OSCE slams Trump's 'baseless allegations' of US electoral fraud
The OSCE mission, which sent 102 representatives from 39 countries to the country, will now remain in the US until all votes have been counted.
The international election observer mission has hit out at US President Donald Trump's "baseless allegations" of electoral fraud, saying it found no evidence to support his claims.
The international election observer mission to the US has concluded there was no evidence of election fraud and Tuesday's presidential vote was "competitive and well managed," despite "logistical challenges" as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) noted statements made by President Donald Trump about deficiencies within the country's electoral system were baseless and eroded trust in democracy.
"Baseless allegations of systematic deficiencies, notably by the incumbent president, including on election night, harm public trust in democratic institutions," Michael Georg Link, the leader and special coordinator of the short-term OSCE observer mission, said in a statement Wednesday.
Trump has repeatedly claimed without evidence that the US electoral system is vulnerable to voter fraud.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) warned that President Trump should not concede defeat in the 2020 presidential election in part because Republicans will "never" be able to elect another president from their party again.
"If Republicans don't challenge and change the U.S. election system, there will never be another Republican president elected again," Graham said Sunday on Fox News.

The Trump-Fox feedback loop is empowering the president’s loyal supporters at the network as they use their programs to cast doubt on the election results. Their credulous coverage of his legal effort is hardening Trump’s intransigence, making him less likely to acknowledge defeat and allow his administration to begin the transition process. And he is amplifying their lies to his social media followers, helping to prevent his supporters from accepting his defeat as legitimate.
Trump has sent at least 16 tweets since Friday night highlighting Fox coverage that undermined the results of the election. The quotes and clips he amplified promoted a slew of false and misleading claims about the vote, resulting in 10 of those tweets being flagged in some way by the social media company.
On Sunday afternoon, Trump urged his followers to watch Fox host Mark Levin’s show that night for information about the “Mail-In Ballot Hoax!” He later tweeted a clip from the show in which Trumpist lawyer Ken Starr claimed that “to count every vote may be a crime,” while Levin floated the possibility of the Republican-dominated Pennsylvania legislature bypassing the state’s popular vote and trying to award the state’s electoral votes to Trump (state Republican leaders have consistently said they will not do this).
In another clip the president shared, from Fox’s Sunday Morning Futures, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), the chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, claimed that “this is a contested election” and urged the president not to concede, citing in part a false claim about Michigan’s election software. “So, to my Republican colleagues out there, we have to fight back, or we will accept our fate,” he said.
Graham’s colleagues are “fighting back,” and they’re doing it on Fox. Trump also tweeted supportive clips of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), and Reps. Jim Jordan (R-OH) and Matt Gaetz (R-FL) casting doubt on the election during appearances on the network.
This is horrifying, but not surprising. The president had frequently used the network’s coverage to cast doubt on the election in the months leading up to Election Day, and he did something similar following the 2018 midterm elections.
Whatever effort Fox founder Rupert Murdoch may be exerting to try to bring Trump closer to reality in the wake of his defeat appears to be insufficient. Murdoch’s employees are still actively trying to tear down the democratic system. And the Trump-Fox feedback loop is helping them do it.

It took YEARS before statisticians showed that 'hanging chads' and Bush V Gore weren't the issue - that it was electronic voting or counting that created the Bush win by rigging 6 entire states.
Not that anybody cared to follow up on that issue, because what's not to like about a system you can control to get what you want? It's not who votes that counts, it's who counts the votes.
And so we have never fixed the ACTUAL problems that allow vote-rigging. Instead we've focused on RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!!RUSSIA!!! hyperbole.
In the meantime, there are results from some states that look really ... hinkey. So I'm bookmarking them on my computer because it's not a fact - yet - that any votes were fraudulent. Unless Trump is in jail for tax evasion, where he can't get on twitter, President Biden would be wise to recognize that Trump can become the new Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederate States. James Buchanan, the 2nd Worst President in history and Lincoln's predecessor, didn't know what to do about Jeff Davis. Buchanan only knew that something was wrong, but wouldn't do anything about Davis. I do hope Biden doesn't decide he is the next James Buchanan, too weak and mild-mannered a President to stop a disaster by arresting the leaders. Jeff Davis was charged with NOTHING. The entire Confederate leadership and military hierarchy was charged with NOTHING. The completely idiotic reasoning for this? It is in the wiki:

Trump is probably stealing money from his own campaign. President Biden better investigate.
Trump’s cries of election shenanigans have been framed and packaged by his campaign in a stream of all caps fundraising emails to supporters to get them to donate to his “official election defense fund.” But these breathless emails claiming malfeasance of all sorts are just as much a push to bank enough donations to retire the campaign’s debt. The scandalous outrage is one last opportunity for Trump to cash in on his status as GOP party leader, and cement it going forward, before he no longer has access to the greatest tool for getting attention known to man—the presidency.
Making supporters think the election result is still up in the air and somehow being subverted is a moneymaker for the Trump campaign and the RNC.
Money will be important to Trump as he plots whatever lunatic path he takes next. The New York Times reports that Trump is already planning to set up a leadership political action committee that “will potentially let him retain his hold on the Republican Party even when he is out of office.” Not if Trump is in jail.

The Times Called Officials in Every State: No Evidence of Voter Fraud
PHILADELPHIA — Election officials in dozens of states representing both political parties said that there was no evidence that fraud or other irregularities played a role in the outcome of the presidential race, amounting to a forceful rebuke of President Trump’s portrait of a fraudulent election.
The New York Times contacted the offices of the top election officials in every state on Monday and Tuesday to ask whether they suspected or had evidence of illegal voting. Officials in 45 states responded directly to The Times. For four of the remaining states, The Times spoke to other statewide officials or found public comments from secretaries of state; none reported any major voting issues.
Statewide officials in Texas did not respond to repeated inquiries. But a spokeswoman for the top elections official in Harris County, the largest county in Texas with a population greater than many states, said that there were only a few minor issues and that “we had a very seamless election.” On Tuesday, the Republican lieutenant governor in Texas, Dan Patrick, announced a $1 million fund to reward reports of voter fraud.
What emerged in The Times’s reporting was how, beyond the president, Republicans in many states were engaged in a widespread effort to delegitimize the nation’s voting system.

Comparisons of the no-party candidates' public campaign records show similarities and connections that suggest they are all linked by funding from the same dark money donors, and part of an elaborate scheme to upset voting patterns.
In one of those races, District 37, a recount is underway because the spread between the Democratic and Republican candidates is only 31 votes. The third party candidate received more than 6300 votes.
That third party candidate is Alexis Rodriguez, who has the same last name as the Democratic incumbent senator Jose Javier Rodriguez. The Republican challenger is Ileana Garcia.
Alexis Rodriguez falsified his address on his campaign filing form last June. The couple who now live at the Palmetto Bay address say they have been repeatedly harassed since then by people looking for Rodriguez, who hadn’t lived there in five years.
Local 10 visited Rodriguez’s place of business Tuesday, where Rodriguez lied about his identity. Pretending to be a business partner, Rodriguez shed little light on his sudden candidacy in the District 37 race and lack of fundraising or campaigning.
Local 10 began investigating Rodriguez’s candidacy because of a hunch by Executive Producer Natalie Morera de Varona last month. She was collecting candidates' headshots for election broadcast graphics and was curious why a candidate was nowhere to be found, not returning phone calls.
A search of campaign documents filed by Rodriguez led to a money trail and campaign finance connections with other no-party third candidates in Florida Senate District 9 in Central Florida, and District 39 in Miami-Dade.
The District 39 candidate is 81-year-old Celso Alfonso, a retiree who named the woman he calls his wife as campaign treasurer. She owns a day spa, and the home where we found Alfonso Tuesday afternoon.
He, too, lied about his identity at first, and finally admitted to being the candidate.
Alfonso claimed he had a lifelong dream to be in public service. He said he filed on his own, that no one assisted him.

And such a campaign could be successful because at least some of these states’ legislatures are only narrowly controlled by the Republican party – meaning they may be sensitive to a future voter backlash in 2022 that could come from their actions to steal a presidential election.
And yet … instead of sounding the alarm, Joe Biden and Kamala Harris seem to have settled on a “nothing to see here” approach.

The president was happy to take credit for holding an election that the Department of Homeland Security called the “most secure in American history” while still insisting it was “rigged.”

Well, come up with some actual PROOF, and we can discuss it. Until then, Biden won with 306 electoral votes and over 5 million popular votes.
I think most people voted just to get Trump out. I'm not a fan of Biden, but he's not Trump, so he's automatically better.
