Well ... on the one hand you say you want a meritocracy. And these people are true global experts as good or better than anyone else you'll find anywhere on the planet. They'd easily be making at least several times more if they worked for private industry instead of public health.

OTOH you seem to resent them because they're not making the same wages as someone who moves boxes and pallets. Their jobs are too cushy compared to their expertise.

idk, Jack. Maybe you could do a better job explaining what your thoughts are.

But I was also far too optimistic that 'somebody' at 'some point' would do 'something' to stop the train I saw coming down the tracks. I was giving the benefit of the doubt, and putting hopeful question marks on what I thought was the near future.

You are not as smart as you think. If WHO can't stop the Flu, it is obvious that WHO can't stop coronavirus. The WHO is NOT capable and never has been: Flu Kills 646,000 People Worldwide Each Year.

What does stop coronavirus? The human immune system, which is not under any kind of bureaucratic control. It is completely unplanned, evolving randomly, with no consciousness at all. One of these days the immune system will fail much worse than normal and the damage will be huge: The Spanish flu pandemic of 1918, the deadliest in history, infected an estimated 500 million people worldwide — about one-third of the planet's population — and killed an estimated 20 million to 50 million victims, including some 675,000 Americans.

Other estimates run as high as 100 million dead victims — around 3 percent of the world’s population. The exact numbers are impossible to know due to a lack of medical record-keeping in many places. That's the real reason WHO exists — to keep better records. The human immune system, without any written or intelligent plan, will automatically save most of humanity, not the WHO bureaucracy.

They might be educated, but none of them seem to know what they're doing.

Kind of like half of the post office workers out there 2020 that are filling a quota.

You're dumber than a rock. Flu and coronavirus are 2 entirely different things. Why don't you know that by now? It's been in the news more than enough times. And yes, it's possible to stop coronavirus. They stopped MERS, a previous coronavirus.

And if democrats don't do any different, how are they any better?

How would you know? It's not like you're an expert grading them from a place of superior knowledge.

You're dumber than a rock. Flu and coronavirus are 2 entirely different things. Why don't you know that by now? It's been in the news more than enough times. And yes, it's possible to stop coronavirus. They stopped SARS and MERS, 2 previous coronaviruses.

SARS and MERS weren't exterminated like smallpox. SARS and MERS are still around and there is NOT an organized program to eradicate either like for smallpox. SARS and MERS were self-limiting diseases that sputtered out on their own. It was NOT the brilliance of human medical research that stopped those diseases. It was the dull old human immune system which has been saving us for thousands of years. Plus, stay away from sick camels to avoid MERS. That's pretty easy to do where I live.

The SARS story is much the same. When SARS emerged from China in 2002 it swept across the globe. More than 8,000 people fell ill and 774 died. The disease disappeared in 2004, likely due to isolation and quarantine containment measures. (Same are MERS -- stay away from sick camels. Or people.) It sure wasn't from vaccination.

Here's from YOUR OWN LINK:
When SARS emerged from China in 2002 it swept across the globe—largely through air travel—causing deadly illness. More than 8,000 people fell ill and 774 died ... SARS drew the collective focus of researchers throughout the world. The disease disappeared in 2004, likely due to isolation and quarantine containment measures, and no cases of SARS have been reported since..

Stopping air travel. Quarantine. Containment. Those are all things that were done back then to stop SARS, thanks to medical science figuring out what it was and how it spread.

Those were all the things WHO could have done for SARS-COV-2 now, and should have done, to STOP (not 'eradicate') SARS-COV-2.

If WHO(the morally crippled Tedros) had taken action earlier, we probably wouldn't be facing what we're facing.

That's the problem with morally crippled people, like Tedros, and you. They're incapable of doing what's right if it conflicts with their food bowl.

In any case, I hope your nice strong immune system has a chance to show you what it can do with a nice, strong cytokine storm.

And if democrats don't do any different, how are they any better?

WHO can NOT close borders and stop flights. But Trump can. Why hasn't he? Oh, I know, I know! He is worried about what that would do to the stock market and the economy and his reelection. It is not Tedros who is morally crippled. Do I need to say it? Yes, I do: it is Trump who is morally crippled.

"WHO can NOT close borders and stop flights."

I guess there was no reason for Tedros to have STILL not declared this to be a pandemic. WHO must just be a toothless, ignorable soothsayer.

"WHO can NOT close borders and stop flights."

Really?

Show me how WHO can close USA borders over the objections of Trump. Please show me, 1kiki. While you are at it, show me how WHO could keep borders open when Trump closes borders. It is Trump that decides about USA borders, not WHO. It is all Trump's decision for why the borders are open. And Trump made that decision to help his reelection. Trump is morally bankrupt.

1kiki, I will be back in a few hours to see what kind of phoney answer you give to make Trump look good. Work hard on your fake story about how Trump would shut down the borders and stop all flights and crash the economy in order to stop the coronavirus, even if a shut down and crash would prevent him from being reelected.
