That sounds good. I just had some pasta to go with mine. Don't know about tomorrow. Thinking about making some more homemade apple sauce to go into some tart shells I have.

I'm not much of a baker. Could never get the hang of it. Pot pie (with top crust only to save on carbs) is about as far as I got.

I confess the tart shells are bought. I haven't made pie crust in years and truthfully I do very little baking now.
When I was younger and my mum was alive, I would bake whole apple and sometimes rhubarb pies, cakes. Tried my hand at cookies but they didn't come out so good, so I never did that again.
I like to bake but baking for one person is kind of a drag. I'll likely make up some of my eggless, milk less cupcakes for my birthday.
Making homemade applesauce is easy. Cut up the apples put them in a pot with a bit of water and sugar then cook down until soft or mushy. Depending on how you like it. For me this eliminates the risk of lemon being in the mix. Processed apple sauce can have that added.
My dad was the true baker in the family. Cakes, cookies, pies and bread. Oh so good.

Ended up getting a ton of stuff done at Grams.
The basement I used to live in hasn't been cleaned in 12 years since my uncle who was living down there passed away. I hadn't even been down there in years even when I did go over there. My aunt was hoping I could sweep the floors for her.
Did a lot more than that. Got all the cobwebs off the ceilings and walls, moved everything that she said needs to be thrown out (which was everything not attached to the wall) out to the garage to be salted out with the trash over the next month or two, and then I swept up the floor. My aunt says that's the most empty the basement has been since they first bought the place when she was 3 years old. Once everything is out we're probably going to power wash the walls and floor since there are drains down there.
Next time I go back I'm going to do the same to the bedroom and large closet I'd built for myself down there and the fruit cellar if time permits. There's quite a bit of mouse crap in both of those spots though, so it might take more than one day. They took care of the mouse problem last fall, but it must have been worse than my aunt thought. I know where they're coming in, so I'm going to take care of that before winter.
There's also a janky light right by the washer/dryer setup, so I'm going to get a new one and fix that for her. The washer/dryer setup was horrendous too. It really must have been a nightmare for my aunt to even go down there to do laundry, having to duck and weave through the cobwebs and just have that shit all over the place. I gave the washer/dryer a real good cleaning with some bleach and cleaned off a shelf and cabinet on the wall that I installed about 20 years ago now after throwing out about 40lbs of junk around that area so now there's a nice clean place to put the laundry detergent and fabric softener as well as the drain catches and some household cleaning products.
Hopefully all the pictures I'd put down there in plastic cases are still fine, but other than that it's all being junked.
I think my aunt is starting to have a real hard time keeping up with the house and taking care of my grandma on her own. At this point, anything I can do to make life a little easier for her is a win. I didn't let her help me with any of that work today and told her to just relax and enjoy one of her last few vacation days before going back to work.
I didn't have time to play Upwords with Grams though. I promised her that we would when I come back next week.

That was some seriously awesome work, SIX.
I divide work into the kind of stuff you have to do every day (brush teeth and, in my case, cook and wash dishes), the kind of work you have to do every week (sort mail, water potted plants etc) the work you have to do every few weeks, and the work you do maybe once a decade or might not even have to repeat in your entire lifetime.
THAT once-in-a-decade kind of work is a real accomplishment. I hope you're as pleased with your work as your aunt is!
