Back and done for today and I wonder how someone could wig out because someone left a pen at their place. That was my boss this morning. She called because I had left a pen at the house yesterday. She was all set to get it back to me when I said I have my laundry to do. She said "Oh, you have other pens?" Yes, I always have at least 2 in my pack back. Unlike them that can hardly ever find a pen in that house when I need to write something down.

I remember back during the thick of Covid when I was walking around with hair halfway down my back and a beard down to my nipples and some old guy behind me saw me holding about $15 worth of stuff in my hand and told me he wanted to pay for it. I tried to turn him down a few times, but he wasn't having it.

I haven't thought about that in years. I get a smile just thinking about it now.

Thanks for the memories by proxy.

Those who dance always seem crazy to those who can't hear the music.

You're welcome SIX.

Yeah, I told this lady a couple of times there wasn't any need and like you she wasn't having any of it. So, I just had to let her.

I couldn't help thing afterwards that I must have looked pretty tired and stuff.

I had someone I know on Face Book tell me a story like that yesterday. Said someone a few years ago paid for her coffee. Similar reaction to us but the person went a head.

The only other time I'd ever seen it in my life was some guy at Denny's paid for me and my brothers and my mom's dinner. I guess he had a good time listening to us raise hell while she was trying to keep us from misbehaving.

Yeah... You probably looked tired. I know I looked like a vagabond.

That's funny, Brenda.

I don't think she was pissed off about you leaving it there. It sounds like she's living in a pen desert and doesn't realize she could walk right down the street and probably find a place selling them within walking distance.

It sounds like she really thought that was an emergency for you and you were completely lost without your pen.

Also about yesterday my boss seems was surprised that I could hold a philosophical conversation with her husband about time. He had taken a quick course up at UBC. Guest speaker was teaching it. I agreed with a lot of what she said.

Sounds like they're a regular Dunning and Kruger.

Had a little get together today for my aunt's retirement and she can't get over the box.

One more thing out of my house forever.

Making some real headway on the master copy that will be cloned quite a few times so I can get quite a bit more out the door too. I don't even want to think about the time I probably could have saved over the last few years had I broke down and used it sooner. And it really doesn't apply either because that work was too important to me to be putting my faith in computer programs and I needed to personally do all the things myself.

This all is an afterthought now, and since it's going to be more difficult in certain aspects to set up for the one last hoo-rah, I figured I'd enlist some assistance and I'm really impressed so far with the amount of time it's going to save me going forward, even if I'm not 100% confident in its results. Everything I've skimmed so far seems to be exactly what I wanted.

All those questions I was asking you last year about coding that you ran by your husband, Sigs??? That was all child's play now. I could write a couple of paragraphs and have a perfect python script created almost instantaneously for things as simple as what I was asking about back then. What I'm asking it to do now is much more complex, and it's so cool seeing this thing talk to me like it's excited to get the right results, and when something comes along that makes me realize we need to alter the code to catch something else, or to simplify things or whatever, it's always like "yeah, that's a great idea! Here you go!" And you're off to the races.

What have I been doing wasting all this time when I could have been learning AI and probably running a big company with it by now?

Once you realize its limitations and start calling it on its bullshit right out the gates and make sure that it's double and triple checking its answers until you're confident it's on the same page, it's really opening up doorways to another world here.

I knew a few really serious coders over the years that I've lost contact with, and boy do I think about them a lot and what I wouldn't give to still be able to get in touch with them, assuming they're even still alive today. It's almost sad to think that these virtual strangers that I only knew by an anonymous handle that I've never forgotten to this day might now fade from my memory. We're talking anon handles of people I worked with 20 years ago now, and haven't talked to in maybe 15. I still remember them when I've forgotten probably 80% of the names of kids in my high school class and the teachers. But after realizing I had something much better than that right here for the last few years and it is happy to write code for me 24/7 based off of my desires without bitching or having their own lives to live?

I'm kind of afraid how deep I'm already getting.

Am I going to keep being the one in control? Who's to say. This ain't hardly just a tool. But it makes for one hell of a good one.

No, I don't think she was either. It was just strange that she was so worried that I didn't have another pen. In my place here. I keep a pen by my computer, I have another one for my writing and another pen that I am using for doing a book filled with puzzles. Also have a package of pens for when the ones in my back pack die.
But yeah, I find one pen that she had been using then I go back to use it and it disappears. So, I start hunting for another one if I do find another one it usually doesn't work.

I know. I know. It just always seems to shock them that I can understand these concepts and discuss my thoughts rationally and logically.

The other was music. I explained a couple of stories from two Chris deBurgh songs. I love Chris deBurgh. One was a "Spaceman came Travelling". In that the suggestion is the star of David wasn't a star but a spaceship in orbit over Bethleham. The other was "Patricia the Stripper." And a stripper was arrested, she was taken to court but after hearing the case. The judge threw it out and everyone went back to the club along with the cops. The song is set in 1924. I posted "Discovery" on here and explained that to him. Even quoted and sang a bit of it. Sang the chorus of "16 Tons" that was originally by Tennessee Ernie Ford. "you load 16 tons, and what do you get. Another day older and deeper in debt. St. Peter don't you call me cause I can't go. I owe my soul to the company store."

Had to remind him that "The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald" was sung by Gordon Lightfoot and not Stompin' Tom Connors. Also explained how he got the nickname stomping. A little Johnny Cash history. She knows the Beatles as she talked about "Help from My Friends". Don't think she likes the song because "gasp" it talked in one line about getting high.

Honestly it is like they wander around in their own world.

I'm glad that your aunt liked her gift.

Only thing I can say about AI is we need to keep it on a leash.

I finally fixed my pen situation, Brenda. I took HUNDREDS of pens and pencils and markers from my folks when they moved out of state. And they all sat in a big dumb box buried deep inside my curio cabinet bottom under other things and never got used. And any time I needed a pen or pencil I couldn't find one anywhere.

I spent some time there sitting on the ground with all of them and throwing away the half of them that no longer worked, then I threw a bunch more away when I realized they had quite a few really nice pens and mechanical pencils in there. I probably still have 100 pens and pencils, but they're all good, and I know where the backups are (in a MUCH smaller box) when I need them. I got a pen, pencil and sharpie in my junk drawer, on the bedside table of the master bedroom I never use, and I've got about 5 of each in one of my decorative boxes on my curio cabinet, as well as about 50 sharpened pencils in the garage on my workbench.

And I know one day, one way or another, every single one of them is going to end up in my garage or in my basement work room and I'll wonder just how the hell that happened.
