Put two coats of paint on the shed repairs up top and now the shed is all done except for the final coat on the top and the sides of the shelving. It probably doesn't need it, but I've got half a gallon of that paint left and the more protection on the surface the better. I'm not going to be buying a bunch of contact paper to protect them like I did in the cabinets and pantry. That would just be crazy.

I finished the 2nd coat of enamel paint on the ceiling. It might actually be good. I'll have to see what it looks like on Monday after a few days curing. I have some leftover, so I might go back and hit those first 18 tiles before I found my groove and really got good coverage. Other than that, I'm ready to start painting the walls now finally too.

Got a few disgusting boards from the attic cut up and thrown in the trash, and I brought all of my paint, tar and various caulk tubes inside in case it gets down to freezing or close to it tonight. We'll still have 2 or 3 weeks of warm weather, but today was the coldest day in the forecast for October and tonight looks to be getting dangerously close to freezing.

The great news is that my insulation is working good. I painted out there all day with the windows closed wearing just a t-shirt and jeans and it was more than comfortable. I couldn't believe how cold and windy it had gotten when I finished that and went out for the final coat of paint on those shed repairs. It had to be 20 degrees colder outside, maybe more with the wind chill.

Not bad for an unheated room... although I'm not heating anything until November.

Yeah. I can't believe it. I've been on a roll ever since I started trenching out the foundation for the tar/grates/rocks, and I've barely taken a minute to slow down. Yeah. It's crazy. It was cold this morning and early afternoon, but it wasn't windy. I had one of the windows open last night, so it was just as cool in the porch as it was outside when I started. It's so cool to see how good that room retains the heat now. It's probably the most well insulated room in my house at this point.

I will show you pics of the attic and the shed work at some point. I think the porch would not be something I'd be comfortable showing though since the windows are huge and show everything around me out side. I couldn't show you the before pics either because what they used to have in place of the windows is so unique (and shitty) that it would make it extremely identifiable.

Maybe I'll show you the porch when I finish it but I'll black out the glass.

Im' glad your back. I noticed a week had gone by and you hadn't posted. You probably haven't read through the posts but I was asking where you were last night. Is everything good?

I'm sure that we'll get back to good writing and good directing. They're just losing so much money now and the usual tactics they've been doing to guilt people into seeing bad stuff just isn't working anymore.

I do remember Vegas being on TV when I was a kid. But if it wasn't Sci-Fi, Horror or Cartoons I would rather be playing Atari.

I think for generic characters (and by generic I also mean LEAD characters), such as cops, firemen, doctors it's perfectly fine. Go to a hospital, police station, firehouse, school, etc. and that's what you're going to see there. But if you're doing something based off of real people who were bigger than your generic character, there shouldn't be any race/gender swaps for the person. I can't REALLY think of examples where they've done this with real life characters. I do remember at one point buzz around a new movie that would be made with a black Frank Sinatra, but to my knowledge that movie was never made. I mean, hey... feel free to make it. I missed the last para.

I'll be in and out, mostly out, for a while. spine surgery is a long surgery and a Big Deal, and hubby's 2-3 day hospital stay turned into a 1-week ordeal with me campng out in his room, mostly due to a strange reaction to anesthesia. Home now, finally!

FWIW I hate a lot of the PC remakes, too. SOME roles you can credibly recreate for any sex, race, age or (sometimes) even species ... the heroic/clever/ captain/soundrel, for example.

But River's emergence as some sort of unstoppable fighting machine? I don't care how quik or agile or skilled you are, if you're up against someone literally twice your size and you don't have a weapon to multiply your power (yanno, like a gun) all they need is SOME training and experience bc their sheer size gives them natural advantage. I and my judo sparring partner (back when I took judo) were at the same levl of training but he had about 30 lbs of muscle (he was on the wrestling and swim team) and a couple of inches on me and there was no way in hell I could ever take him on in a real fight. Physics wins every time.

Well, laundry done and vampires as well. Having a sit down now.

24C right now which is around 78F. Very warm for this time of the year. My corner of BC is officially in a drought. But it is also why there are still wildfires burning in Province. There might be a slim chance of rain on Monday but it won't be much.
