This letter was plainly NOT written with legal arguments in mind. No lawyer would do anything but laugh at it. Rather, it’s aimed at Trump’s base and, especially, Fox News. It provides them with approved talking points going forward, and I expect to hear versions of these talking points 24/7 throughout conservative media for weeks to come.

What Trump wants is for the GOP controlled Senate to vote "Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity", a plea entered by a defendant in a criminal trial, in which the defendant claims that he or she was so mentally disturbed or incapacitated at the time of the offense that he could not have intended to commit the crime. A jury that agrees with this plea may find the defendant not guilty by reason of insanity, but usually the defendant faces civil commitment proceedings if the defendant is judged to be dangerous in a subsequent hearing.
Being insane will not lower Trump's tax bill calculated by forensic accountants.

It woud not suprize me if McConnell works out a deal with Pelosi to get rid uv Trump.
All he ever really wanted wuz a puppet Prezident and Pence can do that just fine, so the deal will be to ignore Pence'z involvement and in return, the eko chamber will help discredit Trump to hopefully keep most uv hiz chumps on their side.

There's another plausible reason Trump is pulling out of Syria. He wants the contract to build all the new homes that will be required to house those, who come to occupy the so called safe zone between Syria and Turkey.
