Let's be real here. You're all going to watch clips on YouTube like you've been doing since Jimmy Kimmel's show started.

Students lack foundational computer literacy because they primarily interact with devices through simplified interfaces and powerful search functions that obscure the underlying file and folder structure. This is a generational shift, as those who grew up with older systems had to understand files and folders to use a computer, but modern operating systems and cloud storage provide an abstraction that makes explicit file management seem unnecessary.

A whole generation has grown up with powerful search functions, and don't think about computers the same way.

And except for OG computer nerds, or those adults who had to learn OTJ training to become at least moderately proficient with them in order to keep their jobs, most Boomers and GenX don't know what a filesystem is either. They are the reason why the first half of any computer course I had in Community College was wasted trying to teach them how to turn a computer on and off.

Some of my friends who use computers every day at their job had the benefit of knowing me when we were in our late teens and early 20's and I was able to teach them the basics so they could download music and burn CDs. They thought they were just learning how to do something underground and cool, but they were actually learning a life lesson that put them well ahead of a lot of their peers.

It's still hilarious to me when I see some of them type to this day with two fingers. I haven't worked with computers at a paying gig since late 2009 and I can type 65wpm with a <1% error rate, and that's including all the number keys above QWERTY and their SHIFT symbols, as well as blazing fast speeds on the Numpad due to my time working at RGIS Inventory when I was a youth.

He is talking about your generation Gilligan. It's also why as soon as they get hired, they get fired. Other generations used to have to use a file system in libraires.

I'm GenX, stupid.

Now I understand why you thought I was in diapers still when I was 10 years old. I thought maybe that was a Democrat thing and you guys still wore diapers well into your Tweens.

The reason Millennials get fired as soon as their hired today is because they are college "educated" for jobs that don't need a college education, and that comes with a ton of entitlement and narcissism as baggage. 16 years of school with nothing to show for it, including almost all of them not understanding in the least how a computer works under the hood.

Companies LOVE mergers and acquisitions because it gives them a great opportunity to fire everyone who went to college without needing any reason or worrying about lawsuits.

Same thing dummy. I wasn't shooting for an exact year. Just the point that my generation was using computers when mommy was still doing your laundry.

I'm currently blocking 8 trackers while at this site. How many are you blocking? Correction, I am now blocking 12. Hey, maybe it's your friends?

What they are trying to do is called tracking and fingerprinting. Are you watching your own back, because mine is covered?

Which means nothing in 2025, dinosaur.

Wow. You pay a monthly fee for a VPN and you know how to install an App. We're all super impressed.

You should have aimed higher and used your ad blocker if you wanted really big numbers. Ublock origin says we're blocking 11 trackers currently, but that's only 47% of the trackers on this site. So if you're only blocking 12 in total with all your super-smart security measures, I hate to break it to you, but half of them are still getting through on you.

Ublock also claims that we've blocked over 10 Million trackers since my last install.

Don't pretend you're some sort of security expert now, dude. If you were, you would know better than to ever even come to this unsecured website in the first place.

I do hope that you don't do any banking or bill paying on the same computer that you use to visit fff.net in current year and that your router password isn't "password123".

Sounds like you're not so sure about that with the question mark at the end. But that's just you not knowing how English works again and isn't computer related.

Are you threatening me, big boy? That sounds like a threat.

Looks like Nexstar won't play Jimmy either, so the 2 companies that decided not to air him anymore before all of this went down are sticking to their original guns despite all the hoo rah.

Sinclair, Nexstar Won’t Air Jimmy Kimmel’s Late-Night Return

Broadcasters will replace ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ with news programming, despite Disney saying the show will return on ABC

That's 22% of American households that still won't be able to watch it on TV, and from the looks of it, a lot of those are affiliates in major Blue City Shitholes too. As I mentioned last night, Portland OR and Seattle WA are among them. So even though it's 22%, that will likely still have a very disproportionate negative effect on the ratings numbers since nobody in the middle of the country outside of Dearborne, MI and Milwaukee, WI watched any of his bullshit.

Hopefully Netflix can make something to keep the college educated kids on the coasts busy and indoors now that Trump has officially designated Antifa a terrorist organization. They are in desperate need of a babysitter.

Should have asked this sooner... What are your predictions for tonight? For this week? For the future of Jimmy Kimmel Live?

Here's mine:

TONIGHT:

Jimmy makes a few Trump jokes in his monologue tonight and keeps it out of his celebrity chit-chat. The jokes will be fairly lame, but there to let you know he's still on the "right team". His handlers know very well that they're about to get 3-4 extra million eyeballs tonight at the very least, and a lot of those people hate Jimmy Kimmel and are just looking for something horrible out of his mouth about as much as you chronic TDS sufferers are.

Trump will be mostly ignored tonight, in fact, and hardly mentioned at all. The main two focuses tonight will be on Charlie Kirk and Jimmy. I doubt very much the word "MAGA" will be uttered one time.

