Well, the rain tally is in for May for BC. Horrible number. 92.1mm of rain. At least it will be dry tomorrow and for the first day of June. But dry and a little warmer means the Interior and out into the Valley are heading for thunder storms with possible lighting strikes.

Quote:Me OTOH ... trying to take care of a 6-month backlog of chores. Yesterday and today the weather was good for gardening. This week I have three binsful of dried weeds and grasses out at the curb. And the front yard looks noticeably better. The neighbors are happy to see yardwork being done, again. I figured I would take care of the fire hazard stuff first, then switch to planting the veggie garden, then switch back to the front yard and just keep pecking away at it. Once the green weeds are done, I'll do the weeding in back, and once THAT is done I'll start working on moving some dirt around the front, re-grading the front and re-doing the hardscape. And once THAT is done, I'll prolly call chipdrop and have them dump a bunch of (free) chipped-up wood as mulch to keep the weeds down. But that will all happen in-between other things like appointments and cooking/cleaning and all that, so it's not going to happen quickly. At least I have the sequence worked out and it's started.
BRENDA: Just a lazy Sunday around me again.
SIX: Me too, Brenda.
I was going to work on cleaning my house today, or at least as much as I could get done before my aunt and grandma came over, but with it hitting 90 degrees today and my aunt's A/C out in her car, we agreed to put it off for another weekend. So instead of doing right and getting a jump start on cleaning the house anyway, I've done nothing all day and it's been pretty nice.

But tomorrow it's going to be above my 80F threshold (I can't imagine working in 90F weather, SIX! I must be a slacker!) so I'm going to be doing indoor stuff for a couple of days. There are a bunch of things I HAVE to order online - clothing for hubby and sis, dusting (very dusty neighborhood) and general cleanup. Plus, yanno, more appointments!
Then back to outdoor stuff for a few more days. So got super-derailed since November bc it seemed like once I was recovering from chemo I went to surgery and just about the time I was recovering from that I had radiation. They leave just enough time for some recovery before they progress to the next treatment. They have it all pretty well-timed to consume someone's entire life for a while! But all-in-all, I have energy back, so aside from various appointments I should be able to chip away at everything that got dropped for so long.

Whew! One of my "indoor tasks" was going over our primary ballot. You have NO IDEA how many positions there are and hopefuls running for them! Especially since we have "open primaries" that allow everyone to vote for everyone. But I put in my diligent review and feel I made reasonable choices.
And now to order some necessary items for the family.
When I finish that ... sorting the mail.

They trying to sneak in tax increases for "education" on you too?
They'd never dare do that during the general election on a Presidential year.

The hot button issues are...
LA County Sheriff. The previous sheriff b4 the current sheriff left bc of a lot of corruption in the dept. The current sheriff promised reform but didn't deliver. So there are a lot of candidates promising change.
Crime in general.
Wildfires and fire insurance, and health insurance.
Homelessness.
The governor (Newsom) SHOULD be under fire, but isn't bc of solid Dem demographics.
Anyway, this belongs in another thread, so if you want to pursue this we can make another thread.

Yes, I did. But the good stuff is always on the top shelf of the freezer. So, I went and got a mop from another aisle and used the handle to knock a box over and off the shelf. Luckily I managed to catch it. Usually the box winds up on the floor.
