Sure. Whatever.

Meanwhile - HAVE YOU NOTICED THAT NOT ONE DEMOCRAT* POLITICO HAS EVER BEEN INTERESTED IN LOOKING INTO VARIOUS ELECTIONS AND THEIR MANY STATISTICAL ABNORMALITIES? Not 2000, not 2004, and not 2020? NOT ONE.

And not at all interested in what the best minds at MIT/ JPL have to say about the simple, mechanical process of just getting reliable vote counts?

But HEY! when it comes to passing mindless VIRTUE SIGNALLING LEGISLATION (that will never become law, and for which the democrats* will never be held accountable) instead of crafting sturdy problem-solving procedures, DEMOCRATS* ARE ALL OVER IT !!!!

And if democrats* don't do any different, how are they any better?

Oh, do explain the bill and how it's "virtue signaling."

Tell me - what in the bill improves the voting process so that all votes are legitimate and all legitimate votes are accurately counted? Or, to be more specific - what in the bill addresses anything that JPL/ MIT found were serious problems, or that implements any of their solutions?

MEANWHILE - the democratic* bill passed by the House will not become law. It could be written on toilet paper for all it'll affect. It will never be put to the test as an effective legislative solution. But it sure is easy enough to come up with dream bills for dreamscapes that will never be put to any test except the dreamy political correctness one.

Not so comrade kiki. I posted this in response to her post.

I see comrade sig is still posting unsubstantiated and taken out of context crap. It probably comes from ZHedge. If not then from one of her many other bullshit sources; russia maybe. It shows she knows the post to be lies and she knows if she sources it we'll all know. Sorry comrade, we already know.

Brace yourselves; she'll now post other stories from mainstream media regarding what shes' posted as though they back her claims. No, they won't because what she posted are stories where shes' changed the context to imply something other than what the legit stories report. In her latest claim, what she claims to be relevant "connected" to the original story, is in fact not even thinly related.

Is there anybody here who posts honestly that doesn't know she has done this again and again for years. Shes' certainly been doing this since my arrival.

The news, the DC swamp, the FIB... they claim that truth is a lies, and lies are truth. Just, yanno, invert what they say and you'll have a clearer picture.

Everything that Trump tweeted is true. The only thing that will set the next election right is if Legislatures and Governors and Secretaries of State REQUIRE a vote procedure that is secure and auditable. We've had at least three examples of stolen elections since 2000 (GWB, GWB, and Biden) but the establishment wings of both parties don't mind: they reach secret deals about who is "supposed" to win which election.

AND after NOT addressing anything in Signy's post CC tries try to derail any pretense at a discussion even further with another irrelevant topic!

There is a reason why Trump sues or fires everyone that crosses him and why 1kiki, Signym, and 6ix are forever arguing with everyone:

What the Science of Addiction Tells Us About Trump

By James Kimmel, Jr., lecturer in psychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine

It turns out that your brain on grievances looks a lot like your brain on drugs. And that’s a problem not just for the outgoing president, but for the rest of us.

President Donald Trump has made grievance a primary feature of his life and presidency, from the thousands of lawsuits he has filed to, most recently, his repeated claims of national election fraud. His opponents, and even many of his supporters, have wondered why he can’t seem to control his urges to lash out at perceived enemies.

I am a violence researcher and study the role of grievances and retaliation in violent crime. Recently, I’ve been researching the way grievances affect the brain, and it turns out that your brain on grievance looks a lot like your brain on drugs. In fact, brain imaging studies show that harboring a grievance (a perceived wrong or injustice, real or imagined) activates the same neural reward circuitry as narcotics.

This isn’t a metaphor; it’s brain biology. Scientists have found that in substance addiction, environmental cues such as being in a place where drugs are taken or meeting another person who takes drugs cause sharp surges of dopamine in crucial reward and habit regions of the brain, specifically, the nucleus accumbens and dorsal striatum. This triggers cravings in anticipation of experiencing pleasure and relief through intoxication. Recent studies show that similarly, cues such as experiencing or being reminded of a perceived wrong or injustice — a grievance — activate these same reward and habit regions of the brain, triggering cravings in anticipation of experiencing pleasure and relief through retaliation. To be clear, the retaliation doesn’t need to be physically violent—an unkind word, or tweet, can also be very gratifying.

