Energy need in hindsight

At the time that reactors were being built, there was no good technology to recycle nuclear waste and ensure safe operation. Those reactors were, as I've heard, "pre-deployed nuclear bombs". But the US encouraged a lot of nuclear-reactor-building after WWII, especially of the jury-rigged cheap-as-shit GE Mark V reactors, like at Fukushima.

and now Russia and Ukraine hit their own power plants?

Now, take the lovely Muslim world. Terrorist saw the heads off of innocent men and women? No protest. Terrorist blow up a night club in Bali ? No protest. Terrorist blow up a wedding reception in Israel ? No protest. 200 school children are murdered, some raped before hand. No protest. Terrorsit hijack 4 planes on 9/11, well, they actually danced inthe streets for that one. ( get the picture ? this list could go on for a while.... ) But! Allah have mercy.... a few infidel Danes crank out a mildly amusing cartoon here and there, and the Muslims are on the war path?

Yeah, that makes perfect sense.

It should be abundantly clear by now that our "system" of democracy in this country is broke......

If you mother fuckers allow Donald Trump to be the white male republican I was talking about.....

Then you deserve every single bad thing that's coming to you and your family.

I know that 8 years of Bush Jr. made things so bad that Obama seemed like a good idea....

Don't let 8 years of Obama make you believe that Donald Trump should rule America.

OMG... Presidential Politics is now in the forum of Reality TV......

America is Dead.

are some old political mental designs or political maps simply just 'wrong'

A well deserved one too.

These games get budgets that Hollywood gets for movies now. Games released in a Beta form but charged at full retail price. Always-on requirements for even single-player games. The inability to sell your game when you're done playing it. Pay-to-win micro-transaction schemes are the norm.

Some companies will survive. From Soft is one of those that still releases a complete game without any micro-transactions. They may throw in some upgrade patches in the first few months after a release, but they weren't still building the game when they charged everyone $75 to play it. They've got a sizable and loyal following that is well deserved.

I think the big players will still stay in the business too, despite a crash. But they're going to be relegated to sports games and other major IP like "Call of Duty". The Triple A companies will be the ones heading up the yearly licensed releases. Anything outside of that is just far too risky when you're talking about budgets over $100 Million.

Did you hear about that woke dumpster fire of a game called Concord that just released?

It cost $200 Million+ to develop, and so far it looks like they've only sold about $1 Million.

We all failed Concord.
8 years. Countless hours of blood, sweat and tears. A full team of passionate developers pouring their hearts and souls into this game. And for what? For a bunch of entitled Gamers to call it woke trash and leave it by the wayside? "B-but, it has pronouns!" Good! Can't handle that? I guess you can't handle the English dictionary!

Now gaming will forever lose one of its brightest prospects of 2024, all because we're so afraid of the word 'woke' that we'd rather see nothing but soulless cash grabs and doll-like big-breasted anime girls? Well, you got what you wanted. The game is dead. And so too with it a small hope for the future of gaming.

The replies to this are priceless.
