So just because there are evil people in the world doesn't negate using the term 'good' when discussing the concept 'good'. And just because there are bad governments doesn't mean there is no concept called the 'public good'.

When discussing the US in particular, I'll be looking at results before I apply a term because I think any term needs to be proven in particular instances. So, I'm not saying that everything the US government does, or that any government does, is a 'public good'.

Anyway, this should probably be n a different thread, so I'm x-posting there.

I don't have a problem with the word "Good". I have a problem with using "Public" as a prefix for it.

It's not too far away at all from when they use the word "White" as a prefix for the word "Nationalist". In that case though, they're intentionally conflating Nationalism with Racism. Nationalism is NOT Racism. Nationalism is a good thing. It's the same bad people that throw around the term "Public Good" that try to make you think that Nationalism is a bad thing.

Public means government. Public good means Government Good. In the end, they are the only ones that benefit.

I don't care if you disagree. You're wrong. The term is wrong. Anybody using the term is wrong.

In Biden's America for example Commiefornia it seems Hoodrats who never pay taxes can steal almost 1,000 bucks of stuff, the US Cops can’t stop or prosecute anyone who steals anything worth less than $900 Bucks.
California you can steal up to $346,750 per year per person ($950 that is very day multipled X for a time of 365 days) and not be arrested.

Antifa and BLm can Riot and Burn down cities and all is cool?

Meaningless change is meaningless.

Nearly every single American that is working, even if they're part time minimum-wage workers are going to have more than $10,000 worth of transactions in a year.

This is NOT scaling back to ONLY giving the IRS access to bank accounts with individual transactions OVER $10,000. THEY ALREADY DO THAT.

This is for a collective total of $10,000 in a year.

Hell... the way it's worded, that could simply mean $5,000 in deposits, and the $5,000 of withdrawals of said deposits in a year, meaning that it will hit EVERY American. Who knows? Nobody is telling the truth about any of this.

Democrats are Cancer.

And even FOX News isn't reporting this correctly; somehow framing this as some sort of win that should be celebrated.

Yes, it's still ridiculous.

Banks already report transactions over 10,000 to the IRS. They are also required to "know your customer"- in other words, if you want to open an account the source of your money needs to look legit.

Of course, NONE of this applies to the ultra wealth, who operate thru shell companies etc.

Somewhere I read that paycheck deposits are exempted - that it now applies to unearned income deposits only.

But if they don't get you coming, it looks like they'll get you going, since withdrawals do still count.

I hope that that gets a lot of press, since the average American family withdraws more than $10,000 a year.

And yeah - if the banks are already required to report transactions over $10,000 (not inflation-adjusted since the rule was implemented in 1982 https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/USCODE-2012-title31/pdf/USCODE-201
2-title31-subtitleIV-chap53-subchapII-sec5311.pdf
) why does Congress care about smaller amounts? No 'big money' entity is going to be laundering money in $10,000/ year amounts. This truly doesn't pass the smell test.

Yup.

This doesn't effect the people they say it will at all.

Two categories aren't going to be impacted by this.

1. People who do everything off the books and never even bother with a bank account in the first place.

2. People who were wealthy enough to be making transactions of $10,000 or more. (They were already being watched)

The ONLY thing this bill is for is to spy on every single American with a legit income, no matter how little money they make.

The revision that FOX News seems to be celebrating in that article does absolutely nothing to change that.