Although these are new findings and the research in this area is not yet settled, what this suggests is that similar to the way people become addicted to drugs or gambling, people may also become addicted to seeking retribution against their enemies—revenge addiction. This may help explain why some people just can’t let go of their grievances long after others feel they should have moved on—and why some people resort to violence.

It’s worth asking whether this helps explain Trump’s fixation on his grievances and ways of exacting retribution for them. The hallmark of addiction is compulsive behavior despite harmful consequences. Trump’s unrelenting efforts to retaliate against those he believes have treated him unjustly (including, now, American voters) appear to be compulsive and uncontrollable. The harm this causes to himself and others is obvious but seems to have no deterrent effect. Reports suggest he has been doing this for much of his life. He seems powerless to stop. He also seems to derive a great deal of pleasure from it.

The science of addiction provides another cautionary insight: Trump’s revenge habit hurts not only himself and the targets of his retaliatory wrath, but the rest of us, too.

Like substance addiction, revenge addiction appears to spread from person to person. For instance, inner-city gun violence spreads in neighborhoods like a social contagion, with one person’s grievances infecting others with a desire to seek vengeance. Because of his unique position and use of the media and social networks, Trump is able to spread his grievances to thousands or millions of others through Twitter, TV and rallies. His demand for retribution becomes their demand, causing his supporters to crave retaliation—and, in a vicious cycle, this in turn causes Trump’s targets and their supporters to feel aggrieved and want to retaliate, too.

What can be done? When a friend or family member ha

Mark A. Aguirre, 63, is accused of running his SUV into the back of a truck belonging to an air conditioner repairman, convinced the truck contained 750,000 fraudulent ballots.

An air conditioning repairman was driving in south Houston around 5:30 a.m. on Oct. 19 when a black SUV rammed the back of his truck. When he pulled over in the darkness and got out to check if the other driver was OK, the man in the SUV drew a pistol and ordered him to the ground.

He complied. As the other driver drove a knee into his back, the repairman saw two other vehicles pull up. It was the police.

Aguirre told police they would find hundreds of thousands of ballots in the repairman’s truck. Instead they found only air conditioner parts and tools.

According to an indictment announced Tuesday by the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, the incident was a brazen attempt by a former Houston police captain to secure evidence to support a far-fetched claim that prominent local Democrats had orchestrated a scheme to harvest more than 700,000 ballots leading up to the Nov. 3 election. The ex-lawman, Mark A. Aguirre, 63, faces a felony charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon stemming from the Oct. 19 confrontation.

“He crossed the line from dirty politics to commission of a violent crime and we are lucky no one was killed,” District Attorney Kim Ogg said. “His alleged investigation was backward from the start — first alleging a crime had occurred and then trying to prove it happened.”

e.com/news/houston-texas/houston/article/Ex-Houston-police-captain-who-alleged-unfounded-15803963.php

Meanwhile, grand jury subpoenas revealed that Aguirre received a total of $266,400 from Liberty Center for God and Country in September and October, the vast majority of which — $211,400 — came the day after the alleged aggravated assault incident. Former Harris County Republican Party Chairman Jared Woodfill is president of the group; Hotze is CEO, according to the group’s website.

The group raised nearly $70,000 through a GoFundMe page in October. Donors included Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller, conservative activist JoAnn Fleming and former Republican state representatives Rick Green and Jodie Laubenberg.

Longtime Republican strategist Steve Schmidt left the GOP and registered as a Democrat. His lone issue: democracy.

“At the end of the day,” he said Tuesday, “there’s now one pro-democracy political party in the United States of America, and that’s the Democratic Party. And I am a member of that party because of that.”

“What happened in the month of November — premeditatedly, deliberately — was that faith and belief in American democracy was poisoned by President Trump, culminating with 126 members of the House of Representatives and 18 Republican attorneys general signing an amicus brief to a garbage lawsuit that is in essence a declaration of repudiation of American democracy.”

