Found out why I haven't been hearing from a cousin of mine. The only one I have any contact with. She's had cataract surgery.

I'll give better replies tomorrow, but I'm beat. Got back from doing some huge work over at my grandma's the last two days. If I can manage to fix her tub, it will be like a real house again sometime soon.

Brenda... I wanted to know if you ever heard of a show called "Jamestown"? I watched two shows with Grams last night that I really liked on public television (bonus that there are NO commercials on those channels. )
The first one was called "Miss Scarlett and the Duke". The second one was "Jamestown". I was really impressed with the first show, but even more so by Jamestown. The Pamunkey tribe has a fairly prominent role in it from what I can gather from the one episode I watched, and they are all portrayed by native Americans. I thought it was pretty cool to be seeing that show right after we were just talking about this.
After the show, they did some behind the scenes info about different aspects of the show and it appears that all of the Native American actors and actresses are thrilled with the work and the accurate portrayal of their ancestors and how in this show they aren't just some plot device.
If you haven't seen it, you may want to check it out for yourself. I will be looking into getting the entire series myself. I don't know if they've already made the 3rd season or if they're making it right now, but there will be at least 3 seasons and you can tell that the people involved in making it really care about making a good story.
(And there's plenty of female empowerment in the story, but unlike Hollywood/Comic Movie trash where the magic powers are unearned and come from magical mcguffins it seems entirely earned.)
Here's a scene from the 2nd season. It's not the episode that I saw. I'm not even sure which season the episode I saw was from. You could tell that there was tension between the Pamunkey and the English in the episode I saw, but they were not hostile toward each other in it.

I've not heard of Jamestown or Miss Scarlett and the Duke. They might not be run up here but I will take a look and see if I can find them on YouTube or maybe at my local library.
I'll watch the clips you've supplied then see if I can find them on line or at my library.

Wish I could add to the conversation about superhero characters but I don't know much about them. But your posts are interesting.
I've seen a few superhero movies here and there. I like RDJ, saw him first in Air America with Mel Gibson, then Iron Man and a Sherlock Holmes movie. There are some actors that invest so much authenticity in their characters that it doesn't matter what they're in, they make the role shine. RDJ was one, and it was a shame he lost most of his prime acting years to addiction.
Ron Glass was another. He used to be in NYC cop show called Barney Miller and played such an entitled do-nothing little poppinjay so well that I actually came to despise the character as much as I came to like his character in Firefly.
Hugh Jackman does a great job as wolverine, and every time he plays that character is enjyable.
I liked the Hillerman books a lot, but there was never a series on American television, just the odd movie here and there which I thought was a shame bc the stories were engaging and I got to know a little bit about Navajos (and their neighbors, the Hopi), at least as Hillerman saw them at the time. I'm sure the culture has changed quite a bit since then, as all cultures do. I wish there was a writer today who would write about that area as well as Hillerman did then,

I remember Barney Miller. I was never much into it but it was funny and all the characters were quite well rounded.
No, there were just odd tv movies done on Hillerman's books and they were aired up here on PBS. If I'm right. I don't remember now. I enjoyed them and thank you. Navajo was Wes Studi's character. Been too long.

Finished 2 of the walls in the porch and cut in the first coat of the darker color on the other two walls.
In between drying time on the first two walls, I managed to put the last coat of paint on the tops and fronts of the two big shelves in the shed.
Shed work is done for the year. Attic work is done until I get insulation on sale and finish that up. All of the painting in the porch will be finished tomorrow. Depending on the weather I will clean out the gap between the slab behind the porch and the finished tar and get the self-leveling caulk in there after cutting the backer rod for it. Forecast changed though, so there might be some rain which will keep me from doing that for now. Plenty of cleanup to do though if nothing else tomorrow.