*Unless Jimmy goes rogue and wildly off script to the point they're pulling the feed and claiming technical difficulty, it will be a monologue designed to bring down the temperature rather than raise it any further.

Jimmy will try his best to act like he means it when he apologizes to more than half of the country for what he said about Charlie Kirk. He obviously won't mean it because the apology will be worded sideways and/or there will be at least one "but" in there before it's finished, but a very insincere apology will be made as sincerely as possible.

If they were smart, they got some real Democrat Party talent to write it for him too. I'm talking pulling Axelrod out of his recent retirement... or maybe even getting Rahm Emanuel (a possible future Democrat Party Presidential Candidate) on as a scriptwriter too (which could be alluded to in his possible future run), and then have Bill Maher proofread and edit it, or at least give the final thumbs up/down before it gets in Jimmy's hands.

Nobody that works for Jimmy Kimmel should be anywhere near tonight's monologue script.

The last big thing they will be doing tonight, from the beginning of the monologue and all throughout his celebrity chit-chat, will be painting Jimmy out to be a martyr. They will attempt by the end of the show to make you forget who the actual martyr was, and make you feel bad for the poor millionaire talk show host who was and is completely free to start their own show anywhere else like many a celebrity has done before him.

Jimmy will at some point say something along the lines of how blessed and grateful he is to be back on so soon and how much he loves you, yada, yada, yada... He's going to try to use this as an opportunity to tone down the rhetoric, but what he really means is "everybody needs to agree with me on everything again now so things can go back to the way they were 9 months ago and I'm happy."

TOMORROW INTO NEXT WEEK:

Hard to say. I know what HE wants to do, but I don't know what Disney and the local affiliates that are beneath Disney want to do. I'm not sure if they know exactly what they want to do. I think everybody is literally playing it by ear right now and nobody knows what tomorrow will bring anymore.

This is possibly a real weather vane moment, and even though his show is rubbish and he's a trash human being, I will not take away from Jimmy the significance that tonight has on the future.

LONG TERM:

The show will be cancelled in a year or two regardless. It makes zero economic sense, and keeping it on air for the current costs is only just a little less stupid than using the NBA to subsidize the WNBA every season.

He will never have enough new stable viewers to make the show profitable, and tonight won't change that at all in the long run and after a curiosity bump it will get tonight and will have mostly tapered off by the end of the week. We already know that Stephen Colbert was losing anywhere from $40 to $60 Million per year and we really have zero reason to believe that anything but extremely similar isn't the case for Jimmy as well given the weekly ra

Of course there's always the $1.4 Trillion PowerBall Pick...

What are the odds you think that they were able to get Don and Jimmy to agree to do a ceasefire live on national TV?

They had all weekend and nearly a week to write something really good.

If that unbelievable scenario were to happen tonight, I wonder what the further odds would be of either one of them or both of them trying to dupe the other in the biggest Gotcha! moment in TV history, and then whether or not they both fall into each other's traps or one or the other or both manages to escape them without being destroyed.

We could get quite an interesting parlay going on here, and nobody will be betting on it.

Within 5 minutes of always-online-word-of-mouth, Jimmy Kimmel Live would turn into one of the highest rated TV show episodes in history. People would be getting woken out of bed and dragged to the TV to see this.

Now where you would go from there could have a profound impact on the future of what Late Night looked like. Jimmy Kimmel just might end up being the Johnny Carson of Late Night going forward if he played his cards right after this jumping off point. The only game in town on Network TV, when there can be only one.

That's what an epic event like that would possibly lead to. People don't get shocked too easily anymore and I can't imagine too many things more shocking than Donny and Jimmy smiling and shaking hands and agreeing to disagree and telling the public that one of them isn't Mao and the other one isn't Hitler and everybody needs to take a fucking pill and chillax.

I don't imagine this would ever happen in a million years, even with Trump talking live to Jimmy via satellite and not in person on the show.

But I had to mention the possibility, however unlikely, just in case.

ETA:

Yanno... and re-reading it a few times while proofreading and tweaking things, I really began to like this scenario. I think we've all been under mass hypnosis of one flavor or another for a very long time. Sometimes the only way you can get people out of their modes is to SHOCK! THEM!

There may not be many more opportunities for Americans in groups to genuinely come back together and try to heal the rift, and I think that attention spans and tribalism have become so bad that only a huge shock to the system like this could wake people up long enough on both sides to have a real come together moment that lasts longer than the latest news cycle.

I've got my fingers crossed that this is more or less the way things go down tonight. I didn't win the big PowerBall a few weeks ago when I played for the first time in quite a few years, but maybe I win this one...?

It sounds kind of nice...

Waking up a few tens of millions of people the furthest on either side just for a moment to slip that little seed in their brains that we can disagree with each other, but everybody we disagree with isn't automatically Satan.

Am I wrong? Doesn't that sound nice?