The infamous Trump-Fox feedback loop is very dangerous — but Fox is now getting some competition from One America News, as President Donald Trump is promoting conspiracy theories that he sees on OAN about his defeat in the 2020 election.

As documented by Media Matters’ Matt Gertz, Trump was up late last night watching one of Fox’s emerging rivals, One America News, and tweeted about a segment that claimed a study had shown machines from Dominion Voting Systems shifted 2-3% of votes from Trump to President-elect Joe Biden in key swing states.

That includes governors, secretaries of state, county clerks, registrars, election commissioners, judges (most of them, anyway), and the Supreme Court.

The ‘Red Slime’ Lawsuit That Could Sink Right-Wing Media
Voting machine companies threaten “highly dangerous” cases against Fox, Newsmax and OAN, says Floyd Abrams.
https://www.nytimes.com/2020/12/20/business/media/smartmatic-lawsuit-f
ox-news-newsmax-oan.html

Trump and his campaign claims to have "all the evidence in the world" to support his grand conspiracy of fraud, yet didn't offer a shred of credible evidence once. You had the Speaker who mentions having a folder "full" of cases, yet never once actually opened it or read one aloud (probably because it's a fake folder full of blank pieces of paper. I wonder where she got that idea from?)

You had over 50 cases being thrown out over a lack of credible evidence, and that should've been the end of it. Unfortunately, you still have these people from Trump himself, Giuliani, Powell, and the hosts from OANN, Info Wars, Fox, and Newsmax who are still spewing the same bullshit since Nov. with the stories changing wildly but overall containing the same message. Until they're taken to court, they will never shut up about it.

I can only imagine that Dominion Voting Systems and Smartmatic are taking huge financial hits since November, and god only knows the amount of threats and harassments they've received or continue to receive from other trumptards who think they're in cahoots with the devil or Soros or some shit.

If there's any chance at someone suing these Reichwing media groups, it's these guys, because this is simply defamation. As long as they don't agree on an out of court settlement, and go for blood, this should be interesting.

You know, all *** I *** have been advocating is a neutral, academic, high-powered look into the statistical anomalies of the 2020 election; and pointing out that after all these decades, NEITHER party seems interested in fixing the problems. And Signy has repeatedly posted we need paper ballots, hand-counted, in public. How trollish of us to point out factual problems and remedies.

To reiterate - I HAVE pointed out - factually - that there were significant statistical anomalies in 2020 that need to be looked into, by neutral academics with stellar reputations. You know, like the ones who have already spent many years criticizing the US voting so-called system.

And we know that the joint CalTech/ MIT Vote Technology Project has been EXTREMELY critical (in a polite academic way) of how the US votes.
Project http://vote.caltech.edu/

And what we know is that NONE of the remedies they say are needed have been implemented ... like auditability, paper ballots, hand-counted - and, I might add - in public. JEEZE - who's been posting THAT all along? Those crazy Russian trolls at CalTech/ MIT? Maybe you should give THEM a piece of your mind, SECOND! Yanno, in writing, with your real name at the bottom.

MEANWHILE, I've noticed INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING reporting, with headlines that purport to be about "election fraud" and "vote fraud" are REALLY about VOTER fraud. And VOTER fraud is a very narrow topic, which has nothing to do with all the voting problems that the CalTech/ MIT experts have found that put the legitimacy of the elections in doubt.

To get back to your post -

Quote:

From there, both hosts noted that their viewers “should be aware of Newsmax has found no evidence that either dominion or Smartmatic owns the other or has any business association with each other,” assertions that have been repeated consistently by Trump lawyers Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell.

“We have no evidence that Dominion uses Smartmatic software or vice versa,” the fact-check continued. “No evidence has been offered that Dominion or Smartmatic used software or reprogrammed software that manipulated votes in the 2020 election. Smartmatic has stated that its software was only used in the 2020 election in Los Angeles, was not used in any battleground state contested by the Trump campaign. Newsmax has no evidence to the contrary.”

“Smartmatic states it has no operations in Venezuela,” the hosts declared. “While the company did election projects in Venezuela from 2004 to 2017, it states it never was founded by Hugo Chavez, nor did it have a corrupt relationship with him or the Venezuelan government.”

