The hope is that we will achieve something that will have way, way better protection, particularly against infections because the protection against the hospitalizations and the severe disease, it is, it is reasonable right now, with the current vaccines as long as you are having let’s say the third dose.

When it comes to death, in Switzerland, deaths among the mRNA-vaccinated peaked at 1 per 100k and are now at about about half a person, or 0.5. Deaths among the unvaccinated peaked at 16 and are now 12 per 100k.
In the US deaths, deaths among the fully vaccinated (all vaccines) peaked at 1.5 per 100k and as of Oct 30 were 0.5. Deaths among the unvaccinated peaked at 10 and dropped to 3.5.

In terms of reality, rather than Jack's weird distorted fun-house version -
Vaccines don't prevent 'getting' a virus, or bacteria, or fungus. They prevent disease, which is something else entirely.
To take a non-controversial example: imagine you're bitten by a rabid animal. THE VIRUS IS NOW ALREADY IN YOUR BODY - YOU ARE ALREADY COLONIZED! It's attached to your cells, and creating more of itself at the bite wound, and in the process of working up through your nervous system, from the bite to your brain.
The vaccine did nothing to prevent the rabies virus being in your body where you were bitten!
So how does the rabies vaccine work to keep you alive? Because OBVIOUSLY it does something! or people wouldn't bother with it.
The vaccine sets up a race, between the rabies virus and your immune system. The vaccine gives your immune system a head start on fighting the virus, to keep the virus from multiplying and spreading to the point where it causes illness (illness ... disease - something with symptoms that makes you feel unwell) and eventual death.
But the exact same thing is true of ANY injected vaccine - the flu vaccine, or the polio vaccine, or the anthrax vaccine, or the smallpox vaccine, or indeed any other injected vaccine. No injected vaccine will prevent you from being colonized with a bacteria, virus, or fungus. NOTHING short of living in a bubble is going to keep them from colonizing you!
Instead, the role of vaccines is to prevent illness, and death. So, by their nature, preventing illness and death is what common vaccines do. And the same is true of the COVID-19 vaccine.
But I want to explain further. As I've mention - 50 or more times by now - there are 2 separate antibody systems - the internal one and the mucosal one. The internal immune system is under the skin, and uses IgG and IgM antibodies that are carried around in the blood. And whatever is bathed in significant blood circulation is protected by those antibodies. But the internal immune system is as opposed to the peripheral immune system, which found in the mucous membranes of the nose, mouth, upper airways, and eyes. That system works (topologically) on outside of the skin's surface. The mucous tissues actually secrete a different antibody IgA to the external environment. And IgA attaches to the things that it matches antigenically that are outside of the body's surface.
By the very nature of the COVID-19 vaccine - administered by injection - COVID-19 vaccines really only prime the internal immune system as opposed to the mucosal one. As a result, the vaccines have nothing to do with whether or not mucous surfaces get exposed to or infected by COVID-19. The vaccines will never prevent and were never intended to prevent infection - disease-causing inoculation. What they DO is trigger the internal immune system to prevent serious illness like pneumonia, kidney failure, CVS infection ... and death.
Or, as stated in the original vaccine study endpoints - the vaccines were developed to prevent serious infections and deaths.
I don't know how many time I can state this - 100? - to put it across to idiots like Jack-shit. But preventing infections never was the point of the COVID-19 vaccines. Preventing serious illness and death was.
