The Washington Post reported on 10 October 2018 that U.S. intelligence intercepted communications of Saudi officials discussing a plan ordered by the Crown Prince Bin Salman, to capture Khashoggi from his home in Virginia. Three of his children were US citizens. Khashoggi was a legal resident of the United States. Khashoggi was entitled to protection.
Khashoggi did NOT get protection because Trump was President and wanted him dead.

Yanno, there is only so much bandwidth for broadcast TV and radio. That's why the FCC has licenses: to parse out the broadcast spectrum. Part of the licens says that it's being granted for the public good.
If someone ... say, Trump ... wants to help break the hold that $$$ has on politicians, the first requirement of getting a license should be free, prime time airtime for people from different parties running for office. And the debates, which are controlled and managed by a bipartisan corporation, shoi,d be ended, and true multiparty debates should be televised.
Further, the law forbidding the government from DIRECTLY broadcasting or disseminating stories to the media .... a law axed by Mr. CIA Obama himself ... should be re- enacted.
People go off on the stupidest tangents.

Donald Trump is being cagey about how many people he’s ordered the U.S. Navy to kill on the high seas. The official toll from American military strikes on two boats suspected of running drugs from Venezuela is now 14, but a few days ago, Trump teased the possibility that a third boat had been “knocked off,” presumably on his orders.
The Trump administration’s justification for these strikes, such as it is, seems to be that any shipment of drugs connected to the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua is a direct threat to the United States. These “narco-terrorists” may therefore be destroyed on sight, and without the fuss of asking permission from the U.S. Congress. This argument reflects the president’s childlike but dangerous understanding of his role as commander in chief. The United States, once the leader of a global system of security and economic cooperation, is now acting like a rogue state on the high seas.
The White House position is wrong on many levels. I taught the rules and theories that govern the use of force to military officers at the Naval War College for many years, and every summer for two decades to civilians at Harvard; I always reminded students that international law and traditions require states to show that they are acting in some form of self-defense, either in response to an attack or to forestall more violence. Moreover, American law does not permit the president to designate people as terrorists and then declare open season on them in defiance of international agreements and without any involvement from Congress. Perhaps Trump’s people are watching too many Tom Clancy movies, but he cannot legally send the Navy out onto the world’s oceans as though they are seagoing sheriffs with satchels full of death warrants.
No one in the White House seems to care very much about the rules that govern killing people, at home or abroad, but these rules actually exist. International law allows interdicting contraband—drugs, weapons, captured human beings—under many circumstances, and countries execute such missions legally every day. These activities require great care to limit the danger to the military and the loss of civilian life, including diligently identifying suspect vessels, warning them to stop, and sometimes boarding them to identify and seize their cargo.
Military ships can engage these targets in combat under limited conditions. If they open fire on American vessels, for example, no one would deny that they’re

So, Disney has become an example of the headaches created by conglomerates which don't stay in their lane.
Unilever is an amalgamation - but they have largely kept to commercial products like foods, hygiene, etc.
Disney bought up ABC and some movie companies. Produced some horrid wokefest bombs like Gay Robot Dog, destroying franchises.
They entered politics by demanding voting on Gay Say Gay legislation. Losing their exemption status for their Reedy Creek land.
They held contracts with other conglomerates like Nextstar and Sinclair, which exist in the real world instead of just the coastal extremes.
Obtained control of some highly successful films, like Sound of Freedom - and shelved it for years.
Their Crusade of Wokeness alienated their fan base, which stopped going to their lousy movies and they've been giving massive discounts for years now, to keep their parks not empty. Or "unempty"
If they thought they could survive on the Fake Attendance of Fake Virtue Signalers who don't spend Dollars, and don't have throngs of children to drag around, then how did Snow White bomb with all of the Wokesters flooding the theaters with cash?
They kept money losers like Kimmels-N-Bits afloat while losing even more cash.
Having thoroughly alienated most of America, Their Real World partners like Nextstar and Siclair were forced to preempt one of their worst shows. Resulting in their Fake Virtue Signalling minority losers claiming they will boycott not only ABC, but also all Disney products, entertainment, films, vacations, cruises, etc.
So it appears they have successfully alienated all facets of the public. All of the volatile Fake Virtue Signalling Woketards who pretended to have their back as long as they kept pumping out woke trash have abandoned them overnight.
So, what I am wondering:
How will this affect future conglomerates? Particularly those which cross-contaminate different lanes of products and services. Will we see a different approach? Disney has been heading in a negative trajectory for years already - will they need to have fire sales to try to survive, ending their foray into volatile waters of Wokeness?
What can be learned, if one was in a learning mood?