Considering that nobody here has posted anything like that, your post is, once again, completely pointless, SECOND.

Back in 2004 the election went from exit polls that said Kerry would win by 3% to "voting" results that had Bush win by 2.5%.

Quote:

The exit pollster of record for the 2004 election was the Edison/Mitofsky1 consortium. Their national poll results projected a Kerry victory by 3.0%, whereas the official count had Bush winning by 2.5%.2Several methods have been used to estimate the probability that the national exit poll results would be as different as they were from the national popular vote by random chance. These estimates range from 1 in 16.5 million to 1 in 1,2403. No matter how one calculates it, the discrepancy cannot be attributed to chance.
This is the statistical analysis I've been pointing to for well over a month, that showed that - indeed - elections can be rigged by the many percentage points. And all that was done without leaving a trace, mostly because, as CalTech/ MIT pointed out, the vote was not auditable

Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

There are many statistical anomalies in the 2020 election that need a thorough, professional, knowledgeable academic look. And if there was tampering, the only indication would be statistical improbabilities that can't happen by random chance. And that's because, just like in 2004, the votes are not auditable.

But a thorough academic study is a process that NEITHER party seems to want.

Too bad, but the House of Representatives already passed the law covering everything you could possibly want, 1kiki, over the objections of the Republicans in the House. Once the law got to the Senate, it was killed by Mitch McConnell, a Republican.

SEC. 3000. Short title; sense of Congress.

(a) Short title.—This title may be cited as the “Election Security Act”.

(b) Sense of Congress on need to improve election infrastructure security.—It is the sense of Congress that, in light of the lessons learned from Russian interference in the 2016 Presidential election, the Federal Government should intensify its efforts to improve the security of election infrastructure in the United States, including through the use of individual, durable, paper ballots marked by the voter by hand.

Antonio Mugica was in Boca Raton when an American presidential election really melted down in 2000, and he watched with shocked fascination as local government officials argued over hanging chads and butterfly ballots.

It was so bad, so incompetent, that Mr. Mugica, a young Venezuelan software engineer, decided to shift the focus of his digital security company, Smartmatic, which had been working for banks. It would offer its services to what would obviously be a growth industry: electronic voting machines. He began building a global company that ultimately provided voting machinery and software for elections from Brazil to Belgium and his native Venezuela. He even acquired an American company, then called Sequoia.

Last month, Mr. Mugica initially took it in stride when his company’s name started popping up in grief-addled Trump supporters’ wild conspiracy theories about the election.

“Of course I was surprised, but at the same time, it was pretty clear that these people were trying to discredit the election and they were throwing out 25 conspiracy theories in parallel,” he told me in an interview last week from Barbados, where his company has an office. “I thought it was so absurd that it was not going to have legs.”

But by Nov. 14, he knew he had a problem. That’s when Rudy Giuliani, serving as the president’s lawyer, suggested that one voting company, Dominion Voting Systems, had a sinister connection to vote counts in “Michigan, Arizona and Georgia and other states.” Mr. Giuliani declared on Twitter that the company “was a front for SMARTMATIC, who was really doing the computing. Look up SMARTMATIC and tweet me what you think?”

Soon his company, and a competitor, Dominion — which sells its services to about 1,900 of the county governments that administer elections across America — were at the center of Mr. Giuliani’s and Sidney Powell’s theories, and on the tongues of commentators on Fox News and its farther-right rivals, Newsmax and One America News.

“Sidney Powell is out there saying that states like Texas, they turned away from Dominion machines, because really there’s only one reason why you buy a Dominion machine and you buy this Smartmatic software, so you can easily change votes,” the Newsmax host Chris Salcedo said in one typical mash-up on Nov. 18. Maria Bartiromo of Fox Business reported on Nov. 15 that “one source says that the key point to understand is that the Smartmatic system has a backdoor.”

Here’s the thing: Smartmatic wasn’t even used in the contested states. The company, now a major global player with over 300 employees, pulled out of the United States in 2007 after a controversy over its founders’ Venezuelan roots, and its only involvement this November was with a contract to help Los Angeles County run its election.

