out new life. I couldn't stand the Earth destroying weapon story arc.

The shame of it is that there's tons of fiction out there that could be used, I don't know about the later episodes of Enterprise, but the stories I saw were recycled and redundant.
Even William Shatner has written some good stories, although he had help on some of them from a pair of established ST universe writers. Maybe there's some kind of screenwriter's guild rules they have to deal with that dictates that the writing has to be coughed up on contract terms rather than taking advantage of the reams of excellent fiction already in existence.
There are endless historical threads and character plots that could have been explored, but from what I hear they did the endlessly recycled "protect the homeland" scenario.

Well I'll be dipped, I managed to torrent the Terra Prime episodes and correct me if I am wrong, but they are written by Judith & Garfield Reeves-Stevens. If you don't recognize those names, they are IMHO the best ST fiction writers ever, even helped William Shatner write some of his books.

Nope, you're not wrong (though I'm more a fan of Peter David, but that's just personal taste). The Reeves-Stevenses came aboard same time Manny Coto did, but everyone was too busy paying attention to him.
