I'm think anti-vaxxers might make something of this, but I note that - with the exception of CA - the states with the highest increases are low-vaccination states, and the states with the lowest increases are high-vaccination states, so something else is going on. Possibly these are young people who HAD Covid at one point, recovered, and then had a fatal complication. At some point, somebody is going to pick thru the data looking for "cause of death".

AFAIK the best way to find a population-wide medical problem is to look for 'excess' deaths'.

At roughly 3/4 of a million, doesn't the 'pneumonia' deaths seem awfully high, especially give that 'influenza' deaths are so low?

It's the first thing I would look at because it seems anomalous.

BTW I tried to track down a 'pneumonia deaths' figure over the years, through available CDC tables: https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nvsr/nvsr70/nvsr70-09-508.pdf and unfortunately they list "influenza AND pneumonia", not pneumonia separately. So I couldn't track all pneumonia deaths. But somebody with access to the raw data and the right software, like presumably the Epoch Times, could certainly bring that number out.

IMO the 'news' source left out important information. Maybe they never even looked at it. But the picture it paints is incomplete to me. At this point I can't make anything of the numbers, because important context is left out.

If 'pneumonia deaths' is as astronomically high as it looks, that would argue for extremely underdiagnosed COVID-19.

I'm implying that if you get your child vaccinated and they end up dying from the vaccination, you should be brought up on manslaughter charges.