In an era of brazen political lies, Mr. Mugica has emerged as an unlikely figure with the power to put the genie back in the bottle. Last week, his lawyer sent scathing letters to the Fox News Channel, Newsmax and OAN demanding that they immediately, forcefully clear his company’s name — and that they retain documents for a planned defamation lawsuit. He has, legal experts say, an unusually strong case. And his new lawyer is J. Erik Connolly, who not coincidentally won the largest settlement in the history of American media defamation in 2017, at least $177 million, for a beef producer whose “lean finely textured beef” was described by ABC News as “pink slime.”

Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. Fetterman relentlessly trolls Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick seeking $1M voter fraud bounty

All John Fetterman wants for Christmas is the $3 million he says Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick owes him.

The Democratic lieutenant governor of Pennsylvania has been trolling his Republican counterpart for weeks to collect on the $1 million Patrick offered in November for evidence of fraud in the Nov. 3 election. Three supporters of President Donald Trump have now been charged in separate voter fraud schemes in Pennsylvania. Fetterman says they should all count for bounty purposes.

The most recent charges came this week — against the second Pennsylvania man to be accused of casting a ballot for Trump in the name of his deceased mother.

“We hit the jackpot with this last one,” Fetterman said. “There are three documented cases — three.”

“All I want for Christmas is my handsome reward from Dan Patrick,” Fetterman tweeted on Dec. 18 with a Christmas tree and pleading face emoji. Fetterman says he’ll donate the proceeds to food banks in the form of gift cards to Sheetz and Wawa, competing Pennsylvania convenience stores with die-hard followings.

Patrick has responded to Fetterman just once, in a tweet in November that read: “Faith in the electoral process is a serious issue. Transparency is critical. PA Dems brought this on themselves w/ last minute changes to election laws and counting ballots behind closed doors. Respond to the reports. Answer the questions. Stop the snide put-downs and #getserious”

Fetterman says he is serious — about debunking the false allegations being thrown at his state. He has taken the lead in Pennsylvania pushing back on bogus claims of voter fraud circulated by Trump and his allies. Patrick — honorary chairman of Trump’s campaign in Texas — and his million-dollar reward are helping to disprove those claims, Fetterman says.

“While it’s undoubtedly and undeniably hilarious these cases involved Trump voters and their dead mothers, it’s irrelevant because it documents how truly rare voter fraud is and how impossible it is to truly pull it off,” Fetterman said.

Fetterman has spent the last six weeks hounding Patrick, who he says is “just such a Trump simp, it’s just pathetic.”

“The thing that’s so especially galling is that people like him were smearing our state when we actually had an impeccable election,” Fetterman said. “They keep trying to malign and smear the quality work done by both sides — we’ve got way more Republican counties than Democratic counties. He’s smearing Republicans and Democrats alike when he impugns the electoral integrity.”

“If you’re going to smear my state, then you need to pay up, because we delivered what you asked for,” he said.

Sherry Sylvester, a spokeswoman for Patrick, responded: “It is not clear why Lt. Gov. Fetterman continues on this topic since Democrats don’t believe in voter fraud — unless it’s the Russians.”
She would not say whether any voter fraud tips have led to payments.

Supposedly, getting Dominion to sue is what Sidney Powell wanted in the first place, because as defendant she gets "discovery", which allows her to conduct an investigation. Something she couldn't actually do as plaintiff. That's how she uneartherd all of that exculpatory evidence on Flynn that forced the DOJ to drop its case, and it might turn out to be a very smart move in her fraud case.

Signym, there is no truth in your paragraph. DOJ dropped the Flynn prosecution because Trump wanted it. When the sentencing/jailing of Flynn was about to happen despite the DOJ, Trump had to pardon Flynn. The Supreme Court has recognized that the acceptance of a pardon implies a 'confession' of guilt. Without that pardon, Flynn was going to jail and Flynn's lawyer, Sidney Powell, asked for the pardon to save her client.

In September: “General Flynn is entitled to a public exoneration by the court,” Sidney Powell said in an email. “If the system works right, the wrongful prosecution will be dismissed with prejudice. No pardon should be needed. General Flynn is innocent.” It just so happened that a pardon was needed, after everything was said and done.

