SPOILERS if you haven't seen the episode:

The finale was definitely a huge letdown. I agree that the last episode of Enterprise should have been abotu Enterprise, but it also bothered be for another reason. Trip went out like a punk.

Once the Trip/T'Pol relationship stopped being about sexual attraction and actually went somewhere, they were the only relationship on the ship worth caring about. They clearly developed feelings for each other, and that last scene in the Terra Prime saga was perfect. They were finally getting together in a loving way over a shared tragedy. They earned that loving relationship. Then, in the finale, it was totally abandoned. They never got together and Trip sacrificed himself over a plot device that did absolutely nothing to advance the plot except to give Trip a reason to sacrifice himself. Lame as hell.

On another note, you guys are talking a lot about T'Pol's blatant sexuality. Ever notice that in the first two seasons, Trip pretty much lives with his shirt off? Not that I'm complaining, mind you. I spent a good portion of this season demanding the television to show me a shirtless Trip. Still, if it's good for the gander...
