Wrong ! Banner's dad experimented on him as a child, and those genetic alterations and enhancements stayed w/him through out his youth , through adolescence and it wasn't until the burst of Gama radiation that it all coalesced into making The Hulk. That much radiation SHOULD have killed him, and it would have, had he not been his dad's guinea pig.

It has zero to do w/ Banner having a penis, you twat. But thanks for wearing your pink pussy cat hat to the conversation.

Hulk can't be reproduced w/ a shot of super serum or a series of shots or else that person will turn out like the Abomination.

( Dunno about SHE-Hulk. Can't say I'm up to speed on her back story )

Now , as I've said before, the way they did it w/ Spiderman : Into the Spiderverse was brilliant. Yes, ANYONE could have been bitten by that spider, and pretty much the same result. That's how we get Miles Morales, Spider Gwenn, and a host of others, all basically the same, but some with variations of powers unique to themselves.

I don't see Zeek posting here much. I could be wrong, but I don't recall ever thinking that Zeek was an overly woke type individual.

Maybe you want to tone down the aggression in that reply there, Rappy? Pretty sure that Zeek's post was innocent, while possibly being a little naive. It was nowhere near as insulting or even remotely as intentionally inflammatory as Nilbog's terrible posts are.

Without having more info, I've got to give Zeek the benefit of the doubt on this one. He (She?) is probably just a normie who doesn't get what the fuss on either side of this issue is.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

lol. Fuck you too buddy.

Yeah... he did. Like I said... a bit naive, but probably just because he really isn't aware of a lot of this stuff. I mean, c'mon, he used The Hulk as a comparison to Captain Marvel when the only really obvious "mainstream" choice to make a comparison would be Superman. The Hulk isn't as worthless as Hawkeye or Black Widow, but unless you're just looking to beat up some bank robbers or some other human foes, The Hulk is going to need some backup.

Carol Danvers can punch holes in planets. Her only character development was a bunch of men all her life telling her she can't do anything because she has a vagina, as if every man she ever knew was an anachronistic clone of Archie Bunker. Then she becomes the most powerful being that ever existed because of some freak accident that could never occur in real life and proved everybody wrong. That's it. *yawn*

I dunno... We don't get a lot of people posting in these parts anymore. I figure this is probably a good opportunity to show somebody else what we see is going on instead of insulting them so they don't come back.

I kind hate it when I have to be a dick to SGG because I like the dude. I was hoping that him being on the other side of it all with his take on Joker would open his eyes a bit, but he flipped right back over with the next Hollywood cash grab and back to insulting everybody.

(He's lucky this isn't Twitter. They wouldn't have him back.)

It's hard not to insult somebody right back when they're hurling them your way.

Do Right, Be Right. :)

I mean again that's the same as Captain Marvel. Her mom is a Kree. They didn't point that out in the movie and maybe they won't carry that over to the MCU, but it's part of her origin in the comics.

So, I mean it's just superhero BS. I don't see what makes this one so bad.

This isn't like Rey in Star Wars where she is a nobody but somehow the most powerful force user ever and doesn't need any training and even when she does stupid @$*% she never fails. Now that's some ridiculous story telling.

The gross marketing. The studios allowing their actors and directors with an agenda to rail on fans with the cringe legacy media piling on as well. The fact that this is just one prime example of this behavior in what has become a pretty long line of incidents.

Captain Marvel was the only one of these movies that made any money, and I'd bet all I had that this was just because of the anticipation for End Game and the lie that you needed to see Captain Marvel before you saw end game.

It probably was a good idea for them to remove this following scene from the movie when it was released in theaters too:

So Danvers is supposed to be 1/2 Kree ? Yeah, that'd be nice to point out in the movie. But still, how does grant her powers ? Save her from being blowed up, fine. But grant her galactic level powers ? Lame.

The motorcycle scene. Yeah, she's a real HERo, ain't she ? Guy offers to help, and gets his bike , helmet and jacket stolen. What a POS her character is. I bet Brie wrote that scene herself. Or had a lot of input, at least.

Did we at least get a discovery arc of her exploring her new found powers ? Seems she has the same sour puss expression on her face as a human pilot as she does 1/2 Kree super immortal.

I'm going to play a little bit of Devil's Advocate here, if you don't mind Rappy.

I get what Zeek is trying to say. For the most part, superhero/supervillain origin stories are weak. They're either based on pseudo-science or the supernatural or just completely bogus from the beginning. A lot of that probably has to do with the fact that many of these stories are so old now that cigarette ads were still on TV every night decades after the first stories were written.

This shouldn't be where the argument lies, because it's a completely un-winnable argument.

And, unlike a lot of the other cultural appropriation we see in other franchises and other mediums today, it can't even be said that Captain Marvel was a cheap gender swap since Carol Danvers has been a real character for decades as well.

But, her story is boring. Being invincible is boring. There are no lessons learned. There are no struggles to overcome. They tried desperately to shoehorn some great myth of "The Patriarchy" always beating Carol down every single moment of her life, even though that wasn't going on in the 90's anymore than it goes on today, and then they had Carol overcome this lifetime of wrongdoings against her by making her the most powerful being in the universe. I fail to see how this is engrossing to anybody. It's certainly not teaching anybody any lessons on how to overcome animosity in their lives.

All I know is, I've got a niece that's turning 6 years old today and I'm in full support of her. If any one of those little shits tells her she can't do something because she's a girl, just pop them in the nose. But I'll also fill her in on the little secret that she better work hard to be smarter than the bullies and find other ways to win as she gets older because unless she's training to be a MMA fighter that strategy isn't going to work very well once puberty sets in.

And again here... It's not as if that guy wasn't a total douchebag, and it's not as if we all haven't met a douchebag just like that guy in our lives either. Some guys are just natural born assholes. And, SURPRISE!!!! Some girls are too.

What that scene depicts is two fully grown, adult assholes in a bigger dick contest. One of them just happens to be a completely static character who was given superpowers she didn't have to work a day in her life for and how she gets her petty kicks off enjoying them.

It's kind of funny. I have no interest at all in ever watching Captain Marvel, but I wonder what happened to "The Don" after that. Is he still an asshole?

At the end of the day, a lot of women are attracted to everything "The Don" represents. Especially younger and more foolish women. The phrase "Nice Guys Finish Last" wasn't just a song by Green Day.

Nah. It was a complete A to Z story with no character development, as is all of the agenda based bullshit that comes from these millennials who grew up playing soccer without keeping the score and hiding in their safe spaces in college. (Notice how a vast majority of the SJWs are rich white kids who never struggled a day in their lives, and not the minorities they're supposedly representing when they're virtue signa

If biker guy had started putting his hands on her, yeah, crack those digits and teach him a lesson. Taking his bike and gear ? That harkens back to the Terminator, who I must remind no one, was a really bad guy, when the franchise started.

I think we all can agree that Captain Marvel, whether DC or Marvel version, on screen or from the comics, has a garbage origins story.

That's my view, and I'm sticking w/ it.

I'm not saying it wasn't out of line. It was.

It didn't paint her out to be a hero at all. I'm sure that's why it was eventually removed from the theatrical cut too, although there are a group of people who celebrated the fact that it was made in the first place when they found out about it.

But the dude was an asshole.

I'm the type that has a personal space bubble that I don't like having invaded by pretty much anybody except for a few people in my life. If I was looking at a map and some rando that I didn't know flipped it down on me like that, I'd probably want to break their fingers off too.

Don't even get me started on how I respond if somebody snaps their fingers to get my attention.

Just sayin'.