Trump Coup Attempt Coming January 6?

That there will be an attempted coup is no longer a matter of speculation. In an appearance on “Fox & Friends” on December 14, Stephen Miller, perhaps the most deranged and malevolent of Trump’s senior advisers, openly declared the administration’s plan to overturn the election results in the upcoming joint session.

It’s all but certain that when the joint session convenes on January 6, objections to the electoral votes cast in the swing states of Arizona, Nevada, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania indeed will be lodged.

A drama not seen in this country since the election of 1876, when alternate slates of electors were sent to the Senate on behalf of Democrat Samuel Tilden and Republican Rutherford B. Hayes (the eventual winner), will then ensue. The Democrats conceded the election to Hayes in return for an end to Reconstruction and the withdrawal of federal troops from the South. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1876_United_States_presidential_election

Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything. Mike Pence counts the votes on Jan 6th. He might surprise you.

Thomas Jefferson, author of the Declaration of Independence, the man whose face adorns Mt Rushmore, among the most revered founding fathers of our country, only became President because he used his unilateral power as President of the Senate to open and count the presidential ballots in his own favor.

Come January 2021, Vice President Mike Pence will be presented with the sealed certificates containing the ballots of the presidential electors. At that moment, the Presidency will be in his hands. And there is nothing stopping Pence, under the authority vested in him as President of the Senate, from declining to open and count the certificates from the six disputed states. If they are (as more than 70% of Republicans believe) certificates from non-electors appointed via voter fraud, why should he open and count them?

The President’s position going into January 2021 is thus considerably stronger than the mainstream media would like to admit. There is Constitutional language and historical precedent that gives his Vice President the unilateral power to decide the outcome of our contested election.

“A group of Republican lawmakers in Pennsylvania say 200,000 more votes were counted in the 2020 Election than voters (100% went to Biden). State Representative Frank Ryan said they found troubling discrepancies after an analysis of Election Day data.” @FoxNews

This is far more votes than is needed by me to win Pennsylvania, not to mention hundreds of thousands of votes in other categories which increase my already big lead into a landslide. All other Swing States show likewise. WE NEED NEW & ENERGETIC REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP. This can not stand. Can you imagine if the Republicans stole a Presidential Election from the Democrats - All hell would break out. Republican leadership only wants the path of least resistance. Our leaders (not me, of course!) are pathetic. They only know how to lose! P.S. I got MANY Senators and Congressmen/Congresswomen Elected. I do believe they forgot!

Apparently she doesn't know how quotes work, or she'd know that he used them correctly.

The only way that what you described above would have been true is if he had only put the quotes around "breaking news" or just around "news".

He quoted a headline of an article. Usage was correct.

What have you done today to earn your place in this crowded world? :)

Trump's biggest problem now is that he waited too long to shit all over the terrible Republican "leadership" in this country.

Under the paper-thin surface, there's no difference between Nancy Pelosi and Mitch McConnell. Two sides of the same coin.

They're both thrilled that Biden* won* the election.

Pelosi and Mitch agree with me that Trump has always been a fat dumb lazy fucker. If you can't see those deficiencies in Trump, too bad for you.

Where they disagree is policy. Pelosi and Mitch are as different as a green traffic light and a red stop light.

Here is one answer from google:

More than 159 million registered voters cast ballots in the general election, out of 239 million eligible voters. So it is completely possible that Trump and Biden would post that many total votes.

Sen. Ben Sasse, R-Neb., tore into Republicans who plan to object during the certification of the Electoral College vote next week, saying his party's willingness to entertain President Donald Trump's unsubstantiated claims of voter fraud in this year's election was fueled by worries about how the president and his base would react.

"The president and his allies are playing with fire," Sasse said in a lengthy Facebook post Wednesday night. "If you make big claims, you had better have the evidence. But the president doesn’t and neither do the institutional arsonist members of Congress who will object to the Electoral College vote."

"Let’s be clear what is happening here: We have a bunch of ambitious politicians who think there’s a quick way to tap into the president’s populist base without doing any real, long-term damage. But they’re wrong — and this issue is bigger than anyone’s personal ambitions," Sasse wrote. "Adults don’t point a loaded gun at the heart of legitimate self-government."

