Oh... Since I'm doing Castlevania I have to do this. It might be my favorite Castlevania song. It's certainly the most chill one they've put on offer that I've ever heard.
I really love how the beginning of a lot of these songs are unique and never get repeated, with the looping section coming sometime after the intro to the song.

True, to an extent at least... If it were only lyrics I were interested in, it wouldn't explain my love for video game music. There have been songs in VGM over the years with lyrics, but those have usually been pretty bad if you don't include Japanese lyrics songs. I mean, those lyrics could be pretty bad too, but I wouldn't know.
I think with the examples I was posting above I was going slightly out of my way to give examples of songs with more interesting lyrics.
It's always nice though when a catchy song keeps me listening long enough to realize that it's got good lyrics too.
Like my favorite Weird Al song.

What do you mean by "reviewing data packages"?
In fact, one of our analyses ... one that we developed in the lab ... turned out to be basically the same procedure that international labs use to analyze for chemical weapons, and got one of our chemists a job back in her native country of Finland, where she is now Lab Director for chemical weapons.
But I digress...
Since our analyses would sometimes get involved in costly litigation with deep-pocket industries (think ExxonMobil and Home Depot, for example) the data had to meet high quality assurance standards, and also be relatively easy to "unpack". So EVERYTHING there was to know about a sample -from its initial request, equipment preparation, chain of custody, moisture gain/content to its density to detailed analysis of sub-part-per-million toxics and final, signed report- was collected together in a "data package". The package needed to include the "who, what, when, where, how, and why" of every analysis- all pages signed and dated, all instrument printouts signed and dated, all calibrations referenced to calibration data etc.
I had to review them. And because we trained a lot of new people, I had to review them CLOSELY, and get back with ppl on things like: "You didn't sign this page" or "You mis-identified these peaks" or "Your blanks are too high". My all-time favorite? "Your components add up to 110%".
I put the "anal" into "analytical chemistry".
It was mind-numbing, tedious (but interesting!) work.
But that's one of the reasons why I kind of laugh when people talk about "evidence" or "audits" or "how much moisture is in the air" or even "how bureaucracy works" as if they know what they're talking about, and I don't. I know KIKI has similar experience, but while I have the 10,000-ft view, KIKI has that whole 30,000-ft interagency thing going. And KIKI is MUCH more knowledgeable about biochem and all things medical.

Not like a favorite of mine or anything, but I heard it on the radio the other day and a wave of nostalgia hit me. I didn't even remember that it was Selena who did the song until I looked it up with some of the words on the Tube.
It is a cute video from a different time. Girls her age when this song was made are putting out some pretty terrible shit these days.
If you want to feel even better, take a look at the comment section. There was a boatload of love for that girl.