"When we talk in private, I haven’t heard a single congressional Republican allege that the election results were fraudulent — not one. Instead, I hear them talk about their worries about how they will 'look' to President Trump’s most ardent supporters," Sasse wrote.

Vice President Mike Pence's lawyers asked a federal judge Thursday to reject a request from Rep. Louie Gohmert of Texas that attempts to force Pence to ignore electoral votes of several key states when Congress meets to certify the 2020 presidential election next week.

"Plaintiffs have presented this Court with an emergency motion raising a host of weighty legal issues about the manner in which the electoral votes for President are to be counted," Pence's filing states. "But these plaintiffs' suit is not a proper vehicle for addressing those issues because plaintiffs have sued the wrong defendant. A suit to establish that the Vice President has discretion over the count, filed against the Vice President, is a walking legal contradiction."

Gohmert argues that the Electoral Count Act unconstitutionally binds Pence to the Electoral College count certified by the states, saying that "Under the Twelfth Amendment, Defendant Pence alone has the exclusive authority and sole discretion to open and permit the counting of the electoral votes for a given state, and where there are competing slates of electors, or where there is objection to any single slate of electors, to determine which electors' votes, or whether none, shall be counted," the suit argues.

Pence's filing pointed out the irony of Gohmert's argument. "Ironically, Representative Gohmert's position, if adopted by the Court, would actually deprive him of his opportunity as a Member of the House under the Electoral Count Act to raise objections to the counting of electoral votes, and then to debate and vote on them."

First thing, no matter what happens in the Georgia runoff elections for the Senate, the Democrats will NOT be running the show in the Senate. When Mitch McConnell is majority leader, Mitch can easily kill any Democrat sponsored legislation without anybody helping him. When he is NOT majority leader, he needs cooperation from 40 Republican Senators to kill anything. Mitch will have that cooperation. If you don't know the rules of the Senate, 6ix, learn them.

The president’s repeated attacks on the voting system could end up depressing turnout in the critical Georgia runoffs. The questions about the integrity of the election may help explain why it seems that Democrats far outpaced Republicans in early voting in the state. A record three million voters in Georgia cast their ballots early for the runoffs. The early voting period ended Thursday and no votes will be counted until polls close Tuesday but data shows more votes were cast in areas that tend to favor Democrats. That means Republicans need to come out in large numbers on the day of the election in order make up the difference.

Incorrect.

In a 50/50 split senate, the Vice President gets the final vote in any tie. The VP does not get a vote on matters where there is no tie, and can choose not to weigh in, in the event of a tie, but the Democrats WILL be running the show in the Senate if they win both runoffs in Georgia.

Quote:

He won't be the majority leader of anything in the event of a 50/50 split after Pence is out.

Quote:

This makes zero sense and you're going to need citations to back this bogus claim up. What you're suggesting is that the Senate Minority Leader can block anything that comes down the pike without a vote in Senate just because. If that were the case, the Senate would never vote on anything in any 2 year period where there was a 59/41 split to a 50/50 split, which obviously hasn't happened.

Quote:

If you don't know the rules of the Senate, 6ix, learn them.

You first buddy.

Although there has never been any official legislation recognizing a Senate Majority or Senate Minority Leader as official offices in the chamber, Senate rules and precedents do recognize the roles.

In the event of a 50/50 split, the Senate Majority Leader would likely be decided by the Vice President's party as has been tradition.

Based on what Jack posted, of what he claims second posted, I believe all knowing Jack=ass should have responded. The 60% rule applies to cloture of debate — meaning the vote to end further debate. So while a bill is being debated, the rule would require 60 votes to end the debate. But once ended, the vote to approve the bill only takes 50%+1 vote to pass.

The cloture rule is a self-imposed one by the Senate, and it can suspend it at will with only a simple majority (50%+1) vote.

As I see it, seconds only mistake was assuming Jack was smart enough to understand what he was implying. Again, I'm basing my response on a sentence Jack cut and pasted. It would not be unusual for him to misrepresent what second or anyone else for that matter posts.

It is not going unnoticed that Jack is always testifying how smart he is lately. Jack, your insecurity is showing again. I know, I will mispell a word again so you can pounce. Who loves ya buddy?

Thanks to Signy you've worked your way past your signature problems.

Here's 2 general rules of thumb:

The bracket commands like
[ i] [ b] [ u] [ quote] [ anyinstruction]

are designed specifically for this website software. And the software is made to recognize them, and also to reset them back to being inactive at then end of your post.
In other words
if you don't reverse
[ i] [ b] [ u] [ quote] [ any instruction]
through
[ /i] [ /b] [ /u] [ /quote] [ /any instruction]
by the end of your post, the database will do it for you.

The < > commands are general html commands, recognized by html pages.
You can reset the font type, the color, the size, and other attributes though font =. You can do a strikethrough with < strike>
You can center your text with < center>.
HOWEVER, the fireflyfans software doesn't either specifically recognize them, OR reset them at the end of your post.
You have to do that yourself.
As you've found, you can use a very
general /font command to reverse a specific font = command.
But you have to negate every
/font
/strike
/center
as many time as you've done a
font = color, a font = (font type), or a font = size,
strike
center. (There are exceptions but it's too tedious to explain.)
So, count up how many
font =
strike
center
and reverse them through as many
/font
/strike
/center

Renaming a post office to honor a local is one thing, but passing significant legislation requires 60 votes. Obamacare is the example:

Going into the 2008 elections, the Senate consisted of 49 Democrats, 49 Republicans, and two Independents (Joe Lieberman of Connecticut and Bernie Sanders of Vermont) who caucused with the Democrats. When the smoke cleared from those elections, the Democrats picked up eight seats to increase their majority to 57-41 (although Democrat Al Franken’s recount victory was not official until July 7). With the two Independents, the Democrats were one vote shy of the supermajority magic number of 60 they needed to ward off any filibuster attempts and move forward with broad healthcare reform legislation.

But on April 28, 2009, the dynamics changed when Pennsylvania Republican Arlen Spector changed parties, giving Senate Democrats that coveted 60th vote.

Congress was designed to cause stalemates and gridlock with the understanding that doing nothing legislatively is always better than doing something imperfectly, something that only 50% + 1 might want. Congress could NOT decide one way or the other about slavery, after having 87 years to think about finally making the obvious decision. The obvious decision could have only been made because slave-owning Congressmen got expelled when their states went to war with the United States. If those states hadn't gone to war, slavery would probably never end, because Congress could have never come to a decision. The US would have kept slavery while the rest of the Universe ended it, just like the US keeps miles, inches and gallons while the rest of the Universe switched to metric.

Well I guess you got me on that one.

But I think that's more of a systemic problem than one to be attributed to Congress specifically.

These types of problems are what happened when an entire country decided to allow a central authority decide the curriculum taught to every child for all that "free" money.

There's a reason why so many teachers are terrible at their jobs today. It's because there's no systemic need for good teachers. They're basically just glorified teleprompter readers at this point. Outside of an otherwise worthless college degree, the only two requirements for a public school teacher is the ability to fog up a mirror held under their nose and no known prior history of diddling kids.

My Pillow CEO Mike Lindell ordered to follow through with $5 million payment to expert who debunked his false election data

Lindell, a purveyor of election conspiracies, vowed to award the multimillion-dollar sum to any cyber security expert who could disprove his data. An arbitration panel awarded Robert Zeidman, who has decades in software development experience, a $5 million payout on Wednesday after he sued Lindell over the sum.

CNN has obtained arbitration documents and video depositions, including a deposition of Lindell, related to the dispute.

“Based on the foregoing analysis, Mr. Zeidman performed under the contract,” the arbitration panel wrote in its decision. “He proved the data Lindell LLC provided, and represented reflected information from the November 2020 election, unequivocally did not reflect November 2020 election data. Failure to pay Mr. Zeidman the $5 million prized was a breach of the contract, entitling him to recover.”

The decision marks yet another blow to the MyPillow CEO’s credibility after he publicly touted unproven claims of widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election. Lindell has also faced defamation suits related to his election claims.
